  1. @ TheRealZap Very true but there is nothing preventing developers or designers getting a better understanding of customers needs and frustrations by interacting with them. This isn't a criticism of L6 per se, it applies to most major companies. Some of the best interaction I have seen has actually been with iOS developers, which is slightly ironic...
  2. But you don't have the specific set of amps this app was designed for so you cannot link amplifi remote app with your spider amp.
  3. You do have an Amplifi 75 or 150 right? You didn't specifically say you had...
  4. @gipser. You make some valid points about the lack of manual and perhaps visibility of line6 taking suggestions on board but... These are from the Line6 site showing specs 12†custom Celestion speaker - no mention of a Vintage 30 1/4†Guitar input and 1/8†Stereo Aux input 1/4†Headphone output - no mention of output jacks for 2x12 or 4x12 with adjustable impedance, no mention of sub-woofer outboard jack Nowhere in any of the pics of the amp is there any suggestion of spring-reverb. Might be okay for a bedroom practice amp? You must have a big bedroom or severe hearing loss! Good luck with whatever you go with in the end but maybe do some research next time? And you better hope that wherever you bought the 150 from doesn't find out you've been at it with a screwdriver ;-)
  5. Did you mean to post this in the Amplifi section?
  6. Hi Freehbird, ArchtopEddy has posted a suggestion here Vote On Idea for the addition of extra banks of tomes. Would be good if you voted for this idea.
  7. Yeah Jazzmaster. J Mascis signature model.
  8. Really pleased with the amp itself and the tones out of it. I think there are a lot of unrealistic expectations out there and a lot of negativity because it is iOS (not a problem for me as a fan of apple products) and not android/windows. However, having said that the application Amplifi Remote whilst working as advertised could be so much better and would take the whole amplify experience to another level. There are some good ideas that people have put on Line6 IdeaScale that people could look at and vote for... Vote On Idea = Easy Way to Delete Favorite Tones Vote On Idea = Various enhancements to App Vote On Idea = Add more Preset Tones to Amplifi
  9. I have submitted as a new idea that you can vote on:http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/612152-23508
  10. Hi Suggestion for the forum. How about a sub-topic where users can document stored tones (with facility to import clips) and/or request them. Would be good if there was a search facility so you could see artist/song/album/genre/creator/number of hits/average rating etc Being able to do this in the app would be even better ;-) Cheers Shakey
  11. This not being able to start from scratch thing is a bit short-sighted. Think the developers could do with adding some enhancements to the whole create/save/publish aspect of the amplify remote app. If you adjust a published tone it won't let you overwrite - you need to save with another name, this will result in a large number of duplicates or near duplicates with similar names. Being able to start from a blank canvass would be great. Search by submitter or band or song would be great - especially if you didn't have to load a song first. I'd like to find all the line6-created tones but if I search I only get a few come up. Display could do with the pedal/effect name above the types in the chain, rather than you having to click on the icon to find out which pedal it represents. Would be good to drop EQ or Wah or Reverb and stick another stomp(s) in their place. The idea of saving tones in groups like playlists (which someone else suggested) is a good idea as is ArchTopEddy's more than 4 presets in the amp itself. These refinements would make a good application much, much better... Regards Shakey
  12. ...and this might help slightly from http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/t1479-david-gilmour-sounds-silence-guitar.html GW: What can you tell me about "The Division Bell"'s guitar instrumental "Marooned"? DG: It's amazing how far I can bend those notes, isn't it? [laughs] GW: I'll say. How do you achieve those wild, octave-wide, bends? DG: A Digitech Whammy Pedal. It's a great little unit, but I haven't even begun to explore half the things it does. The fact that it allows you to bend a note a full octave is quite shocking. It's so odd. GW: You seem to use the effect very naturally -- I almost didn't notice it at first. Did you practice with it a lot before you recorded "Marooned"? DG: No. [laughs] I think we basically wrote the first version of it the day I got the pedal. I still don't think I use it very effectively, but it's a very good pedal. GW: How much of "Marooned" is improvised? DG: Pretty much all of it. I probably took three or four passes at it and took the best bits out of each.
