  1. It's just something I was reading about in reference to the Deluxe Reverb. Yes, there are amps that are jumpered but they are mostly Marshalls, not the Fenders. I figured both inputs were mixed before the power amp but, as we all know, the Helix doesn't have separate power amps. Thank you all for your responses.
  2. I'm not getting a straight answer from the internet. I want to simulate jumpering two amp inputs. It sounds like it's essentially the same as having the one guitar plugged into the two inputs so I would just need to use the two amps in parallel to each other going into the same cab. Like the Vib an Nrm channels in a Twin Reverb. Can anyone confirm this?
  3. I think the problem is he wants to go directly from preset 1 to preset 2 with the desired snapshot ready to go. Otherwise, going to preset 2 and THEN going to the desired snapshot for that preset would be better.
  4. If I'm understanding you correctly, you would have to dedicate a button to each iteration of the preset you wanted. i.e. One button with snapshot X and preset 2 and another one with snapshot y and preset 2.
  5. I do not really like the acoustics in the JTV Variax. The older Variax's acoustics sounded better. One thing I do is put the Acoustic Sim in the EQ section parallel to the Variax's main path. I will then judiciously mix the two. Not perfect but it helps.
  6. I use these https://www.amazon.com/Jiayouy-Guitar-Footswitch-Toppers-Protection/dp/B0B3D6FNP3/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3CO49Z79FGW8&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.pP86hVqYB6o3D0yMIDlbl7Z48VRtgYSvmszmIAwCa3wh-ALUaDEnR8P87zwjUXP17y6fwjszdorScXPoSUQyTJ51xsxt-1HynXp_3UHsiKQCe5OmUIRiaobyUA-qZmqnB6hHHCeju0-BSprno15ZOmhX1pXp9bJ4XG2QQcEwUY9cY3HoTb23AZMLW7DVQ6cw.p8DAku3Ci658RcapQyJy9pEhq3VbdeJyutQ_6vtsQrw&dib_tag=se&keywords=line%2B6%2Bhelix%2Bbutton%2Btoppers&qid=1712754500&sprefix=button%2Btoppers%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-1&th=1 The only thing about them is you lose the capacitance function where you just touch a footswitch and the associated thing comes up. There are others with a set screw that has enough connection to the switch it will perform that function. So you can just touch it on the side of the topper and get the same result. I don't use that function so I don't miss it. And the clear ones allow you to see the footswitches color.
  7. You said you connected the 1/4" guitar cable at the same time you had it powered by the CAT 5 cable. Don't do that. It could damage the circuit. If you've done this before, you may already have. I'm going to hope this next thing solves your problem. You ddin't mention this but, I have had patches where the Variax goes into magnetic mode. So your model selector will go dark. Just push the model selector knob. It will light back up and you will be able to switch models. Hope this helps. It would really suck if it's an actual problem. It sounds like this is not the issue but it's the only other thing I can think of. Check this thread out. psarkissian works for Line 6 so read what is said in that post. If you do use the 1/4" and VDI, apparently this might happen If that happens, this is the only place I know to get a replacement and they are out of them. It also says it's for a JTV-89. Not sure if there is a difference. And let's not forget that they aren't making Variax's anymore. I thought that they were required to provide support for a few years after that according to some law. Not sure if that rule/law will be followed. https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/215565-line-6-50-04-0079-2-jack-plate-assembly-for-jtv-89
  8. You can switch the pedal from linear to logarithmic. I still wish there was more control. It doesn't seem to operate exactly the way I want it to. I think it's a taper adjustment I'm looking for.
  9. I don't think that's what he was saying. I think he was saying that if you have a mono source and both the left and right outputs are plugged into something from the Helix, you will get a stereo signal provided your patch is stereo as well.. If you only have the left output going to something and nothing plugged into the right ouput, it will be mono. It's supposed to be summed but I think there may be issues. There was a thread about something like this somewhere. Try this thread. I think it may answer your questions and describe the issues with L/MONO - R ouputs. Like it doesn't sum left and right when only one thing is connected to the left ouput.
