... Or If i want to have 3 Fx Loops for Wah, HT Dist and MXR 10 band EQ my signal chain would look like 3. Guitar>>Pod HD500(Comp>>Wah(FX loop)>> Dist(FX loop)>>EQ>>Pod's Amp> >MXR 10 band EQ (Fx loop)>>Delay>> Reverb)> > PA So in order to achieve the 3rd option how should i connect it to the POD FX Loop Please help!!!! Thanks once again Pratik
having only one fx loop, the implementation of the abv wld b as foll:
1. set input1=guitar, input2=aux
2. set mixer 100%L + 100%R
3.connect as foll:
Guitar>>Pod HD500 guitar in-->>Comp-->>
-->FX loop send --->>external Wah--->external Dist-->>FX loop return LEFT-->>EQ-->>Pod's Amp-->
-->Pod HD500 unbalanced out LEFT--->>external MXR 10 band EQ--
-->>Pod HD500 aux in>>Delay-->> Reverb-->>Pod HD500 unbalanced out RIGHT-->>PA
4. Set the 'FX LOOP LEVEL switch'=stomp
5. set the '1/4" out switch' (on top of your POD HD500)=amp
6. use demo patch attached
7. have fun :)

During the gig I will hit a patch for a certain song and the sound engineer (when I could actually see him) would give me a thumbs up if the patch needed to be louder or a thumbs down if it needed to be lower in volume. Same thing for the lead patches. I want my leads to jump out in the mix. With setting up the patches this way I don't have to rely on the sound engineer to boost my leads. I do it on my own using the patches.
...
glenn, this approach certainly works!
as a minor improvement, hand-out a pre-printed playlist 2 the sound mad 'n ask him 2 mark with plus (+) or minus (-) the db's he suggests 4 boosting or cutting each song correspondingly (he is also making notes abt equalization of each song/patch, eg +1db mids, -2db lows, etc).
the whole procedure must start all over again when new f/w is used.
however i must report that i did not encounter any level differences when i flashed latest fw both on the jtv (2.21) and the hd500(2.62, global eq=off).

What I am trying to get away from is separate patches and just have one set up that I can control and (if needed) make changes 'on the fly'.
If you have separate patches and you want to change, say the feedback on your Delay, you have to go into each patch, make the change and then save each patch. As opposed to just changing it once and saving.
...
if one follows the multi-patch approach, one has 2 carefully set up + level all patches bfore the show, so "in-situ-tweaking" is generally considered out of the q.
different patch(es) per song means that u DO NOT TOUCH THE PATCHES when performing live (emergency cases excluded)...
-
the trick is 2 temporarily mute ur strings while changing patch...
of course delay trails will b lost...

hd500 edit reads labels from file PODX4Edit.lang, located in the programms_file directory.
u can change the labels displayed by simply editing this file.
so if u wanna change the jtv model labels, go 2 the <!---Variax Electric ---> section 'n edit accordingly.
if u have developed custom jtv patches with custom names, this is the place where u can force hd500 edit 2 read ur own specific custom names.
ATTENTION !!!! DO NOT TOUCH THE ID's, cause u will encounter problems.

Personally, I find the switching between patches within a song pretty quick and seamless, as long as the patches aren't crazy complex. I certainly don't hear any delay or glitching when I'm playing rock with the band making all of their noise. I'd recommend the OP try it and see.
this is true.
i'm running at least two patches per song (genre: classic rock);
on several occasions i may even have 4 patches (eg Hotel California).

this has nothing 2 do with L6 devices+s/w, it is merely a computer usb comm failure/timeout...
the "close-all-programs-'n-reboot" is a well known rule-of-thumb recipe :)

yea, but what abt the dep values not showing on hd edit, hd 500 usb f/w 1.04 roll back (ALREADY implemented on the hd500x) , etc...
imo these bugs shd b fixed asap...
