  1. I just got a "dent & scratch" JTV-59, and HAVE to say I've NEVER owned a finer guitar! As far as the "dent & scratch" - I've only been able to find one spot, on the top edge of the fretboard at the 2nd fret, that's about half the size of the dot markers and just a slight discoloration. No other scratches; no "dents". I am SO pleased with my buddy @sweetwater for picking this one for me! After playing nothing but A/E Takamine 12-string for roughly 15 years with a lazy left hand, then a few months with the Peavey autotune 6-string (which didn't improve my fretting at all), this one's taking a little "getting used to", but I'm MORE than willing to go through the minor inconvenience of improving my fretting technique so I can do this one justice. Here's hoping you're enjoying yours as much!
  2. I've been hanging out here for a week or so, and also the ideascale site, and affirm what ozbadman sad: LOTSA people (including me) are asking for nylon! I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't show up in the next fw update or two.
  3. Interesting. I didn't SEE any instructions with my 59. Only instructions I have are in the pdf I d/l'd from the site. However, I must agree with Mac: somewhere around 3.5 hrs (I haven't timed it, but started it just before supper and let it run 'til bedtime). That included the extra for the "last" 5% or so to get a truly full charge. Of course, our voltage here is a touch high at around 125V (rural power company, and it varies a bit more than most). (Most U.S.A. power runs within about 5% of 117V; even though most people CALL it 110, it isn't.).
  4. Figured it out and feel like a TOTAL dummy! My new anti-virus kept the Monkey from contacting the Shortboard or the Spider. I disabled it, and the update went without a hitch. Sorry I wasted your time.
  5. NOT a happy camper! Tried to check the FW versions on my Shortboard and Spider, but the Monkey doesn't see either one! Any ideas? :(
  6. Good idea, Mike! I just ordered the same mixer from Sweetwater yesterday so I can do the same thing! Been using a Fender portable amp (the little package they market for that sort of thing), but now I can carry the mixer instead, and plug my wireless headset into that, and my guitar into the Spider IV 75, and not have to mess with that other amp. :D (Later...) decided not to use the headphone-to-mp3 in - I'm just running the guitar into Input 1 (with the High Z button depressed), the headset into Input 2, and the left out into the (guitar) input of the Spider IV. Works like a charm. As an aside, my Spider IV sits under my computer desk, as that's where I normally play. My computer headphone jack is connected to the mp3 in on the Spider (so I can play along with iTunes or videos on the 'puter), and my JTV-59 into the guitar input on the Spider. I'm really lovin' it!
  7. Okay. Thanks anyway. It WAS helpful, even if I don't know what those columns are for. :)
  8. I'm with Euphoria. The pdf file RZ posted a link for doesn't come close to the artist/song presets that are in the Spider IV 75 I got three days ago, and there was no paper with mine, so, to find out what's in there, I'd have to get down on the floor, scroll through them all, then call a forklift to get me off the floor. Not happening. BTW, RZ, the last few columns of your pdf just don't compute for me. CF/P/T? D/TE/SE? D/G/W?
