  1. Thanks for the input guys! I’ve just formatted my MBP but haven’t test it enough to say that it’s gone for sure. When playing live I always plug helix directly to the computer( no hub) . I also thought it could be the USB cable so I’m using different ones. I shall install the OS X driver as well. I’ll let you know how it goes in a few weeks. Thsnkd again guys
  2. Hey guys, Thanks for your replies! I am sorry that it has taken me a while to get back to this thread, but i've had a lot going on, and for some reason I missed the e-mail notifications. Ok, here we go: Yes. No, not on the guitar part. I use them as an aggregate input, guitar comes from HELIX usb and vocals come from Fireface UCX What I Mean is that there is a time gap from the moment I play a note on the guitar till the moment I hear it played back. That is a good idea, but if I do that, I will be listening to the sound that's being contained within the helix. Isn't it possible that, in case it is a Helix USB problem, only the usb audio out would be affected by it? Just a thought... also, because it is not a permanent issue, I'll have to wait until it happens to perform that test. The Helix is only outputting through USB on to the computer. the only audio coming out is from the RME. I'm using it on a mac, so I have an aggregate device for input ( so I can have inputs from the Helix and RME) and output through RME Fireface. Correct. I'm using ableton to loop the Helix input and to playback some beats. This setup worked fine for a while and then something changed... I'm formatting my Mac today hoping that it is a system issue...
  3. Ok, There's some information missing: I've been using the Helix usb audio with Ableton in a live setting for the past 5 months, and it worked perfectly until about a month ago. Nothing has changed on my setup, i'm using the same ableton session with the same config (unless some bug caused it to change something by itself) The guitar signal goes in to the Helix, which processes it, and sends it in to Ableton. Ableton is running with a buffer size of 64. The sound output is done through a RME FIREFACE UCX. This setup has been working stable (in terms of audio, MIDI is whole different story) for about 4 months, and recently started having these issues... Whenever this happens, the guitar signal stays out of sync "forever" (latency) and the only fix is to reboot the Helix...
  4. Hello guys! So "recently", while using Helix's usb audio with Ableton, sometimes the sound of my processed guitar get's out of sync, out of nowhere.... like the buffer size has increased (only in the Helix) Sometimes it has a sudden digital noise before it, and in other times it just gets out of sync without any noticeable sound fx. I wasn't sure if this was a Helix issue or an Ableton Issue, until it started happening with Logic as well.... I've tried different USB cables (although both of them are from Native instruments)... Any ideas? Thanks
  5. @phil_m I've just updated my Helix and the problem still persists... I've realised that if I turn off the midi track that's sending the Program Changes to Helix, everything works normally... Does this raise any flags? Thanks for the help!
  6. MAAAAN, that's GREAT NEWS!!! :D :D :D Thank you so much for the info!
  7. Hello Guys, I've been trying to use Ableton and Helix to create the ultimate live looping rigs, but have encountered many problems... I have dedicated buttons on the Helix to: Rec Looper 1 Undo Looper 1 Rec Looper 2 Undo Looper 2 Clear All Loopers Stop All Loopers Go to Previous Scene Go to Next Scene Launch Scene Stop Transport. The Footswitches are sending the following MIDI Note On/Off: 1:D9 2:C#9 3:C9 4:B8 5A#8 6:G9 7:F#9 8:F9 9:E9 0:D#9 I have successfully played a gig like this, but realised that i needed some improvements. So i have "Select next scene on launch" active and I am trying to have scene Launch automate loop Overdubs and use dummy clips to automate preset changes on the Helix, and this is where the problems start! Sometimes when launching a scene, the helix preset won't change, and ableton won't select the next scene. I would assume this was an ableton issue, but i've realised that in this situation the helix controller footswitch light stays on permanently, and when it's a note on/off command the footswitch light should only be on when pressed. Also, on some presets, sometimes the controller notes that i've assigned on the Helix change back to C-1 without my intervention... I am going crazy with this so if you could shed some light it would be very much appreciated. I have attached a faulty preset. Thank you so much LEAD LIVE.hlx
  8. @rd2rk i wonder if you have any thoughts on the following: I've been trying to use Ableton and Helix to create the ultimate live looping rigs, but have encountered many problems... 10. @rd2rk Sorry for the late response mate. I could trace the issue down to only two presets, which I've since deleted and replaced, and they seem to be working as intended. When you have the time do check the video, as it shows clearly the behaviour of the presets and it might be interesting for you on a curiosity level. I've since installed a MIDI Monitor and realised that whenever I change presets on the HELIX, the unit sends out this message: 13:01:49.421 From HELIX Control 1 Controller 61 0 even though I have the "Send Program Change" Option to Off in the Helix... is this normal? Thank you for your time.
  11. @rd2rk Thank you for the help. These are different presets from the ones you've tested. I live in Portugal, so calling Line6 support may turn out to be a bit expensive... I'll have some time on Saturday and i'll try to register the data with a MIDI monitor, but for now, here's a video of what's happening: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=i0UfSzCQ-kE ( If it's still sideways it's because youtube is still editing it )
  12. @rd2rk I've been working with Helix and Ableton and have had no problems since your tip. Thank you very much! However, I have to use MainStage for a gig tomorrow and I've just realised something very weird is happening: When Helix is connected to my computer, and i'm running the the concert (MainStage Session) that i'm going to use tomorrow, some midi controllers change they're notes temporarily... Example: A controller that should be sending F#9 ( and that is actually saved like that across all of the snapshots ) changes to C-1 on 3 snapshots of that preset. If I shut down the helix and restart it, it goes back to F#9... Any idea of what might be happening? Thanks in advance.
  13. Thank you SO MUCH!!! I will try this and let you know. I thought that the controllers were automatically the same across all snapshots... Thanks for the tip!
  14. @rd2rk I didn't even remembered that was possible :P Here they are! Thanks for the help. CLEAN ABLETON.hlx BASS ABLETON.hlx
  15. I forgot to say that i'm alternating between two presets. I build the first one, then copied it to another slot keeping the same controller information and just changing the guitar signal path...
