Is DT-25 combo amp compatible with Line6 FB4 or FB2 foot switch?

This is what I think is happening. My tracks ALWAYS play back quieter then the output of the POD direct.

That's very strange... There shouldn't be an audible difference between 44.1 and 48kHz sample rates for anyone without superhuman >20kHz hearing. If you hear a noticeable difference on your setup, there's probably something in your sound card or OS that's doing poor quality sample rate conversion, and introducing artifacts.

 

As far as the original poster, my first inclination is a volume difference that's being heard as a quality difference.

Yea I know there is a difference in level. In recording, I cranked up the Pod's master volume to max in order to match with the direct line. Even in same volume, the quality is relatively bad in recording. Maybe it has something to do with the AD conversion? 

When you say you are using usb is this one of the usb ports on your PC or is it a usb interface. If it is a interface try putting the pod out stereo into 2 xlr/jack sockets on the interface and see if this helps with the sound.

I tried both Pod's usb and an audio interface as well (UR22). The quality drops in both cases. I used only one xlr though in mono. If I use 2 xlrs on the interface as stereo, will my sound get better?

How does the s/pdif input work exactly? The UR22 does not have a s/pdif port so I am guessing I would need a convertor for that? It only accepts balanced, unbalanced and MIDI inputs. 

I never use the USB recording method in any of my recordings. I have A/B'd it though and "in the mix" there is no audible difference. It's just so much easier to just go stereo L&R out of the POD and right into a Good Quality Aduio Interface. I am currently using a Focusrite 2i4 and also a Tascam US-2x2. Both record at 24/96 which is what you want when looking for an exrernal audio interface.

So you use both the outputs of Pod when recording? I have been using a single mono output all this time. Would you recommend unbalanced or the balanced (XLR) outputs? 

I am using Pod HD500x and Audio Technica M50x headphones. If I connect my headphones directly to the Pod HD 500, the sound I get is amazing. However, when I use the Pod for recording with USB and listen to the sound of he monitor of DAW with PodHd500X being the output, it is not that great and the quality drops a lot. How can I get the sound of Pod HD 500 (the one I get directly from headphones) into my recording? I can't seem to prevent the quality from dropping. 

Currently I have PodHd500X, Steinberg UR22 (audio interface) and Garageband. For recording, should I directly use the USB from POD into the computer? Or should I plug the output of the Pod to the input of UR22? Which method will give me better recording quality? If I use the UR22, is it better to use the balanced (XLR) output of the Pod or the unbalanced output? I tried messing around with both the methods but can't seem to distinguish much in quality. Your suggestion will be highly appreciated.

So can anyone confirm that if I run the tube amp with a load box, I would be able to hear the sound of cranked power amp tubes with adjustable volume on my interface monitors? I am not sure if the Direct Out would be silent if I use the amp with load box. I know Pod HD 500 itself is an excellent device for recording but I would really like to utilize my DT25 tones in my recordings to get a richer sound. 

I currently own a DT25 combo and a Pod HD500X which I have connected via the Line6 Link cable. I am thinking of recording some music but the Dt25 is way too loud for my bedroom therefore I cannot mic it in high volume. Of course, if I do not crank it up, I would not get the sound I would want. The LVM is not enough for quality sound since it eliminates the power amp section of the amp. 

I was thinking of investing on an audio interface like the UX2 to record my music. My plan is to connect my amp to the audio interface through the Direct Out of the amp. If I follow this approach, I could disconnect the amp's connection with its cabinet so I wouldn't get any sound from the amp itself but I would get my sound from the monitors connected to the UX2. So if I have the amp's master volume amp cranked all the way up, I could adjust the volume from on my UX2 according to how I want but my recordings should sound as if it's coming from a cranked tube amp. Essentially, I would like to get the sound of a cranked tube amp sound in my recordings without disturbing my neighbors. Do you think this is a viable approach?
