Yes. I've done it. It sounds great! Input source 1 set to Variax Mags, input source 2 set to acoustic model on the JTV. Use a dual amp tone on the HD and lock the controls. Throw in 2 volume pedals to control each amp and Bada bing, you're in!!
so finally, soundwise,there is no compromise at all.
u can hear electric (mags) from the dt and at the same time-concurrently-and-simultaneously u hear the acoustic from the L-speaker.

deactivate the amp, set by pass vol=0 'n assign the amp 2 a FS.
when u load the patch it will b muted.
press the FS 2 activate the amp 'n h start hearing ur sound...
voila!

may b it's a matter of bad vdi cable.
try using nother vdi 'n see if problem's gone...

...If you have a stagesource speaker attached to the L6 link chain, it's best to set the speaker mode to Electric Guitar and have the POD output mode set to combo or stack....
have u tried setting mode=studio direct?

does the "connection topology" have any effect?
i meand instead of using the "JTV-->HD-->DT-->L2M" topology, if u connect "JTV-->HD-->L2M-->DT, does it sound any different?

Between the verse and the "oh yeah..oh yeah" part. Clear as day. Count 1,2,3,4 over and over. Not knocking it or anything, just a pretty jarring count.
Not sure if one guy in the band taught the rest the song and none of them actually listened to it or if it was done because the actual riff at that part is kinda syncopated and maybe tricky to coordinate for everyone, but it sure got my attention.

the song consists of 4/4 measures n' 6/4 ones.
we simply "cut" 2/4, that's why u CORRECTLY mention there is a missing beat.
it's a simple mod we applied 2 our cover version of black dog.
my respects 2 ur musical "sensorineural" !

ok, it seems that u have an operating system bug.
try reinstalling the os and make sure u r virus-free...
ps
as far as i know this feature is not disabled by the registry.
check this article on how to do this.
