    Thanks all! Good info!

For my purposes, I have one particularly quiet string (top E) I've like to adjust, so global levels are fine.

I think there may generally be some confusion over the terms - like I thought "global" on some of the other threads, meant across all 6 strings.

So - now I have the problem of finding a USB interface... :)

It's a real shame that Helix and HD500X don't support the old Workbench.

That means your piezo is dying. For the money of the interface, i suggest to buy the ghost piezo by graphteck pn8000, than adjust your volume of strings. It will revive your guitar, and the sounds you will get are much more alive.

Used anything is a gamble. Doesn't much matter what it is...instruments, cars, underwear...;)

So unless you get to test drive it first, buying anything second hand is an act of faith.

I prefer the used women's underwear tbh. Since i cant test drive her, i have faith it is not washed...

Interesting. If so, then their direction is not toward a new Helix (as I wrongly predicted by last Holiday Season). So then what "other" direction are they pointed I wonder?  A new Variax? Vetta-3 perhaps?

A new variax!!!! A new variax!!!

@bsd512 Thanks very much for the info. I've been a Helix owner for a few years now, and I get good tones, but I've been avoiding playing around much with cabs, and with the stock cab settings (esp. mic choice, etc.) Given your experience bringing your IR knowledge to the stock cabs, would you be willing to share any guidelines/principles you've discovered? Even a few general pointers would be awesome, like mixing cabs with different mics, maybe a handful of mics to start with (and applications), etc. Apologies for the vague question, and for not having looked around the forum much. Either way, thanks again!

As well as read some of these https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/helix-stock-cabs-ideas.2038915/

You can get my presets on the

And reverse engineer them to fully understand them.

IMO... A backup situation is not about getting the exact same tones or quality of tones, it's about surviving a gig relatively unscathed :) At the cost of a Stomp... buying one for strictly backup purposes would be a waste of money (for this relatively poor musician) UNLESS I had another practical use for the item.

If I was on a tour or even a gig where second best isn't good enough - I would simply carry a second Helix and do away with any compromise, whether it's a rental or purchased.

I don't have this need at all... most of my patches in my HD never have an EQ in them. I'll admit... it's not as nice as the Helix, but (for me) it's good enough to survive a gig or two, especially considering I used to gig with one all the time before buying the Helix :)

Matter of fact, hd had the ÷13 sounding better than the helix amp. Don't know if it was less accurate, but was more pleasant. Anyway, the minimum imo eq w that was needed, was the mid focus eq after the amp, to trim the low and high, and the parametric  to trim the 3.7khz

People mentioned this but it is not clear if I can do this without having any of them. Can I just save HX Stomp presets as Helix presets without connecting a Helix or using Native?

Αs far as i got it yes. This is the core line 6 fighting about. All can be read by all, though still the dsp will be problem on stomp, if it loads a bigger than 6 blocks preset.

  8. Changed the neck asap, but kept the locking tuners for the new neck. Changed pickups asap, since the tyler were lifeless. Changed the pickguard colour, to red turtle, and the knobs to the original strato. Guitar looks and play great.

The tremolo has to be inserted and twisted clockwise. But generaly, the tremolo is bad.

    P.s. try my realistic bundle
