  1. I have a Firehawk - which has a Silver Jubilee - and I can get a great Bonamassa like mid-range honk sound a la Beacon/SloeGin. I bought a Helix about a year ago thinking I would have that sound plus more. Its been elusive....close but elusive. Lots of good purchased patches from Glenn or Marco come close but its just not the same. I wish Helix would include the Jubilee!

BTW, the Helix features and sound quality exceed the Firehawk....but I can't get that tone!

  2. I have found "updating" a tone - adjusting parameter and saving as new tone with new name to "My Tones" can sometimes appear as if it overwrites a tone. I go to "My Tones" list and don't see the new tone or I see 2 tones of the same name. I have found that exiting app and restarting app most of the time clears this up. Its my assumption that the MyTones database gets temporarily confused.....  This is another reason why I transfer all settings to an excel file for safe keeping.

  3. I do not own 2 FH, but I have numerous bluetooth devices in my house.

In the FH menu, at the bottom is a Settings tab. Within that, is a "Devices" area where you can select which Device to speak to the app. My best guess is you could then select the FH of choice.

Alternatively, you can hold the unwanted FH bluetooth button down to turn off bluetooth (or flip the power switch off).

I find the bluetooth connectivity a little picky so I often have to reintialize my app (android phone) with my FH.

  4. I often have same issue.

I use my Android phone to connect to Firehawk.

I have found that I have to turn off all other bluetooth devices I normally use with my phone - my phone earpiece.

Then turn bluetooth off/on and try to pair using button on FH.

I do this everytime I want to use Firehawk.

Otherwise FH will intermittently lose pairing....or more probably my phone and earpiece are taking  priority.

Its kind of a pain, but it works.

  5. I have a nice warm bluesy sound...its not quite ready for publishing, but I like it so far. I've only had Firehawk for 3 weeks so its a work in progress

Guitar -> Firehawk -> PA speaker

Guitar: Gibson Les Paul (Neck pickup/vol:5-10/tone:7) ->

1992 Brit Gain J-900 Clean [settings top to bottom: 83/40/50/0/30/65]  w/ 4x12 Green 25's [settings top to bottom: 30/57S]->

    {effects:TS/Tremelo/Delay/Reverb} ->

    Deura SBA-115 (or headphones)

  6. Variac –           NoMove/FixedType

    Gate –             NoMove/FixedType

    Vol –                YesMove/FixedType

    Wah-                NoMove/FixedType

    WILD-              YesMove/AssignType

    WILD-              YesMove/AssignType

    WILD-              YesMove/AssignType

    Amp-                YesMove/FixedType

    Eq-                   YesMove/FixedType

    FxLoop-           YesMove/FixedType

    Reverb-           YesMove/FixedType

    Looper-            YesMove/FixedType

"wildcard" blocks can be: drives/dynamics, mods, delays, or filter/synths,pitch

Some FX blocks are fixed-type (Variac, Gate, EQ, Wah, Vol, Amp, Comp, Looper, and FX Loop). These can be moved to a different position (but not necessarily any position) in the signal chain

  7. In the spirit of contributing, I thought I would share some of the challenges for a new Firehawk user. I bought the Firehawk primarily for the tone library, so I naturally dove right into trying the remote app upon opening the box. Here are some tips I would recommend for a new user.

    1-Get a Line6 account (http://line6.com/support/index.php)

2-Unbox Firehawk; turn on; try it out to ensure it is working

3-Download Firehawk FX from App Store (I have an iPad)

4-You may very well need to upgrade your Firehawk firmware…so go to (http://line6.com/software/index.html)

5-I used Windows to upload software, so download ASIO driver; install on Windows

6-Download Line 6 Updater Installer; install on Windows

    7-Upgrade firmware on board

    8-Connect via Bluetooth

    9-Try editing a tone.

    10-Done

NOTE: You don’t really “control†Firehawk FX with the Remote App. Think of it as a tone editor that sends edited tones to the currently selected bank. You can then edit the tone WHILE the Firehawk is in edit mode. Very cool, but different mindset. It is not like a TV remote that permits you to control the TV channel(s).

    Hope this helps someone.

  8. Thanks, this confirms my suspicions that the remote app is really targeted for editing.....which is great, but a far cry from "Wirelessly control and edit every aspect of your guitar rig."

I wish the documentation was more robust; especially the remote app. For me, the editing/tone library is why I bought the Firehawk and while some of it is fairly intuitive, much is not....hence a "vote" for crowd-sourced documentation.

  9. Thanks, Silverhead.

When I do this, my selection is put into the current board selection but in edit mode. So for instance:

Firehawk FX pedal board set on "2A Wind Cries Mary"

I select 10B via remote app.

Firehawk FX pedal board changes to "2A{dot} Still of the Night"

which I understand is essentially me editing bank 2A with 10B parameters.....

I'm just trying to switch the board to 10B without using footswitches.

  10. I completely agree. I have spent hours scouring the internet for some basics. It seems some of the more complex tasks are documented in the forms, but not some of the basics. Better documentation is a must.

Here is a basic question that I still don't know the answer:

** How can I select a different preset using the remote app? **

The manual states, "Wirelessly control and edit every aspect of your guitar rig." I just want to change the patch.... I haven't even journeyed (yet) into tone modelling.
