While browsing pre-made patches, I found a delay that did exactly what I want. Going to go look for it. Is it possible to copy an effect and paste it into a different patch?

Another great idea. Later tonight I will try both. tedulrich, from the sounds of your set up you are not using a panning delay, but on the original it most definitely is. How best to get that delay? Any ideas? I tried all the delays and did not find one easily controlled for my needs.

Greetings all. My band is doing this song, just up to where vocals start. I got most of this done and learned, but the most difficult part is the delay on the guitar early in the song. I have something that works, but the stomp process is daunting....the delay does not start on the first chord, it starts on the second, so you have to turn the delay on and off really quickly and very exactly or the delay is wrong. The delay time is 313 ms and that is perfect, but it is the stomp process that makes this so difficult. So, is there a way to program any of the delays in helix to only react to the second chord? Also, on the original recording the delay guitar pans each time the delay plays back. How would I create that effect and what delay would you use? I'm sure with the helix there is a way to make this way more simple. Any input most appreciated.

So my Helix has the latest firmware installed - does this mean that the latest software bundle is loaded as well? How can I tell what bundle is installed? Also, where does one find third party amps, FX, patches, IR's etc, either free or for sale? This is an area I have NOT explored yet. Any advice or help most appreciated.

Support has opened a ticket for this and contacted me without me initiating. Pretty impressive. I have no idea how or where lollipop came from and have to admit that even in my frustration, I thought it funny. After all - I was feeling a bit licked!

I have just reinstalled the 2.20 update. Am about to do a global reset. That's done. Now to the computer. I have uninstalled everything, deleted the downloads, re-downloaded the drivers and software. Will reboot the computer, install the drivers, install the editor and every single thing has been refreshed. Sitting here being frustrated I think this may be a hint as to what's happening. I have a laptop connected to the Helix with editor open. I then rapidly switch thru presets looking for the starting point for my songs - which I then copy and paste...but editor freezes if you switch presets to fast - and I think it is corrupting the presets doing this. Only thing I noticed that was happening other than the unit working correctly.

This is the second time...this time worse. All my custom presets and edits are gone, the factory defaults are damaged, and I have wasted another bunch of time, when I have lollipoping practice tonight. This unit is NOT stable. This should not happen to a 2K device and I am officially PISSED OFF. Editing copying and pasting presets into a user bank - that's it. Computer connected, everything going well, then all of a sudden my custom user bank USER1 looks just like factory 1 - and then factory 1 has no settings at all. I rebooted everything, a message comes up saying rebuilding presets and I am lollipoped. I cannot afford to waste time like this, not on a unit that costs so much. I hesitated buying Line 6, and although the sounds are great, this lollipoping piece of lollipop is not stable. And I have to go to practice again not ready. I backed up when I had 1 set done, and was just about finished my second set when this happened. Do you really have to back up every time you edit a preset? Bulllollipop! I got one more hour before I leave and will fix what I can, but man, this is just a load of bulllollipop.

I copied an bunch of basic amps and used stomp box mode for the night. I also did a global reset before that. It looks like the user bank, or set list is working after the reset. Don't know what caused the problem, but this would be a disaster at a live gig. I am going to back up often.

As stated, I spent a good portion of my day copying sounds, pasting them into a user bank and renaming them for my songs. Then customizing the sounds. After the error message the user bank was wiped clean.. I did a global reset again. Things are working, but 4 or 5 hours of work is gone.

So I spent hours today selecting sounds for tunes. Came back to finish up and when I tried to paste a sound in I got a big yellow banner saying something like Device Badly formatted response, and ALL my work is gone. At 2K, I am starting to wonder if I got the right unit. This should not happen. I just upgraded the unit ti 2.20, and I did the global reset. And now this. Pretty frustrated.

I got it done. Not sure what step did it, but a full uninstall, and a serious clean up of junk on the laptop, including 5 or 6 other audio drivers that were no longer being used, then a few extra reboots - then reinstall - and it worked. Thanks to all for the help. It was helpful. Its nice to see the Helix boot to 2.20

First, thanks for all the help. A great community helps make a great product. Every single app is closed except the updater. I have NO virus software on my laptop. I am going direct into the Helix, no hub, and I am using a quality USB cable. There was one anomalous event during the install. After installing the drivers and plugging in the Helix, Windows never informed me that drivers were being installed, as per the instructions. So I went to device mangler and the driver was loaded, so I continued. I just uninstalled the driver and re-installed it. This time windoze did find and load the driver - update failed. Same as before, account information not correct. Why is there an off-line update if it does not work? I have to go work. Back at this tonight.

So, followed the instructions EXACTLY. My back up is complete. Removed everything, did a clean boot, followed instruction that are posted under support to the letter. When I ran the update program, it gave me an HTTP error, then would not log on at all, log in information incorrect - but it IS correct. Manual install failed. Different USB port failed. Reboot failed. Checking device mangler drivers are loaded.I can talk to the Helix with editor - this is just stupid. I have a direct USB cable to Helix. Can talk to it, have all the proper software - and nothing. And a few hours of time wasted. Getting a little frustrated. I use Chrome and I am not installing anything else for this.

Ok, I am new at this so some of the issues may be my fault. I have just purchased a Helix unit, used, that is at Ver 2.10.0. I want to get it up to the latest rev, before I even really start to use the unit. I have tired on 2 different computers, both running W7 pro 64 bit. On the desktop, when I run the editor software, it just says error. When I run the update software, I get a long OpenGL error message and it fails. When I use the laptop, I can at least run the update software, but for some reason I cannot log onto my account. Proper password and everything, it does not work. So I use the off-line way, select the file and get another error - it just say encountered an error, please turn off the Helix, turn it on again, and press continue to try again. So, are there CLEAR instructions anywhere on what the exact correct files are that are required, what the EXACT proper steps are for this, and any ideas what may be causing these issues? Any help appreciated. I can hardly wait to get started using this tool. Thanks.

I figured out how to split the footswitchs into patches and effects, but I have not figured out how to assign an effect to a switch. Any help appreciated.
