Very good.

Would have to be a left handed 500, as we never made a left handed 600. They do look similar.

Google translated :: Hello, is there anyone from line 6 to pass on our messages?? I would be ready to pay the price for this guitar,
any model even if you have to pay the custom shop ... And yes if there are possible conversions I take !!!!
ps: Sorry for being left-handed.
Don't apologize for being left handed.
Unfortunately, we do not have a custom shop. Some of us here wish we did, I would be part of it.
Google translated :: Ne vous excusez pas d'être gaucher.
Malheureusement, nous n'avons pas de boutique personnalisée. Certains d'entre nous ici souhaiteraient que nous le fassions, j'en ferais partie.
You might look into searching online for Variax 500 Electric Left hand parts an assemble one from that.
Google translated :: Vous pouvez rechercher en ligne des pièces pour main gauche Variax 500 Electric et en assembler une à partir de là.

Whatever is marked on he board for that fuse position. And see my prior warning about Fuse-F2.
-
JTV bridge/piezos would be best match.
-
And still use piezos and its circuit board?
-
Tone color/EQ will sound different in a different body. All of these Variax guitars are solid body,
so there will be even more difference in tone in a hollow body. And it will have to be a three pick-up
with a 5-way switch, or it won't function the same.
-
Either a short on the control board or a problem with the cable between the control board and main processor board,
old tubes pulling down power and throwing it off a bit.Being a 14+ year old product, maybe even a glitch on the processor
board itself, or a combination of those.
It will need to be looked at by a Line 6 authorized service center in your area.

They spell it Littel,... oddly enough. I think it's somebody's surname.
Mercury probably got the Ohmage from one and made their own version. Don't know how their specs stack up with ours.
-
" ... that the transformer went out, probably around the same time the main fuse blew,... " --- More than likely related.
As for the EL34's being bad,... depending on how often the tubes were changed and properly biased last.
Haven't has any of the main power transformers for some time. Have no third party transformer to recommend.
Looked at the Mercury data sheet, it looks close and correct as far as the values go on their transformer, but how
good it really is, don't know, have no experience with it.
Fuse,... if it's the main power fuse (F2) it's a Littlefuse 239 01.6, Series 239 1.6A/250V Slo-Bo. if it blows,... never ever,
never put your fingers in there while the power is on, 300V+ on the line,... hurts like you won't believe.
Best to leave it to an authorized service center.
-
Some parts are still available, some are not, so what can be repaired has become a case-by-case basis thing.
So an evaluation at an authorized service center would need to be done to determine that. These are not all analog
tube amps like the Marshall and Fenders, so they should not be treated as such.
-
Authorized service centers don't take that long,... but these are CoVid times, locked downs, logistic glitches with parts, and all.
Still, a year is a long time.
-
Don't do that. These are not all analog tube amps, the digital side might not like it.
Looking over the specs and frequency response curves,... it''s close, but not close enough.
Stick to the specified parts.
Outcome? If the power to speaker is not match and the speaker fails or the tubes and speakers fail,
it can take down the system. That would leave it un-repairable. Stick to specified parts (tubes, speakers,
et al). Don't try to hot rod, a Bogner hot rod it will just blow something.
Line 6 does not support modifications to it's product. If something fails we won't be able to help you.
Further complicated by the fact that it is now a legacy product.
I don't want to see your amp on my repair bench.
-
Main board, supply, interconnecting cable,...
Log a Support ticket i your account. It should be taken to a Line 6 authorized service center in your area.

Don't try to repair it yourself.
-
Would be a third party item as DT Edit is a third party application, and as far as I know, not affiliated with Line 6.
-
Variax uses piezos in the bridge when the modeling is on.
And he magnetic pick-up signal is turned off.
-
Check the Line 6 Knowledge Base on wireless, there should be an FAQ on that.

"It all works when I use the Variax USB interface, battery in guitar, 1/4 cable plugged in to JTV69", --- best to do it that way
when using Workbench HD. Going through the X3 Live may confuse it, not know which device to deal with.
Going through the X3 Live to update Flash through is one thing,... using Workbench HD is different.
-
What cruisinon2 said.
-
As the guy at Line 6 that works on these,... yes, very much a fake. A Variax by definition has Variax electronics inside.
Worse, they didn't even try to hide that it was a fake. It would have cost them too much to go beyond the fake decal.
Also, watch out for those that claim to be US made at US made prices, but are not US made. I see those pop up every
now and then.

Original Workbench won't run on Win 10. Access a computer with Windows 7.
-
It's available, but won't run on newer computers.
-
Use pick-ups with a DCR spec of between 6k and 8k Ohms for good impedance matching.
The pickup of the thick sixth string does not work
in Variax Standard

Try alcohol on a cotton swab, drip it onto the piezo, then blow it clear with canned air.
