  1. What happened last night for me was that the transimitter didn't go in to sleep mode as expected. I had left it plugged into the guitar after sound check, came back over an hr or so later and it was still powered up, no big deal, I just plugged it back into the charger. This did happen a couple of weeks ago, but I put it down to maybe the pick ups on the guitar picking up ambient noises and keeping the transmitter active?
  2. I too have noticed that, if the base isn't powered up and you plug the transmitter in the halo on the base unit still pulses and the led on the transmitter lights up. Oversight maybe?
  3. Upon buying my G10's I came across the minor problem of being able to power them from a standard Boss BCB 9v power supply and not cause fatal damage to the units. I had a chat with the techie who does all my repairs and upgrades and this was the answer. A small PCB board with two fullsize USB inputs at one end and the ability to plug in one of the spare 9v power supplies at the other, but to do this you first have to snip the barrel connector off. The board is regulated so no more than the 5v that is needed will pass through. The small board fits nicely in the channel were all your cables go, to stop the board from shorting on the metal casing of the pedal board it has been housed between some protector and also not shown on the photo's is two pieces of foam that sit at either end stopping any movement. I also purchased a left angle 30cm USB to micro USB instead of the stock cable which was far too long. Just to add, when I took these photo's the power cable going into the PCB hadn't been insulated. Hope this helps some of you with the same problem.
  4. I have had both, according to Line 6 the G10 has the same electronics as the G30, so why should it sound different? I use my G10's for bass and 12 string rickenbacker, I cannot hear any difference in tone from between the G10 or my old G30's. And I doubt the audience would be able to tell either.
  5. There's your answer, stick with the cable, but lose the freedom.
  6. Hi, If I leave my transmitters plugged in to my guitars they tend to go into sleep mode within 4 or 5mins only to re-awaken once it detects a signal from the string. When I first bought both my G10's, the receiver didn't change to green even after 15hrs of charging, but once I removed it and plugged the transmitter into the guitar and then back into the receiver all worked as per the manual.
  7. Thanks for that, I had a work with my tech and he said he can make something just like you mentioned in your post, so that is the next job. Thanks
  8. Hi, Not at all, just like using any other Line 6 wireless product. We use two G10's on stage, one for bass and the other for 12 string, works great. Buy one.......:)
  9. Try this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-POWER-SUPPLY-ADAPTER-FOR-LINE6-G30-G50-XD-V55HS-XD-V35-XD-V35L-XD-V75-/201104332322?hash=item2ed2c09622:g:stAAAOxyThVTYn6C This one is based in the UK. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LINE-6-DC-1G-POWER-SUPPLY-REPLACEMENT-ADAPTER-UK-9V-GENUINE-LINE-6-PSU-/222146257319?hash=item33b8f2e1a7:g:xksAAOSwQupXWDv9
  10. It comes with a PSU that can house various fitments depending on which part of the world you are from, it plugs into a standard 3 pin plug. The PSU inputs 240v but only outputs 5.5v. As I wanted to put my G10 into a Boss BCB board and power it from one of the 9v outlets, I am now having to have a special box made that step down from 9v to 5.5v and will enable me to connect it to a standard 9v outlet on my board. Apart from that it is a great idea.
  11. Up until two weeks ago I had been using 3 G30's for just over three years. I bought two G10's and have used them twice so far, they have the same internal tech as the G30 and perform just the same. In my opinion, better. No batteries or a back pack to fall off my guitar strap. Buy one you will not regret it. The only negative for me is the 5v micro USB power supply as opposed to the standard 9v PSU. :)
  12. I have had my two for the last fortnight here in UK.
  13. Not to rub salt in the wounds, but, I remember a salesman trying to sell me an M20D when they first came out. At that time I was thinking of moving across to digital and the Line 6 board looked interesting, albeit, a bit childlike and aimed at the less technical of users out there. Over the course of the next 12 months or so I did my research on what was out or coming out to see what would suit my needs best, eventually I opted for the Allen & Heath QU-16, more expensive, but you are buying in to a company that has many years of experience within the live sound market. Not an excessively steep learning curve, but handy if you have an idea in regards to live sound etc. At the time of first being offered the M20D it RRP here in the UK was £1499.00, only a few months later it had been reduced to £999.00 and not long after that the major music store here in the UK stopped selling it. That tells you something. If you can afford to I would be moving your M20D's on and look for a better product that is still being constantly updated/improved and that is of better quality. :)
  14. Maybe I have got it the wrong way round, it works as per my video, as you can see from that they're both working correctly.
