  1. I accidently pressed on few buttons on my HX Stomp and now Scroll mode is missing.
I've find out that I can reprogram FS1 and FS2 to scroll preset down and up via Command Center, but for some reason my Command Center programming always erased after awhile(I assume it happens because some operation I'm doing on my HX Stomp, but I don't know what is that operation exactly)

  2. I'm really enthusiastic about the Helix for itself.

But but but, to manny people saying it's not in the same league as the Kemper and the AX8.

And in every comparison video on youtube the Helix loses(considering the majority of the comments and what the guy in the video himself saying).

On the second hand, I see many happy users of the Helix around the web.

So all the happy users, tell me what you think about all that, and if you are a user but not happy I would like to see what you have to say also.have to say also.

  3. I going to buy a Helix in few mounths.

I want to buy a keyboard amp in case I'll have to play in a place without any kind of amplification.

My question is, since most of the small keyboard amps are just one monophonic speaker, and those are not stereo amplification, what I will have to set in the Helix to work good with that amplification?

Is there a way to turn the Helix to monophonic mode?

Actually I thought to buy Roland CM 30, it is not exactly a keyboard amp, but close.

  4. I'm doing research about the Helix, thinking to upgrade to Helix in a few month.

From what I learned so far, the weakness of the Helix, is the sames weakness of the Pod(which I already own), and it is the cabinet simulator.

I saw people saying they prefer to connect an external cabinet simulator to the Helix.

First of all, as Helix users, what do you have to say about that?

Second, I didn't understood yet, if I must connect another device(like Epsi or Torpedo Cab) to get better cabinet simulator, or do I have the option to download cabinet models(just software) into the Helix itself.

  5. Using a device with a $500 MSRP....

I have everything that I have ever had during my 30+ year career -- AND MORE.

$100,000 worth of gear, replaced by a $500 floorboard.

Because I choose to run direct to the PA instead of using an amp, the one thing I am missing is a Talk Box, and that is because there is no amp/cab involved, which means no ability to power the device. However, they now sell a self-powered Talk Box, which means if I actually needed one, I could buy one and use it with my Pod.

But I gained a Vocoder, which I had on keys, but not for guitar. Talk Box vs Vocoder - I can deal with it.

There are two things I am feeling let down on when using the Pod vs my old rig, and they were not improved upon in the Helix.

    1. the tuner. While the guitar tuner in the Pod is accurate, in my old rig, I had a much more high end tuner. In fact, I paid $400 for my tuner. So, really, I can't expect a $500 device to include a tuner like that. But, I can still use it, it is just not part of the "one box" replacement.

    2. I had an old Pitch Shift/Delay pedal, that allowed me to do some crazy sound effects. I cannot do it with the Pod. Partially because the way digital works in segments instead of the continual motion of analog. But, like all of the above issues, I could use it in the chain if I really wanted - it just is not built in.

    So, I ask you...

What do you do with your music that makes you think you may need a Helix?

A touch screen doesn't make it sound any better. Having 7 inputs doesn't make it sound any better if you are a 1 or 2 input user.

I just want it to sound more like a real amp.

I understand from web research that the weak point of the POD HD is the cabinet simulator, and that is why it sounds unrealistic.

I read here that tweaking the Global aqualizer might also be useful useful, maybe even a replacement for an external Cabinet Simulator:

What do you say about that?
  6. Then it depends a lot on the style of music you play.  Do you find the HD500X constraining in it's ability to add and control effects?  Do you desire more than just the single effects loop the HD has?  Are you using a DT amplifier?  Would you like more feedback on your preset setup?  Does spillover between preset changes matter to you (i.e. would snapshots be a huge advantage for you).

If all you do is use an amp and a couple effects, and you don't feel like spending the extra money, then maybe the Torpedo Cab is all you need.

As a caveat, I don't have any experience with the HD500X and Torpedo Cab combination.  I do feel like using the Helix is light years better than using a PODHD however.  But that's just me.

