The FBV3 works really well with the Spider V and you get the led colours to match what you have on the am, so you know witch switch is your tube screamer just by looking for the yellow led for example.
-
If you tell us what problems you are having maybe someone here can help.. The Spider V does not work with older Apple devices, but you can't blame Line6 for Apple changing connectors. The feedback seems that the app works reasonably well on current devices.
-
You can save them to my tone on your tablet or phone. Otherwise you must use one of the 32 banks on the amp. I'm not in front of the amp but I think the last one is empty by default.

Did you install the line6 asio drivers? http://line6.com/software/index.html Select Spider V and Drivers Once you have the driver installed make sure you select Spider V asio in Cubase as audio interface No drivers needed on Mac btw
-
When you register your amp with Line6 you get a code to download CUBASE On this page there is a link to where you can register your amp: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/spider-v/spider-v-3060120240240hc-faq-r834

There is no speaker output on the V240 combo. If you want to use external speakers look at the 240HC which has both internal speakers and external outputs.

The square USB connector on the Spider is a USB type B. You get a type B to type A cable, they are very common, just look for a USB printer cable. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01B1OPV4I/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491084640&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=usb+printer+cable+10+foot&psc=1 From this cable all you need is an OTG adapter to connect to your tablet or phone. You need an OTG since tablets or phones are not designed to connect with another USB device of the same type (in most cases). You also need this type of adapter to connect an external drive to a phone ofor example. You can get a female type A connector to a male micro USB OTG adapter (assuming this whst you have on your tablet or phone) Amazon.com for cheap. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N9S9Z0G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491084462&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=otg+cable+for+android&psc=1

True. As I said they are recorded drum loops, so more or less a wav or mp3 file of a real drummer playing. However you can find a good drum machine apps (loopz or similar) to run on your tablet or smartphone and you can stream this over USB to be outputted by the amp if you want to change the tempo.
-
Save to my tone is stored locally on your device (tablet or phone) so if you always use the same device then yes you can retrieve it at any time. If you use multiple devices then you may want to save the tone to your amp or to the cloud.
-
I'm not sure I understand what you are requesting. There is a tap tempo switch on the amp and with theSpider Remote app you can tap the tempo and/or enter the BPM for time based effects. Unless you mean changing the tempo of the drum loops? If this is what you are talking about then yes I agree it would be nice. However I believe those tracks are recorded drum loops, so changing the tempo is not possible. I guess you could probably find a decent drum machine app to run on a tablet and send that audio via USB to the amp.

In the Spider Remote app at the top click the Details tab. In the Details tab you can enter: a title, an author, a rating etc. When you are in the Details tab you can click on the floppy disk at the top to: - Save to My Tone - Save to My Tone As. - Save to Spider V (if you are connected) - Publish to Line 6 Cloud - Share Note: The floppy icon is only available and visible when you are in the Details tab (at least on Android).

I re-read the specs from Line6 FAQ page for the Spider V and I believe you are correct. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/spider-v/spider-v-3060120240240hc-faq-r834 Looks like you need the latest firmware on the transmitter and you can select the channel from the global settings on the amp.
-
To learn or to practice the Spider V is a lot of fun, probably the best amp for this purpose currently on the market. The Spider V has tons of really cool effects. For example it would be hard to justify a synth effect pedal for a new player since this is not something you would use all that often. On the Spider you can experiment with one if you want. The built-in drum loops, metronome and built-in wireless are also very nice. However the many options my be a challenge for some people, myself included. There are some amazing tones in this amp and you can find a lot of good examples in some demos on the Web. Ola Englund John Browne and many others have some very good demos. Playing with my V240 I find that sometimes just changing the mic model can take a preset from boff to WoW this is really cool. The same for changing the cab model.
-
I believe the amp only works with the G10T transmitter.
-
I could not reproduce on my V240. Display is the same on all preset. I guess you will have to open a ticket.
-
The test is just to see if the problem is with this memory slot or with the string of text that is somehow corrupted. If you put 88888888 and it works fine, then you can put back the old title for that preset. Basically saving something on the slot to see if the problem goes away.
-
If a factory reset did not solve this, I'm not sure there is anything else to try. But if you want you can always try to change the name of the preset in 01C to 888888888 for example, do you get a different level of light? The display seems to be working fine at startup so the problem seems deeper. Bad memory maybe? Is this on firmware 1.04? I'm running 1.03 on my V240 combo and never noticed this problem, but I use a tablet most of the time so I don't pay much attention to the screen.. I will take a look tonight. Another thing to try, if you change preset using a tablet or a phone are the same slots affected?
-
On don't have the 240HC, but on the 240 combo when you turn off the power the amp seems to turn off, never noticed anything flasking after. What version of firmware are you running?

When will Line Monkey windows 10 for Spider V be released
pber2025 replied to Doug_Gl_Phillips's topic in Spider V
It would also be nice if Line6 would release the API for the Spider V. I can understand, if for financial or logistical reasons, they don't want to do a Windows or Mac version of the Spider Remote app, but I"m sure people here could build one very quickly if they had the proper tools. Of course releasing the API is not without risk for Line6, if their code is not rock solide they might run into problems with people crashing or worst killing the amp, So this might be why they prefer to keep the amp in a closed ecosystem. Only Line6 knows for sure,,, If you look at what happened with the Firehawk and Amplifi], It's sure looks like Line6 will continue without a PC or Mac editor for the Spider. However I hope they continue to improve the Spider Remote app... It would be nice to have access to the drum loops, metronome settings, RIFFs and tuner from the remote app It would also be nice to be able to build setlists in the app and manage them there. One thing that is funny, on the TGP forum people on one of the many Helix thread are requesting that Line6 adds support for tablets to the Helix... . -
Thanks looking forward to your comments

I guess it depens on the cab you are using. If you are using the Spider V 412 cab then yes I think you would need to mic both the cab and the head [same for all Spider V combos btw, you need to mic the horn and the speaker]. If you are using a standard guitar cab and are bypassing the cab model then you can mic only the cab. Of course you can use the XLR outputs and as a bonus to get a stereo output.
-
You can also use the USB to stream audio to the amp. If you have a tablet connected you can control the amp with Spider Remote and play music.
-
Agree but showing up here and saying the app does not work is not very useful or constructive if you don't say what is not working. Some people also posted here that they could not get the app to work, but with the help of people on this forum they were able to fix their issues at least some of them.
-
Can you be more specific? The app is not perfect, but to say it does not work is a bit of an overstatement. I'm using my V240 connected to an old Sony tablet without a problem. I also tried 4 or 5 other devices and with the exception of my Samsung S6 all of them worked ok. Having access to all parameters of the signal chain on a 10inch touch screen makes for a really cool experience. There is a lot of good people here on this forum really trying to help other users so if you give a description of your problem maybe we can help.

Agree, I think this Spider V behaves more like a modeler than any of the Spider amps before. So it needs to be used like a modeler and adjusted as such, This also includes having to somehow adapt to the new near full-range speakers used in this amp, again a design choice closer to a modeler. Some people are not expecting all those changes or do not want to invest the time, even if minimal to make this works and this might be a reason they don`t like the amp. All I can say is you can get amazing tones coming from Spider V. I really like my V240 so far it`s a lot of fun. BTW Thanks to the great people on this forum I think you help getting the best of this product.
