They are not totally as compatible as they advertise. Seen those ads, have had issues in the past when they show up on my repair bench.
-
Cool.
Don't want to read anybodies obituary about how they got zapped.
Been a tech 50 years, I still get a zapping every now and then working on a tube amp.
-
12AX7EH would be better.
Having a schematic is a big no-no. Our legal consul is big on protecting our intellectual property. best if you got rid of it.
As for brands of filter caps, don't know off-hand. 14 year old product, not much info outside of that.
And there would be liability issues with someone whose tech skills we can't vouch for, especially regarding tube amps
with high voltages. Best to leave that to an authorized service center. Shock hazard is too high. It really hurts when you get zapped.

Yes, and those NYXL's are good too.
JTV's,... I service them and I own some, and use factory string sets.
-
Wish there was more I could do about it. This whole CoVid logistics glitch makes my job of service
and repair of Line 6 products a challenge for me too. Staring to see a trickle of relief,... but only a trickle, for now.
Pearl in a pig's ear,... been yonks since I heard that one. Very good, very clever. (thumbs up emoji) My version
of "wishes" would be,... "If wishes were horses, I'd have a stable full of unicorns". But at this point, I'd be fine
with just a Shetland pony.
Fortunately, the only parts we get from Russia are vacuum tubes (valves), so any sanctions there won't be bad just yet.
Product is starting,... starting to show up at our distribution hub and starting to trickle out to where it needs to go.
Hang in there.

Not so much a problem with 9's, just not as full a sound as 10's or 11's. But then, there are those who like that,
sounds fine, maybe sounds a smidge thin.

CoVid related shipping back ups. It is getting better. It will take some time to catch up to all of the back orders to catch up.
Having a floor effects unit with a VDI connection is helpful,... if you have a VDI cable.

Not as solid a note, tension on the piezo is what makes it work.
-
Factory are D'Addario XL-110's (10 set).
9's tend to be too light. Don't go higher than 11's,... especially on a 59 as it is a set neck.

Very good.

500X is an HD series, so old Workbench won't be compatible.
You will need to use the interface device for a Variax 700.
-
Need a TRS tipped guitar cable, between the guitar and the XPS.
Could also be a connection issue in the guitar, it's more than 15 years old,
should have it look at by a Line 6 authorized service center.

Tubes
in DT50 / DT25
Yes, that will do fine.
-
12AX7 EH is fine. pre-amp tubes do not have to be matched pairs. The Electro-Harmonix are fine.

Green stamp on the power tubes would be the EH head logo, it is typically green.
Fizz could be noise from lights, a filter capacitor getting old, or just old tubes. With normal use, tubes should be
changed out once every 18 to 24 months. Tube amps in general will never sound like a solid state transistor based
amp, it's one the things people like about them.
Fizz (a form of noise) or any other noise that's excessive should be looked at by a Line 6 authorized service center tech.

I don't see a service history on it, so it's probably over-due for a tube change, bias and test by an authorized service center.

Double check the Line 6 Downloads page, check that the computer OS is compatible with
Monkey and Workbench.
-
On the Downloads page, on the Line 6 site, checking the hardware, software and computer OS
combinations will show what will work with your set-up.
And the age of the 600, maybe it's time for check up for it.

You are using a 50-Ohm mic cable for the Line 6 Link?
When was the last time the tubes were changed out?
Are they the specified tubes and bias (go to a Line 6 authorized service for that)?
Topology II and IV are the noisier louder ones for that extra crunch people like. Along with
Class, Triode vs Pentode,... they will all play a part in the noise floor level and distortion level
of the settings.

Kevin Cadogan of Third Eye Blind has rigged the 5-way switch on his JTV-69 to switch quickly, using the Workbench HD application,
since he does song that require quick switching in the middle of the song. As a result, when his guitar comes in for servicing, he sends
in a custom model patch switch list, so I can check that each custom patch is in the correct switch position that it is supposed to be in.
Stevic McKay (who designed the Shuriken) of Twelve Foot Ninja, does similar custom patching making using of the model positions
and the 5-way switch positions.
Both very clever.

Tubes
in DT50 / DT25
" 240V to 110V transformers 80watts ",... For Chile, 220VAC @ 50Hz step down to 117-120VAC @ 60Hz.
Maybe 100 Watts so that there is some breathing room on the power. They maybe a 50 Watt amp, but they
sound bigger than that.
-
Check with A&T Trade Distributions in Moscow, maybe they can point you to someone closer.

What silverhead said, head knows his stuff.
Check the model gallery in the owners manual. Stevic had some patches where certain strings were attenuated or muted altogether.
If that is not the case,... alcohol on a cotton swab, drip it onto the piezo/saddle, then blow out with canned air. Repeat as needed. It
clears out any dust debris and such. The saddle acts as the chassis ground for the piezo, keep it clean prevents intermittent connections.
If it's still a problem, it should be serviced by a Line 6 authorized service center.

First, put the original speaker back in.
Save any custom patches to the SD Card, then check the manual on resetting factory defaults. See if that clears it up.

Looking for a JTV-69 neck?
in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Posted
" Tobacco Sunburst JTV-69 Variax " --- We actually call that the 3-Tone Sunburst, the Tobacco would be the JTV-59.
Not a big deal, but someone might confused by that.