  13. You could try and build one yourself with Amplifi Remote and info on the net: From http://www.kitrae.net/music/David_Gilmour_Effects_And_Gear.html For Pink Floyd tones from the Momentary Lapse of Reason, Division Bell, and Pulse era you need: A Ross type compressor, Sovtek Big Muff or Sovtek Muff clone, Tube Driver or other smooth overdrive type pedal, warm sounding digital delay, and modulation like Boss chorus and a Uvi-Vibe type pedal. Additional pedals like a Digitech Whammy (for Marooned andThe Blue) and a volume pedal can be used for certain songs. An EQ pedal like a Boss GE-7 can also be usefull to boost the mids or lows. EMG-SA pickups were also key to the tones from this era. From Wikipedia: The piece was written by David Gilmour and Richard Wright.[1] It has sounds that describe the setting as an island (such as seagulls and waves crashing on the shore). It was composed while jamming aboard the Astoria in early 1993. The high-pitch guitar sounds on the track came from a Whammy pedal which makes the guitar sound an octave higher,[2] also known as a pitch shifter. Also in the background can be heard the wailing guitar effects from the original recording of the Pink Floyd song "Echoes", which were redubbed onto this song by Gilmour for increased textural effect.
  14. Voted for this idea which will massively expand the possibilities of this product :-)
  15. Wiped the app from my iPhone, re-added and all fine now :-)
  16. Cheers Eddy, will do. What kind of arch top are you toting btw?
  17. Nick & charlie - thanks. I thought I might have missed something but seems not :-)
  18. Thanks Eddy - I'd better start noting where the tines come from now then! Or follow your suggestion.
  19. I have the same thing. Thinking the 1.00.1 refers to the version of Amplifi Remote application rather than the Firmware on the amp itself? In theory you could be using the same Amplifi Remote with two different amps with tow different versions of firmware.
  20. I have also had this happen to me today - to the point that I ended up playing through my Mac so I could at get some time with hands on a guitar! I have the latest iPhone with latest updates (iOS 7.1) on it, updated the Amplifi (75) to the latest firmware yesterday. I can play music via amplifi remote app to the amp but none of the tones affect the sound if I try them. My iPhone has just died (bluetooth really seems a drain) but I couldn't use the level button or tuner button and (greyed out) and the little icon of the AMPLIFi remote app had synching next to it. I am logged into my line6 account on the app. AMPLIFi remote version is V 1.00.1 I am right in thinking I can either select a track and it should find tone(s) which if i select will change the settings on the amp, or I can just select one stored in favourites (meaning it has a red bar with a speaker icon) and that should change the tone appropriately right? Nothing more complicated than that? Phone was sitting on the amp at the time. Ser No of amp is (21) *************** I do also have the amplify app on the iPad too and have created/saved to favourites on both the iPad and iPhone but cannot check the iPad right now it as my wife is using it :-( Amp seems great but app seems pretty flaky right now if I'm being honest. I'm hoping it will be stabilised and functionality improved too: compared to many of the music apps I have it isn't great. Concept is fantastic and I am sure all minor issues will be ironed out shortly... A user guide would be helpful - is there one and have I just missed it or is t supposed to be so intuitive no-one needs one? One other query - how do I remove a tone from my favourites? Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks Shakey
  21. Anyone have any issues with the amplif app overwriting the music settings on their iPhone? I had iTunes match but v little on my iPhone. I found that if I changed the amplify app settings to "hide songs not on this device" it did the same within iTunes.

  23. Hi Newbie here Just got there Amplifi 75 yesterday and maybe I've missed it but how do I create a tone from scratch using the iOS App? I can see that I can modify a tone and rename but how do I create one from fresh? Regards Shakey