And heck, buy the cab from a place like Sweetwater or GC, try it out, return it if you don't think there is a huge difference.

The true is, that up to now that was really what I always do, use an amp and a few effects, I never felt I need something more than that.

That is why I'm looking only on sound upgrade and nothing more.
  7. My budget is:

    There is no budget.

If I'll think something is important enough I'll get the money eventually.

I just have to decide now what upgrade am I going to do - adding Two Notes Torpedo Cab with the Pod I already have, or replacing my Pod with a Helix.

I need to know whether I have to put aside 500$ or 1500$.

Also, I have to decide if I'm buying a bag for my Pod, I need to know to what direction am I going to.

  8. I think you missed my specigic question, fellows.

I know the Helix sounds much better, I can even hear the difference on youtube demos, and it is big difference IMO.

My question was, how big the different will be with a good cab simulator?

  9. I'm thinking whether it is worth to upgrade, as I have a list of equipment I need, so I'm trying to arrange my priority order.

Soundwise, can I get sound as good as Helix sound if I'll add something like Tropedo Cab to the Pod?

I know that the is Helix better than the Pod in more aspects than sound, but I'm looking for sound improvement only, and buying a good cab simulator will be much cheaper than the Helix.

  11. I'm going to gig in a few days with an amplified acoustic nylon strings guitar, would you suggest me to plug the guitar direct to the PA, or could my POD HD500X enhance the sound?

If so, can someone here please help me to build a good preset for an acoustic nylon strings guitar?

    Explain how to do it?

Or maybe someone here can recommend me on a preset shared in the CUSTOMTONE section?

    Thanks in advanced.

  12. 150 - 600 ohms plugged right into the jack.

What are the consequences if you use a less than 150 Ohm headphones with the Pod HD500X?
I know it's possible and even can sound good, but remember I'm using the Pod HD500X as a sound interface for mixing and producing audio tracks, so naturally I have high demands in that regard.
  13. I want to use the HD500X for studio works, with a professional flat and natural studio headphones, for mixing and mastering.

Therefor, sound accuracy and quality is very important to me.

I need to know what impedance the HD500X headphoned input built for, optimal.

Another think I must know is: if the HD500X built for high impedance headphones, 300 Ohms for example, does it mean that if I'm connecting to it a 300 Ohms headphones, I don't need a headphones amplifier?

  14. Does the Pod's mic input includes a preamp for professional studio recording of singing and acoustic instruments?

moreover, does the audio interface that in the Pod is good for music production in a DAW?

Like if I'm doing a project in Cubase with 10-16 channels of different virtual instruments?

  15. Screw the amps. Go direct. If the sound guy doesn't know how to do it, he shouldn't be a sound guy. If the sound system can't handle it, don't use that sound system.

And if you need some sort of amp to monitor your sound on stage, then you can use an amp to monitor the sound without it affecting house sound.

But to answer the questions -

    1. I think some people are misunderstanding the question because English isn't your first language. So, allow me to answer a different possibility ---

Yes, you can plug your Pod into amps. The same as you would any other "pedal".

    2. Again, go direct. No need to worry about amps. BUT, should you insist on using one, the same FRFR units that we recommend for guitarists can be used for bassists. One amp, one pod, all instruments in all ranges including vocals.

    So:
    1. You saying I can plug the Pod into a standard FRFR amp when a bass guitar connected to the Pod and it will work fine.
    2. I can use the same FRFR amp for bass guitar and for guitar.

If I'm understanding right, those are great news.
  16.

One of the reasons I bought the Pod is because I wanted something that will be good both for guitar and bass guitar.

About the bass usage I have two questions:

    1. Do the common monitors\speakers in the common rehearsal room\Neighborhood pub should take a bass guitar connected to it through the Pod?

    2. There are places where you don't have any amplification, I need a recomendation on speaker that would work good with a bass guitar connected to it though the Pod; I need something only for small places but strong enough to play with a full band(including drummer).
