Tubes
in DT50 / DT25
Click on my avatar here, there should be a space to message me.
Best to stick with the straight usual 12AX7EH mediums and not get fancy.
If the digital side sees anything different than the usual, it won't know what
to do with it, and won't like it.

1- Your serial number. Message it to me.
2- 12AX7, the pre-amp stage doesn't have to be matched pairs,... unless you want to go over-board with that.
Matched pairs only matters for the power stage.

This post is in the wrong category, I will move it to the correct one.
Getting an older jack plate is specific to the version Variax you have.
TRS jacks do get grungy over time, like any other piece of technology that old.
-
1- 7Vdc is fine on those, typically around 7.4V.
2- No schematics available or publish, too much proprietary stuff in it.
3- No trim pot.
I like to remind people about the PX-2, because there's always someone out there that wants to use a substitute.
Don't want those ending up on my bench if it can be helped. Less meant for you, more for everyone else who will read this. (Thumbs up)

The XPS wedge or the soap bar use a PX-2 to power them. The DC going out through the TRS to the guitar is around 8Vdc.
Either the XPS's or the battery packs should be used. Anything else is an unsupported modification and would not be serviceable,
so mod it at your own risk.

VDI, CAT5e, shielded.
-
It uses a PX-2 AC/AC, 9VAC/2000mA.

Can't read a php file.

You mean the model patch? Correct. Can't use old Variax patches in newer Variax guitars,
as they a different. Different hardware and programming than the old Variax. Different guitars internally.
-
Using 9's,... your acoustic sounds can sound banjo/dobro 'ish.
Recommended string set would be 10's or 11's.
If you manage to go back to Flash v1.72, you would have to use Workbench.
but you would still be using the 69 model patches, not 700's, as there is no portability old and new patches.

1- Make certain they are the specified tubes.
2- Have an authorized Line 6 service center install, bias the tubes and test.
3- If you are touching a switch on the amp and noise reduces,... then you have a ground loop somewhere.
-
Yes,... the XPS in this above photo with the Line 6 PX-2 adapter is the correct one.
The PX-2 in the photo has the correct turns ratio and current draw. We can not vouch
for or endorse any substitutes, so don't use substitutes.
-
Yes.
Connect the JTV-69 to Monkey and update to v2.00 or higher, and it will run Workbench HD with your Variax.
-
Just a different neck dimensions, not directly compatible.
I'm a guy at Line 6 that services and repairs Variax guitars.
-
Built out here by a colleague, one of James Tyler's people. He does excellent work.

The shorter cable and interface device are for connecting to the computer to use the Monkey and Workbench HD applications.
-
1. No.
2. Re-Flashing v1.7x should work with old Workbench,... up to a point. JTV-69 being newer, features that work
better in Workbench HD, than with old Workbench.
-The neck won't affect the acoustic sound patch on the 69 beyond intonation. There is no portability between
old and new Variax patches, even going back to v1.7x, using old Workbench. There is no interchangeability like
that between old and new patches. People have tried that early on, it didn't work.
-
Afraid not, no line level outs on these.
-
Sounds like the battery.
Register your product in your Line 6 account, then log a Support ticket.
Check with Full Compass for a 98-034-0009 part, as the Line 6 Store is presently out of stock.

The US built ones use Hip Shots. I forget which model number.
Minimal info, no model number on that.

69 Tortoise shell is available from Line 6. Don't know off hand if the one from
British Audio is the Line 6 part number or third party.
For the inexperienced, take care swapping those out, this isn't the usual passive
electronic guitar.
