  1. I do aggressive cuts on the cab block and follow it with a Parametric EQs high and low cuts set just outside of the cab cuts, with steeper rolloff points so the EQ curve tapers instead of brickwalling with just the steep cuts
  2. Same thing with dual cabs. You can't change the first cabinet workout resetting the second one
  3. I've finally finished my Full Metal Preset Pack for all your Helix Metalheads. 13 Presets with stock dual cabs, snapshots, and EQs to cut fizz and flub. You get Crunchy, Tight, Scooped, and Lead sounds for your tapping and chugging pleasure. 100% Free!! http://bit.ly/FullMetalPack Enjoy!
  4. Hey there Helix comrades! Ive created another sample preset pack for you all, this time focusing on Ambient sounds. These are 4 simple matched amp and dual cab presets with no snaps, utilizing parallel paths and effects to twist the sands of time. Download and enjoy! Alex http://bit.ly/AmbientSample
  5. Helix Floor, Current. Using Editor. Dual delay in signal chain. Left mix assigned to stomp. Rename, change LED color, save. go back to controller assignments, select left mix again, name and color get reset.
  6. Helix already has a fizz eliminator, the Parametric EQ!
  7. http://bit.ly/LoneWolvesPack the Lone Wolves Pack (double oxymoronic, I know). This pack contains those one-off amps like the OR80, Silvertone and the E-185.
  8. I'd make time for that! Creating your own harmonizing scales sounds like fun!
  9. I've even gone as far as placing the Dual Harmony on a separate path followed by several EQ blocks to get it sounding right while I am creating a preset but it usually all gets thrown out the window and doesn't make that much a difference in a full mix anyway. And though I barely use it anymore I still have my super shifter and I'm never getting rid of it!
  10. The pitch effects aren't perfect but if you know how to work em, you can work em. One of my bands has a couple songs where I use the pitch wham before any other effects, at a fixed pitch to simulate down tuning to E1. The mix is at about 86% and there is some eq going on after, but it works pretty well. For harmonies I stick the dual harmony in between the amp and cab so the cab block an filter any annoying high frequencies that sound wobbly and unnatural
  11. Free Metal Sample Pack!!! Four barebones metal presets to build from: Mesa Dual Rectifier, ENGL Fireball, Peavey 5150 and the PRS Archon. Each preset uses dual stock cabs (not matched cabs this time) and the amps are goosed with an overdrive and gated. Enjoy. http://bit.ly/MetalSamplePack
  12. Hey there. I'm in the process of making preset packs. What I have for everyone today are 3 of my 100% free Preset Starter Packs aimed at new users. These presets have a single amp block, a dual cab version of that amp's matching stock cabinet with high and low cuts, a compressor, maybe a drive or two, and maybe a tremolo or reverb. Nothing complex, no snapshots, just stomps and maybe a controller assignment attached to a stomp here or there. These are designed for use with a full range monitoring system and utilize both paths for easy DSP access and usage. The idea is download, find one that you like, and build it up. More to come, let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy. http://bit.ly/2gT05E4 - Fender Pack http://bit.ly/2wRzjFC - Marshall Pack http://bit.ly/2fbRxIH - Voxy Pack
  13. An updated vocoder would be cool. I couldn't get it to work on the HD
  14. Ignore the yellow fine tuner at the top
  15. I hope they're anything better than the last thump series. I tried one a few years ago with my HD500X and it sounded bad. Like the whole cabinet enclosure rattled kind of bad. The Alto I bought then was a hundred times better.
  16. If he's running full models tell him to increase bias and decrease drive until he finds a balance. If there's an annoying frequency don't shelve the high frequencies, notch and cut the offending frequencies with a Parametric EQ
  17. I'd get one just to get a small face blast of my signal. attach it to a mic stand. I'd probably draw a face on it and give it a hat, turn it into a stage prop and use it to entertain the audience. Sold. A buddy of mine has a Eurorack 2000 Poweramp/Mixer that can power a full stack with great volume. I have a couple little Behringer mixers that are very useful and my wife (public school teacher who volunteers time to teach kids basic guitar and drums) acquired a grant and bought Behringer's small Europort PA system which is really a Fender Passport knockoff but WAAAY louder with more features and effects than you need for an application like that. Over the summer it was used as my band room's PA, integrated with my little Behringer Mixer and my Yamaha HS8s, fun for days. Anyway, Behringer can be hit or miss, more miss than hit once upon a time but they do have some good stuff.
  18. I just got my Helix back from repair. It almost never connected and when it did, it was only for a short time. This was across all computers i had access to. They replaced the MCU DSP board and so far so good
  19. If you compare the list of amp models to the list of filter effects, plentiful seems like a fitting word. Not trying to argue, but different strokes for different folks. I am in no way saying L6 needs to ease up in the Amps department. After all, it is their original Forte
  20. The amp list is plentiful. Have you SEEN the filter effects lately? At least we have all the reverbs from the HD!

    Alto ts212

My band owns two 212s and I have an older 112. Works great, almost not enough for pummeling metal but gets by. Anything less than pummeling metal and you'll be good.
