...And Jandrio, you're suggesting that only the drummer need hear the click through headphones? Is the entire mix in the headphones or just the synth and click? The rest of the band need not apply? Not even the bass player?
i suppose this depends on the venue: if stage monitors r available 4 the drummer, then he needs only the synth+click on his headphones, otherwise with IEMs, i suppose he needs the click track+synth PLUS the rest of the band.
... I also assume that the synth part will be fed to the monitors for the rest of the band to hear without click?
correct: synth part goes 2 the monitors 4 the rest of the band 2 hear without click.
check out this ...extraterrestrial super vid ...
... What special gear do you need to make mainstage happen live?...
i dunno abt mainstage, we r using a simple pc connected 2 the pa AND the video projector 4 above-the-stage vid show.
the playlist progression is performed manually by our backstage pc operator (band staff).

if u re-flashed ur hd500x, u must calibrate exp pedal, otherwise it will do nothing.

tboneous, tks 4 ur comments :)
no, i do not have a board mix with 1.9...
and, yes, if u wanna sound like someone who really only plugs a guitar in2 an amp, u have 2 do some work...

...If I am using MainStage for let's say a synth part, how is everyone playing on stage able to hear that synth part? ...
this is a good q.
a simple solution is:
- send the syth WITHOUT A CLICK TRACK 2 the console (this is audible by the main pa speakers)
- send the synth WITH A CLICK TRACK on the drummer's headphones, so he can hear the synth plus the click track
- everyone on stage just hears the drummer plus the synth part form the pa monitors.
we have tried this approach successfully on playing baba o'riley live an', believe me, it works.
u only need a stereo track were both channels play the synth (mono), but only one channel plays also the click track.

it is a sound idea 2 power ur electronics+amps via ups providing both uninterruptible power supply , voltage regulation, surge protection, etc...
-
Its a bit hard to hear to tell. Do you have a board mix where you can isolate the guitar? BTW Are you playing direct or through a DT?

most mixing consoles have the option of providing phantom power thru the xlr connections 2 power condenser mics.
technically speaking, phantom power is a positive voltage (12–48 V DC) on XLR pins 2 and 3 with respect to pin 1 (the cable shield is connected 2 the phantom-power ground).
when hd500(x) xlr'ed direct 2 pa, do NOT forget 2 ask the sound guy 2 cut-off phantom power in2 ur xlr connections...
usage of a di box by default cuts off phantom power, since the 1/4" jacks r connected in2 the hd500(x).
also, 1/4" cables have a length limit, so if the console is "far" enough from ur on-stage hd500(x), the sound guy MUST use xlr lines thru the so called "snake" (a bunch of many-many-may cables connecting the stage with the mixing board).

work-benching a jtv flashed with v1.90 or lower via hd500x is not supported...

excellent decision.
69s black maple i suppose... -
nice sounding nico.
may b some delay flavor wld fit in the mix in order 2 approximate david sound.
ps
since we r talkin about studio recordings, here is our money studio cover (transposed 2 dm).
this is an old one, with "traditional" gear (1972 strat+prosonic custom shop tube amp, no digital equipment, c attached foto).

here is a live demo of v2.10 JTV Spank pos 1.
patch used: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/426873/
on path B it just feeds the v2.10 JTV spank sound via a Tube Comp with a 40 ms delay.
what do u think? is it acceptable?
is 1.9 better sounding?

soundguys run in mono in small bars.
in large stages with pro equipment they do not...
-
u can also lower the patch level using the mixer level controls....
-
u can mix mags+model with workbench hd
-
try other usb port, other cable, fresh reboot, other pc..
it seems that u have a guitar-pc communication problem...
Thinking of upgrading to a JTV 69s black maple fretboard next year
