Any answers to this question? I have a similar desire with JHS Kilt

Original OEM housing came apart. The third party one just fizzled out electronically. No abuse for either.

I lug my HD500 out every weekend for 4 years and I'm on my 3rd power supply. I found a third party one on amazon that worked for awhile then crapped out. I'd recommend OEM if you can find it cheap.

To zoomstrat: I thought the tube screamer worked well in front of the amp. I zero the drive on the amp and dime the volume. With two tube screamers in front, one driving 16% the other at 35%, I get pretty sweet distortion. I use the boost compressor to overdrive the ac30 model cuz I like the tube distortion of the el84s. Do you run direct to pa?
