69s with d'addario NYXL0942 09-42 no problem...
both electric+acoustic models AND mags sound super (genre: classic rock).
previously used d'addario EXL120 9-42...
restringing from the stock d'addario 10s requires setup.

Then you have to file the Fender neck curvature to the frets are at the same height as the original
After verifying the distance put the neck on the body and put the 1st and 6th strings to align correctly
We hold firmly to the body and neck make the holes with appropriate depth.
Keep in mind that the front screws are shorter than the rear screws

A few days ago I changed the neck of my JTV-69S by a neck of a Fender American Special.
The guitar has improved 100%
It has a bit of work but it is easy to do
Here some photos of the two necks, the differences are in the curvature of the heel and the anchor points of the screws
The first is to close holes in the fender neck

no u cannot toggle between 2 different JTV models within a single Hd500x patch, but u can toggle sounds btween different patches.
exception: use dual path with variax+variax mags input settings in one single patch
path A=variax with ANY amp with CH VOL=0 + BYP VOL=100
path B=variax mags with Higway100 amp with CH VOL=100 + BYP VOL=0
assign both amps 2 a single FS.
when both amps r on, only path B will b audible cause CH VOL of channel A is zero.
when both amps r off, only path A will b audible cause BYP VOL of channel B is zero.
set mixer 100L + 100R 'n adjust relative levels.
examine attached demo patch.

....the pa MUST be equalized according 2 the venue sound "signature".
if this is not done, overall sound is crap.
u can check that by feeding the pa with a simple mp3 track. if it sounds good, then ur pod will also sound good.
usually if this is the case and ur patches r well designed, u shld ask the sound guy 2 have both ur 2 channels flat.
.... with bad master eq in a bad sounding venue with glass windows 'n other sound reflecting areas it really doesn't matter whether u play direct or with a tube amp; ur sound will b nasty...Why does the global eq only have to be used for room correction? Why can't it be used for a final tone shaping tool? Or are these two things the same?
what do u mean by the term "final tone shaping"?
global by default means that it will apply on ALL PATCHES.
i suppose this IS THE DEFINITION OF "final tone shaping", isn't it?

...I won't be using the Global EQ as a tone shaping tool for my patches as I EQ them differently. I'll be using it to adjust my output per venue....

Factory Reset and Updating the Flash Memory
Q: Why doesn't the Factory Reset procedure described in the manual work?
A: The reset procedure described in the JTV manual was removed from the JTV guitars to make room in the memory for the Variax HD Acoustic models that were added in flash memory update v1.80. All JTV guitars with flash memory v1.80 and newer no longer have this factory reset procedure available. -

after all, as it stands now, we can have all the non hd sounds if we use an xt/x3 on the fx loop of the hd, so what's the buzz tell me what's happening...
theoretically each model is separately and independently loaded from storage memory space in2 working memory space, so if the old hd code is not altered, i also hope that we will not suffer sound quality loss (which would be "catastrophic" 4 our laboriously crafted hd patch libraries).