  10. Check the patch out and see if the volume knob has a number by it or says DON'T FORCE. If it isn't, put it there. There is a whole section in the manual about "Controller Assign" on page 53 of the Helix Owner's manual. I started to dig into it but it was taking too long. So you'll need to do your own homework. FYI the JTV Variax volume knob can be set to control many Helix parameters. I use it and it's pretty cool. It's obvious that somehow it is sending a MIDI message to Garageband. You'll need to check out to see what the Variax volume knob is assigned to. You'll probably have to read to manual to discover all of the possibilities.
  11. This is a HUGE guess. I haven't compared them but if the single note one's DSP is around 6X more than the poly one, my guess would be that they will be equal. But, like datacomando said, just use your ears. At the very least it will be faster. than asking here.
  12. So I will never own all of the guitars in the Variax. BUT, I can order one that's about 10" tall. I don't have a boat or any other expensive thing that I do so I'm buying the guitars that the Variax models in miniature form, one guitar-per paycheck at a time from a place called Axe Heaven. They are around $40 to $50 each. For those of you that don't know, there's a place called Axe Heaven where they create miniatures of all kinds of guitars. They look great. They do not have all of the guitars that the Variax has but does have a lot of them. They have said that they will do custom orders as long as there are 60 orders or more. So I take that to mean if there's enough interest that they will make them. If enough of you express interest, they may try to create them. Here's the website if you're interested. Some of the models aren't exactly like what you see in the Variax manual, so you do need to do some compromising if you do order from them. For example , the one Gretsch 6120 they have is a Chet Atkins model is not the same as what's in the manual. The tail piece wrong and there is no logo on the headstock. https://store.axeheaven.com/collections/10-inch-mini-guitars-and-bass/products/chet-atkins-signature-hollowbody-miniature-guitar-replica-collectible It's just a dumb fun (for me) thing to do and thought there may be more like minded people out there. I'm posting in case anyone is interested and if you are, to get you to contact Axe Heaven about it. If enough people do, who knows, maybe they will recreate the ones the Varaix has.
  13. Are you sure you're on the correct forum? This is music not games.
  14. Possible? Yes. Will it happen. No.
  15. "The problem is that in my DAW (Reaper) my bass gets until -30dBs" I am assuming you mean the bass gets distorted until -30dbs. Could it be an instrument/line/mic level issue? Check your Focusrite and see if there are different settings for the input. You didn't describe how you're connecting the bass. I'm assuming you are going directly from the bass to the Focusrite when you're not using the Stomp. Maybe check to see if Reaper has a line/instrument/mic level setting. What it sounds like to me is the input is set for a low input like a mic but the bass is at instrument level. When you try your stomp. do you set the output level to mic level? Try that as well. That's all the info I can give you for now. I would need more information for a better analysis.
  16. I experienced this the hard way as well. Took awhile to figure it out. More to the point, I had given up solving the issue and then one day I unplugged my USB cable first.
  17. Here's a good explanation of what 4 cable method is. Helix is used for it a lot. https://blog.andertons.co.uk/learn/what-is-4-cable-method
  18. I actually read a review on the QSC 12 inch and one of the comments was the great low end. May be worth looking into.
  19. IGNORE all of the labels under the switches. They have nothing to do with the instructions you were given. You have 12 switches total on the Helix LT. 6 on top, 6 on the bottom. 9 & 10 are the two middle switches on the bottom. Or count 1-6 on top, then 7-8-9 & 10. Hope this makes sense. They are also the switches labelled B & C but on the bottom row.
  20. I don't really use the Global EQ but I think it can be turned off and on on a per patch basis. Maybe that?
  21. Thank you. Unfortunately it doesn't do what I want. BUT I think it would be a good utility if you cannot even remember what IR you used. Currently I only use the IR's in my Helix so it's not a problem for now. It will be problem when my IR list exceeds the patches that I use them in, list.
  22. The one problem with the marketplace is it appears to attach what you buy to your device/computer/whatever. It's been awhile but many of the same things can be bought directly from the vendor without that "attachment"