  15. You're quite right, I did. But once I returned to it after a full days charging and removed it from it's base station and then put it back it did what you see in the video. The second unit did exactly the same thing, the base station never changed from pulsing red all day, not until I removed the transmitter and then put it it back. Only then did the lights change colour to represent the current state. Anyway, both are working as per the manual.
  16. Bruno, Does your G10 not do this?
  17. This is to show the current charging state of my Line 6 G10's and what the led lights show on both the base unit and transmitter. Both these G10's were used last and both at the same time for the first part of our show, the yellow and blue tape is to identify that the correct transmitter mates up with the correct receiver. I had an instance last night during sound check were both transmitter will work with either receiver, but not when they are both activated, one would connect but the other wouldn't. If I was using just one G10 it wouldn't matter which transmitter I was using with which receiver, but when using both at the same time, the transmitter that came in the box with the said receiver is the one you have to use, hence the tape. So both worked flawlessly and to be honest better than my previous G30's, one of my G30's would always suffer minor drop outs whereas the other one wouldn't, this didn't happen last night. As per the instructions, once the transmitters have been dorment for a number of minutes they go in to sleep mode and then reawaken the minute you play the guitar. Worked as described. Just to add, the blue transmitters LED went to a solid green light as soon as I stopped filming indicating fully charged. As you can see from the short clip, everything is working as per the manual.
  18. I used both my G10's last night and both at the same time for the first part of the show, soon as I plugged the transmitters into the base unit it flashed red to indicat charging, but within 20 mins they were both white to indicate fully charged. So both are working as per normal. :)
  19. As I responded to your post on another thread, leave the unit charging for around 4hrs, remove transmitter and the base unit halo should flash white until it connects with the transmitter, the transmitter will falsh green until it connects and then will stay green and not flash, unless it is getting low on charge. Plug the fully charged transmitter back in the base station and the transmitter will flash green and the base unit will be a steady white. Check out my clips on the other blog that you posted on. :)
  20. Check these short clips out that I have just recorded highlighting G10 lights etc. http://vid18.photobucket.com/albums/b108/leeroysilk/P1030499_zpsewxhk0zn.mp4 http://vid18.photobucket.com/albums/b108/leeroysilk/P1030500_zpstxr4yycj.mp4
  21. After removing the transmitter from the base unit and plugging into your guitar for the first time, the base unit halo turns white and flashes until it has connected with the transmitter, the transmitter flashes green then illuminates green constantly. When you plug the transimtter back in to the base unit it starts to flash green and the halo is a constant white.
  22. I have taken stock of my second G10 today and plugged it in to charge, no lights flashing on the transmitter just the red halo pulsing indicating charging. Whether the manual is incorrect, but the only time my transimtter lights up is if I remove it from the base unit. This is my latest G10 that was put on charge at 12pm today, this clip was recorded at 20.25pm and still the red halo pulses. http://vid18.photobucket.com/albums/b108/leeroysilk/P1030498_zpsu5gddk1t.mp4
  23. As I have mentioned on other posts, I have just recently bought two G10's to replace my existing G30's. Here is the problem I encountered today upon receiving my second G10. One G10 is used for bass guitar that is fine; however I had my second G30 sat within a Boss BCB pedal board taking power direct from the board's PSU. This is where my problem lies, the G10 base unit will fit in just fine, but due to the new unit taking power from a USB plug and not a regular 9v adaptor, I wondered what is out there to enable me to convert micro USB to 9v? Can anyone shed any light on this? By he way I am based within the UK. Thanks :)
  24. I used my G10 for the first time last weekend and think it is an excellent piece of equipment, no danger of it falling out. So pleased with it I have just ordered another one and will sell off two of my G30's and just keep one G30 as a spare.
  25. I use Energizer 2400/2600 mAh rechargeable batteries and on average get 4 gigs out of them. That includes sound check and either a 1hr 30min or 1hr show per gig. Can't grumble really. The rechargeable's last a lot longer than Duracell non rechargeable batteries.
