This have to be the biggest sound improvement i have ever heard from Line 6....

Everything now sounds just wonderful, it’s now on par with anything out there and they have certainly 

impressed me with this one, didn’t expect any better sound improvements with Helix so this update 

sets a new standard, oversampling did the trick... Just stunning

From page 9 - 

"18. EXT AMP 1/2 Connect to your traditional guitar amp to switch its channels or turn its reverb on and off. Use a TRS cable for dual operation (1=tip, 2=ring)."

 

In order to switch two amps, you need a TRS to dual TS splitter.

I just think it's an easier, more reliable way to do it compared to having to have the amps on a common ground and all that business, because you never know what kind of disastrous situation you're going to walk into in terms of on-stage power when you go to play a gig. You'd be dependent on something that you can't really control. At least the way I described would work no matter what the venue's power is like.

Thanks for this info and I want it to switch per-preset, but how to physical connect to both amps since Helix only have one Ext amp output for channel switching, what do i not understand.....

I believe these amps have “short to sleeve” for channel switching...

Yes it would, but not sure if the Ext amp out on Helix can switch both amp channels at the same time, if that’s possible i can use both preamps on separate paths with different settings...

After a second thought I realized that I don’t have to switch channels on both amps

since I already have one preamp in the effect loop,  i just use the other one as a power-amp

for the stereo setup, of course it could be nice to have the second amp in the loop too for some different eq/gain settings, it’s not a must but could absolutely give me some different sound, i will use the same ground on both and make a splitter cable and see if that will work....

Does anybody know if the Ext amp out can switch channels on two amps at the same time?

Have ordered a second Marshall Dsl 1hr for stereo and hope this could be done with a splitter cable....

How expensive does things have to be to be good..?

Modelers needs a clean and natural signalway and I think

the HB 212A-Fr will give you that for a good price...

This is a preamp model and should be in the preamp category, not

in the drive section, it’s not a standard distortion pedal so it’s difficult to 

get it to sound nice with an full additional amp because it’s too “meaty” on it’s own,

but that’s just a little mans opinion.....

Thanks for this information and it make sense, but the only reason i would like to have a poweramp sim in Helix, is that i prefer to use my tube preamp(s) in the effectloop, and then out of my Helix into a class D stereo amp..... ,but I’ll guess i have to buy a torpedo cab or something like that to achieve this, but that would  add more latency in my signal chain....

Maybe there is a another topic somewhere...

But Poweramp modeling only, just wonder how many Helix users that miss this?

Not too much votes on the idescale, but it’s really something i personally would like to have 

seen coming.... something like the Torpedo Cab.... would have been awesome!

Can i get the sound from Bias fx into my Helix and place it in the signal chain, like a separate block, and also with the midi switching over usb with this camera adapter?

Just wonder if there’s  possible to use Helix as an audio interface for use with  ipad, have seen someone 

using their Boss Gt 10 as an interface for that on YouTube, does anyone know if it can be done on the Helix?

I personally use the amp block on low volume and pre amp block on higher volume...

Try mixing with the poweramp settings in Helix when using an full amp block if it’s get 

too powerful, but anything you do that puts a smile on your face is correct...

It‘s every year the same and Line6 did not listen to us. From time to time a small status update and we are all in good mood. Or better don’t tell us in January. Yes yours is barely audible, made a clip from mine in front of my cabinet, (crunch channel)

first the loop off then on, and as you can hear it has more soundbleed although my

guitarstrings are a bit present the bleed is more severe...

Thanks for the input, seams like you Craig have the same issue but maybe not as severe as mine I’ll think.... i play mostly at low volume so this a big problem, and increasing the volume on the amp just make it worse...

Maybe the right word is a “bad design” and they just excuse themselves with some undefined 

reasons...Have now contacted H&K directly and are curious to hear what they have to say

about this issue, but I’m afraid that i get the same answer that Thomann got from them!

Asked Thomann if they could test this on a another TubeMeister deluxe 40, but they told me that they did not have any there to test!   hmmm strange.....?
