Parts are in the the pipeline. Waiting on logistics bottlenecks to ease up.
-
There are parts in the pipeline. There are still supply chain hang ups at different points.
What parts and when, I don't know, it changes with the CoVid issue affects. ETA keeps
changing, but stuff is out there, and in transit.

It will physically fit, but the stop points will be different and so the Models and Alt Tune points won't line-up the same.
-
Looking for stock Alt Tunes, one can re-Flash to stock JTV Models and tunings, but you would lose the Shuriken bundle.
You could use Workbench HD, save the Shuriken patches to a computer, re-Flash for standard JTV models, save those to
a computer, then use Workbench HD to upload Shuriken as desired.
Save Shuriken models to computer, do custom patches, save those to computer, and build a library of what it is you
like to use and load them in when you want.

No.
Custom tuning is best done using the Workbench HD application,.. see the Downloads page for that.

I have serviced a number of these, getting underneath is a big chore. Best left to a Line 6
authorized service center. Love the product, but not very service friendly.

L6 Link bypasses the tube stage. Sounds like it's past time to change out the tubes.
This should be done by a Line 6 authorized service center using the specified tubes.
It is not just tube swap and bias, there is a service tech test that goes with it, and is not
a self repair thing to do.
-
Sounds like intermittent connection on the switch assembly. Have a Line 6 authorized service tech deal with it.
-
Just be aware that this is not a Line 6 product. Use at your own risk.
-
I am aware of your registered location. First register the guitar in you account, then log a Support ticket.
It could be battery, the charger, main board, jack plate, encoder switch or something else. It will need to
be properly troubleshooted by an authorized service tech.
-
There are a number of reasons for it to fail that way. This will not be a self repair situation.
It should be checked out by an authorized Line 6 service technician.

Isoprpyl alcohol on a cotton swab, drip it it onto the piezo, then blow it out with canned air.
Repeat as needed.
If that doesn't fix, then the piezo may be on the verge of failing. At that point, take to a Line 6
authorized repair for servicing.

Make certain there are no USB hubs connected.
-
A lot going on there, a great exercise in circuitry. Sounds like more than one issue.
Time for a trip to a Line 6 authorized service center, so that each one can be dealt with.

1) I don't have them memorized, they're people here on the Forum and Facebook Variax page.
2) Two of them build these for themselves, and I don't know if they would do builds for others.
One is in Canada, a tech who used to also was a Line 6 rep. I'll check my Linkedin and FB friends lists and ask him.
Check with scottjennings here in the Forum.

Carefully pull up the knobs, make certain the retainer nuts underneath are snug.
Loose nuts can result in an intermittent chassis ground connection.

Thanks, it looked odd, I almost missed the broken tab myself.
"Sorry if I gave the impression I didn't know your major contributing role. " --- No problem.
Wasn't certain how much you knew about my work here. Not everyone knows. Cheers.
-
" I had .010's on it and was getting weird transients. " --- Set-up has to be more spot on than normal passive electric guitars,
due to interaction between magnetic pick-ups and piezos (warbling from pick-up height not adjusted, whistling howl from tuning
or intonation not being spot on). Quirks to be aware of.
-
Thanks. I service all these guitars, know these parts well.
-
Just measure my hex for doing that, with calipers, yes, 7/64.
-
Stop tab was broken or cut off, saw part of it in the photo.
-
That is not for an 89F, and it does not have a stop tab. Looks like one from an older version Variax.
It is the correct part number for the Variax Standard and not a JTV.

Cobalts are good strings.

Strange Noises coming out of my old Variax 700

Intermittent ground point allowing digital data or clock to ride on the audio. Gunk getting between the piezo and saddle,
resulting in intermittent signal ground, as the saddle serves as the signal ground for the piezos. Tuning and/or intonation
needs to be more spot on.
Have it checked out by a Line 6 authorized service center.
