  1. Yes,... PierM remembered.

"... hope they design new magnetic pickups that capture each string's signal separately, "

" It is not possible to use a magnetic pickup for individual strings. At least I don't know any that can do that. "

Actually, it is possible. They are called "hexaphonic pick-ups". Hex being six, and phonic being sound source. Not enough magnetic field isolation

between strings because of magnetic mutual coupling of the magnetic fields between pick-up elements.

And what goes into it verses the results you get from it,... was thought of as diminishing returns for the effort put into it. Nice idea, just didn't work as

    well as it was hoped.

Mostly used in some of the early guitar synths. Still used on certain Roland guitar synths and Fishman guitar MIDI products.

Beyond that, hardly anyone uses hexaphonic pick-ups much anymore.

  2. All Variax guitars have Jescar 57110 frets.

Upside for a luthier is that when working, leveling and round frets, there's enough material to work with.

smaller frets wear down to where you can't work them anymore. Then you have to re-fret, or swap out

    the neck,... if it's a bolt-on neck.

Down side is that Jescar 57110 is a bit much.

I'm fine with anything, I adapt, so I'm comfortable with whatever it is.

  3. I know this one. He does good work. Consulted me, as I had done a left hand transplant mod for Line 6 artist Carlos Rios (circa 2014).

And like Carlos, this one is also left handed, matching a 500 electric bridge (flat on the deck) to a JTV board.

Last I recall, this one by Hamsterdan was a one-off project, and said it work pretty good. Being a former rep for us,

he well was acquainted with our product.

Both were challenging and not for the inexperienced. As the saying goes, "These are professionals. Don't try this at home."

  4. "... are the Piezo’s unique to different strings" --- no, but the saddles are. Saddles are grouped in

pairs (outer, inner and mid) to conform to the neck radius spec at the bridge. Same piezos in each

saddle, but each saddle pair height is different.

"... the low E volume was crazy low" --- it is probably connected to the incorrect connector pin. Each

string piezo has to got to the correct connector for that string.

"... I might have the connections to the board the wrong way around on the multi pin. " --- more than likely.

As stated above, they have to be in the correct order for that string. Yes, it knows which string is which.

And can't go any deeper than that,... it's an NDA thing.

  5. No broken string ends in the cavities messing with the electronics?

    You have v2.23 program, good.

It may need a going over by a Line 6 authorized service center.

Find me on the FB Variax Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/VariaxUsers ,

... then personal message me, with the "W" and the first four digits,... only.

I can check a few things quick. Will be able to check deeper once back at work on Tuesday.
