  1. MS Fix it doesn´t work. Mayby it´s because of Windows 10... The cable looks ggod and clean. I have no trouble using HD Edit or updating the device so why would it be the cable? What type of cable is it? Also after some crashes, the output seem to get lower on my pod through headphones until a unplug/plug the power....
  2. I have the latest version of Reaper now (paid for). I tried all the USB ports and I have disabled any power managament linked to them. A couple of days ago the BSODs linked to the L6 driver and the Pod HD, which I have now updated. Today I played around a bit and mangaged to use and record with reaper for a while but then I got BSOD again. I have had 2 in the last 45 min and now it says something about "Kernel Security Check Failure"...
  3. One more thing that might help. Im using an evaluation version of Reaper. The trial days has run out, but once in a while it updates and it still works. MAYBE it's this that causing it?
  4. No I do not have a Nvida video card. Thanks for the tips. will look into it... It´s obvious that it´s the pod hd500x that´s causing the crash since it clearly says that is that driver causing the crash in blue screen. Shouldn´t this be something for L6 to fix since it´s quite common to happen? I just realized that I hade the laptop running on battery power (I have a really long battery time) while trying to record and getting the crashes. Might that have contributed to the problem?
  5. The most recent crashes today has been while using one of the left USB ports (only one on the left side seem to be working with the Pod). Yesterday I tried the one the right side and had the same problem, although I havn´t tried the right side after all the updates... My Laptop is a HP Pavilion 14-al090no (Energy Star)
  6. I tried all of that. Windows still goes to blue screen after a while...
  7. I tried this but didn´t work...
  8. I´ve had similar problems with crash/reboot before when disconecting the Pod HD, but not like this. Now that I´m thinking of it, this is the first time I´m trying to record something with this computer. One other thing. I hade Chrome running in the background with a Youtube video on BUT PAUSED. Might this be the issue...?
  9. I´ve updated the l6 driver... How can I run Reaper in Windows 7 compability mode when I got Windows 10?
  10. It´s a quite new laptop and I don´t have other divices or a USB hub. I uppdated drivers for video and audio. chipset drivers? BIOS?
  11. Like the title says, Windows 10 kept crashing multiple times today when I tried to record someting i Reaper. It just went to blue screen. VERY ANOYING. I´ve seen simular threads like this but without a fix. How do I fix this? I´ve reinstalled Line 6 drivers aswell as Windows for sound. No results. The pod HD500 is my only recording interface.
  12. Thank you! Lots of stuff to try out and think about. If I get an 6 db increase in volume, does that mean that I have to set both A + B paths to - 6 db or is it just - 3 db for both? I use Reaper but forgot how to check the signal level. I think it was right click in input or something....?
  13. Thanks, and I do get it so for. Lets say that I keep the amp model PRE mixer and also set path B to 0 % pan an 0 db along with the A path. Now my signal/volume has gone up. By how much (db)? If I know how much the signal gets increased by doing this, I should be able to compensate with just lowering both A and B with a few db and then getting the same results when placing the amp block POST mixer? I also have it set to input one: Guitar and input 2: Variax if that helps.
  14. Hello! The Pod HD 500x internal routing is really confusing and I´ve been reading and searching through the forum, but I´m still not getting it. My current settup is my bass going in to the pod hd, then I have a single signal path with different fx blocks going into a single amp model BEFORE the split and then the L mixer pan at 0% with 0 db and R at mute. After the mixer I have 2 more fx blocks. One of the fx blocks before the amp model (second block) is a fx loop with an external drive pedal. This setup sounds really good and I´m quite happy with the sounds I´m getting. One thing that would improve my tone is by somehow being able to mix the distorted signal from my external drive with my clean tone so I don´t loose all my low end when I engage the fx loop/external drive. I know there are external blend pedals that work but it ought to be possible to do this internaly? If I move my amp AFTER the mixer I have the possibility to get to signals into my amp, one "clean"/fx and another one with my FX loop and external drive. The problem is when you do this it is possible to boost the amp with the mixer. To my question: How do you set the mixer settings with path A + B so you have the SAME signal hitting the amp block AFTER the mixer, compared as if you had the amp block before the mixer (with above mentioned settings)? I´m mostly using it with headphones so I want to be able to get sound in both ears! Besides that, mono is totaly ok. Or should I just buy an external blender? /Danne
  15. So, something is obviously wrong. Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing this? Maybe mine´s just wired backwards? ;) Regarding the mix, that sounds like it controls the signal going IN to the external stomp box rather than the mix of the external signal with the internal?
  16. Hello I´m using an external drive (Tech 21 GT2) in my HD 500X fx koop and when I set the little switch to "stomp" the signal goes really "loud" and "hot" without sounding good. I now use it on the "line" - setting and that gives a more "normal" signal and sounds quite good, but shouldn´t it be the other way around? Shouldn´t the "stomp"-setting provide an instrument signal that is good for external stomp boxes and the "line"-setting a hotter signal? I have the fx loop with send/return at standard settings. Also, what does the fx loop mix do? Doesn´t seem like it controls the "mix/blend" of the external pedal to my signal.
  17. Thank you. That´s wierd.... Have to investigate it!
  18. So stomp it is...? In my experience it makes the external drive pedal LOUDER than line. Shouldn´t it be the other way around?
  19. Speaking of putting external drive pedals in the FX Loop... What would be the optimal settings for an distortion pedal for example? Setting send/return to neutral? Stomp or line?
  20. Still soo wierd that the XT has a clipping indicator but the HD doesn¨t!
  21. Does the POD HD have a function where it tells you if you´re clippng??? I´ve never sen that with my HD 500X.... :O I´m using the same cab with the 12-someting mic. ER set to 2%. In the cab DEP´s there is a control for "low cut" where you can cut the sub freq!
  22. Good tips! Though, I have tried most of them except the SVT model. Will try that one when I get the time. What type of music are you playing? The clip indicator? You mean in your DAW right? Also, mind charing what cab you´re using and how you set the low cut? :)
  23. Gonna try that when I get my bass back from the chop. It´s a 4 string with 2 active/passive humbuckers. I`ve been using the Pad aswell. but don´t know if I like what it´s doing to the tone. I´m using the "Cougar 800" with tube comp, pich glide, dist (in fx loop), chorus, flanger before amp. Then delay and mid focus after mixer. The mid focus is set up like a hi/low pass filter, but I´m probably overdriving it so thinking about removing it and using the cab DEP instead. I find it hard to get a good gritt in the tone without overdriving the "amp" in a bad way!
