  1. The Relay G10t is not compatible with Spider V 30. G10t is only compatible with Spider V 60 and above.

If you need a smaller amp that is compatible with G10t you can also check out the Yamaha THR ii wireless. It is also compatible with the G10t.

I just got my Powercab 112 Plus a month ago. Totally digging it!
I haven't seen a thread on LINE6 Helix, Powercab forums or over on TGP to answer my question.
Got a Princeton Reverb for Christmas in '67 and had nothing but SS amps after that and been using Line 6 stuff since the POD XT Live with all the next latest and greatest units. In other words  - I'm ignorant of this stuff.

I'm trying to choose the appropriate PC+ speaker models to match my HelixLT default cab sims.
Which speaker models in the Powercab+ match up to Helix cab sims?
By default Helix links US Double Nrm amp version with 212 Double C12N,  Brit J45 Nrm with 412 Greenback 20, MatchstickCh2 with 212 G25, Jazz Rivet with 212 Jazz Rivet, etc.
Which Helix cab sims match the 12 PC+ speaker models?  Based on the PC+ manual, I think that some are obvious: Jetson and Jarvis go with Fenders, Essex goes with Vox Blue Bell, Lecto and Shade to Mesa, Green to Marshall match but the other non trademark Line6 PC+ speaker code names don't tell me a whole lot. What about the rest of them in the PC+ models? Not asking which match of speaker model to amp sound best (that's subjective and I know that we can mix and match to our tastes) - but which are typically used together?

Not every speaker model has a specific matching amp. You are correct that jensons are closely related with Fender, Greenbacks with Marshall, etc. But something like DINO (cannabis rex) is a custom speaker that I've seen end up in a lot of different amps, for a lot of different styles of music.
Typically when running Helix with PowerCab, you'll want to disable the cab modeling in Helix. This lets you use powercab's physical cabinet and digitally switch speaker models. I think matching up amp models with expected speaker model is a good starting point. I've found some cool tones by mixing and matching unexpected combinations as well.

I've already updated to the latest firmware. But I still can't see the HD-Amps and HD-Effects.

There are no HD Amps/Effects in Spider V. The complete model list is available below:

  4. It sounds like you may have found the model list for a different product. You are correct Spider V only has the 4 amp categories. The link below is a full list of the amps/effects in Spider V.

Your Spider V can become a Spider V MkII with a simple firmware update. MkII adds new redesigned factory presets and the option of Classic or FRFR speaker mode in each preset. Classic speaker mode disables the tweeter and Spider V functions like a traditional guitar amp. If you do decide to update to the latest firmware be sure to back up any presets you want to save with the Spider Remote app.

  5. The Spider PC app is the same for all Spider V models, from the 20 up to the 240.

From my previous link, you can use the "All Software" pull down menu to locate Spider V remote. You'll be taken to a download page, just be sure to choose the right OS.

  6. PodGO has a computer editor, but it does not have an editor for mobile device like Spider V/Spider Remote.

User created tones can be downloaded from customtone.com for PodGO.

You will find a lot of similar amps/cabs/effects between PodGO and Spider V, but the PodGO uses the same model set found in Helix, so the quality of modeling is much higher. PodGO also has an effects loop so you can easily use it with other external pedals.

  7. To save presets on Spider V, press and hold the rotary encoder knob. You will be prompted to press and hold again to save. You can also use the free Spider V Remote app for ios/android or mac/PC to edit and save presets.

  8. Each preset will have noise gate, wah, volume pedal, compressor, EQ, reverb and 3 open spots to assign the effects of your choice.

The Spider Remote app is free to download for computer or smart device, if you would like to check it out the features and browse the amps/effects.  Here are a few screenshots from the app:

  9. Spider V comes bundled with Cubase LE recording software. Just register your amp in your Line 6 account and you will be sent a link to download Cubase LE. To record with Spider V; connect the amp to your computer via USB, make sure the selector switch on the back of the amp is set to the correct USB port. If you are using a PC you will need to download the correct drivers from line6.com/software. Once your Spider V is connected to your computer, open your recording software and select Spider V as your input and output in the audio settings.

Excuse my ignorance but I have a couple of questions about FR vs Classic modes:

    1) if you switch to Classic Mode (in the cabinet section if using the App) does that effectively negate whatever cabinet was chosen so you don’t need to worry about it or the mic position?

    2) when trying to get close to an artists tone (this will likely be subjective I am guessing) but would FR be better for that or Classic (in your opinions)?

    Thanks in advance.

Classic mode will turn off the cab and mic model. You will be playing through the amp model and using the physical cab.

I like to think of FR vs Classic as Recorded tone vs Amp in the Room. In FR mode you have an amp model + cab model + mic model. Whenever you are listening to a record you are hearing the recorded tone of that amp, which means you're hearing the amp, microphone, and anything post that. In classic mode you are using the physical cab instead of a modeled cab, so there is no microphone model. This is closer to the sound of sitting in the room with your favorite amp, rather than hearing one played back on a record or mic'd up and played back through studio monitors.

  11. I would look at the 10 band EQ and see if every one of the frequencies is being used to shape the sound. If only a couple of areas are EQ'd then you can translate that to Spider V's PEQ. In an instance where more than 4 bands are being EQ'd it will likely involve some guesswork and going by ear. Try to visualize the EQ curve created by the 10 band EQ and then try and and recreate it the best you can in Spider V.
