"Can't see how changing the tubes would fix it."---- If the power tubes are getting worn, there could be internal elements of the tube leaking current between them. And that could pull on the system voltages.

Make certain your product is registered in your account, and then log a support ticket with Line 6. They will let you know what your options are. Good things come to those who wait. Battery charge times should be observed. Impatience is understandable, I have five Variax guitars myself.
-
Support will go over the options with you. Not a user solvable issue at this point.

JTV69 and JTV69US pickups the same?
psarkissian replied to blackriver9's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Correct, the pick-ups are the same in both. They are done to Tyler's specifications, modeled after some Seymour Duncans that he likes. -

Message me the serial numbers of both units. And if you can get photos of the front and back of the whole guitars, that would be helpful too. I know these really well, I service these guitars. -
There's a Knowledge Base about this. If I recall, it has to be FAT32.

JTV69 bridge noise
psarkissian replied to frstrat's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
"You know perfectly well that I was referring to a simple bridge adjustment that is often necessary with new springs"--- yes. Good of you to point all that out. It's why I said "maybe". Usually a spring thing, there's some stuff that goes on in the Tremolo cavity that is not in the tech manuals, and so I end up dealing with it. All and all, good call on your part. :) -
JTV69 bridge noise

"... nothing that a good set-up can't fix"--- maybe. But if it's what I think it is, I'll have to deal with it. -

Log a support ticket. I'll need to see it on my bench. Some adjustments I'll have to make. -
When plugging in to a computer, it goes out of pedal mode and into USB mode. The MkII has MIDI connectors in back. No computer connection with MkI. And no trying to get MkII models into a MkI,... in case that was your next question.
-
Also, make certain the volume control shaft is in for full volume, and not out in the lower volume mode. It's an easy thing to forget.

Bridge for a Variax Standard. What is it you are trying to do?
-
Make certain you get the correct piezo/saddle assembly for the correct string pair. They may all look the same, but inside they are not.

Warmouth Necks / Variax Guitars
psarkissian replied to specracer986's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Looking at those two guitars, my question is, how are you going to access the truss rod adjust, when you need to adjust neck relief? Aside form that,... nice, very nice. -
If you are getting Alt Tunes going backwards from the selector knob labels, then that's a part of the program I will have to deal with. Re-Flash of the firmware won't deal with that, I will have to. Thanks for the heads up. It should be sent to me. You could log a support ticket and have it sent to me.
-
Possible. It would have to be sent here for evaluation. We have a tech that has a set-up for dealing with this sort of thing. The support people will go over the options with you.

There is a whole set of signal checks and tests done after putting new tubes (valves) in, sp that it runs stable with the new tubes (valves). For the DT50, EL34EH matched pairs from Electro-Harmonix for the power tubes (valves), 12AX7EH low microphonics for the pre-amp tubes (valves). For the DT25, use the EL84EH Electro-Harmonix (matched pairs) for the power tubes (valves), and 12AX7B China for pre-amps.

It needs to be serviced by a qualified Line 6 authorized tech. Log a support ticket to set that up.
