  1. Quite right. Despite what some videos might imply, Stomp doesn't have enough ins and outs and, more importantly, it's also not capable of two line processing which would be needed if attempting it with only one device.
  2. That right there is a big part of your problem. The idea is to do all the research and have a plan before you make a whole bunch of gear purchases. There is a whole ton of misinformation out there about Wet/Dry/Wet. I suspect most people who are interested in it don't really understand it nearly as well as they think they do. Real Wet/Dry/Wet is possible on my Helix Floor but it is only partially possible with HX Stomp. You can run Wet/Dry easily enough but Wet/Dry/Wet isn't really an option using just the Stomp alone. You would need two additional pieces of gear. A second stereo effect unit like maybe an HXFX and a splitting device like an A/B/Y box so you can take the signal going into the front of the amp and split it so it goes into both the amp and into the second stereo effect unit, which would then be routed to the side cabs. Stomp would be run in mono, the other unit in stereo. I don't know anything about the BOSS delay unit you mentioned but if it doesn't have other effects in addition to delay then I don't think it will be very useful in achieving Wet/Dry/Wet unless delay is the only effect you want in the sides. There are plenty of YouTube videos out there. Just search for: HX Stomp Wet/Dry/Wet. There will be a number of results. Most will call it what it really is: Wet/Dry. Any video that is demonstrating real true Wet/Dry/Wet will be using additional gear. Some will call it Wet/Dry/Wet using Stomp alone but they don't really understand what it is.
  3. I don't use Stomp, I use Helix. In Helix there are also global settings in addition to what's already been mentioned that can affect volume and EQ on a global basis. I have to imagine there is something similar in Stomp. Take a look for it. Maybe there's something amiss in there? Also, did you just do an update? Sometimes people don't follow the update directions explicitly; they take shortcuts or skip steps and then there are weird issues.
  4. I wonder if it will drive up the prices of used Variaxes in great condition. Hmmm ... Fingers crossed. LOL
  5. Hopefully enough people will express concern to the company that they keep supplying parts for the future,
  6. Everything you want running into the amp should be ahead of the Loop2 block. That includes the Loop1 block. Things into the dry amp should include wah, compression, overdrive, etc. ie: things you normally run into the front of an amp. Things into the wet stereo amp should include chorus, delay, reverb, etc. ie: things you normally run in an amp's loop, time based effects. Your wet effects should go after the Loop2 block on your HXFX signal path. Everything else should go before.
  7. If I am understanding you correctly you have a device (Amp1) that has a single mono output but you want three stereo outputs for a total of six discreet outputs. Or is it five? I am trying to think and I don't even think I could do that with my Helix Floor. I am pretty sure a wet/dry/wet rig in 4CM with three outputs is probably about the most I could dream up. Even if I am mistaken and you really only want 4 I still do not see how that could be possible with an HX Effects and an Amp1 in 4CM. Even if you took 4CM and Amp1 out of the equation and were able to split a stereo output into two stereo outputs I don't know how you would be able to assign IRs to only one of them. I do not think what you ask is possible. I don't even think it is possible with my rig, let alone yours.
  8. That is of no importance to me at all. Not one little bit. Sorry. It never even occurred to me and now that it has been brought to my attention ... it still does not occur to me. I'm not even remotely curious to know what an AC30 preamp would sound like with a Twin Reverb power section played into a Phil Jones 9x5 cab. That kind of experimentation has zero appeal for me. The very most important thing of all is improved touch sensitivity, dynamics, realism and faithfulness to the original, not oddball Frankenstein creations that never were. No. No. No.
  9. Does this seem just a little bit spammy? Guy's first post on the forum and he's promoting his own video.
  10. I don't think that's a perfect solution either. I have an Eventide H9 Max. Editing on the iPad is amazingly good. A way better interface than HX-Edit if you ask me. It's just more intuitive. The quality of the sounds Eventide makes are better than Helix too IMO but the device itself is quite cumbersome to use from the physical controls. So much so that you pretty much HAVE to use a mobile device to edit programs or even switch from one program to the next. That would be okay but the problem is BlueTooth. If a connection is not transmitting data it will un-pair in about 60 to 90 seconds or so. Then it takes about 60 to 90 seconds or so to re-pair because you can't just re-pair, you have to forget device and then find new. It's a real time waster and it is the primary reason I hardly ever use it. If Helix was going to go wireless it would need to be WiFi in order to be useful, not BlueTooth and I'm pretty sure that would mean Helix would have to serve as a hub or router for the mobile device to connect with. I say that because I can directly connect two devices (computer and phone) over BlueTooth but I have never been able to directly connect them over WiFi. I'm no computer tech so I could be missing something but I don't think so.
  11. I suggest you use the favourites option in HX-Edit. Once you have configured a block such that it will suit your needs in multiple presets you can save that block as a favourite and then add it from favourites any time you want into any preset and it will be configured just exactly like how you saved it.
  12. This setup gives you exactly what you already have plus you have the additional option to place blocks before the loop block.
  13. Personally, I am confused as to why you would put Helix in the amp loop at all. That completely precludes any possibility whatsoever of placing blocks in front of your amp. You could do exactly the same things you are doing now plus have the flexibility of doing more if you followed the traditional 4 cable method.
  14. I made 8 presets that are versatile enough to cover most anything. I never have to bank more than one position. Each preset has 4 snapshots plus 4 available stomps. You can do a LOT with 8 presets like that. Hell you could do a lot with 4. Learn about stomp/snap mode. Or maybe you'll prefer snap/stomp. I prefer the snaps to be closest to me and reach for the stomps. You might like something else better but either way you will never know what you're missing until you get onboard with snapshots.
  15. I think the OP wants the delay time to increase automatically, presumably restarting with each note played. I don't see anything on any of the delay models that could facilitate that level of complexity. It does open up new ideas for delay effects though. If someone were to employ the kind of algorithm that an envelope filter uses and apply that to delay times it might make for an interesting effect.
  16. HX One is the new M5 Had to look up M5. Effect modelling. One at a time. Like HX One. So yes. I was right. It's a lower cost alternative to an H9.
  17. Sooooo ..... is it supposed to be a poor man's version of the H9?
  18. Install this in your car and then go back and don't buy it. https://www.oreillyauto.com/flux-capacitor
  19. I use Stomp/Snap mode as my default performance mode. Any foot-switch assignments I enable in a snapshot stay enabled in the snapshot.
  20. Follow the instructions on the installation page. Don't second guess them, just do it. We get a lot of people asking about problems with their devices when the problem was they didn't follow the directions. Then go play a song from A Farewell To Kings.
  21. LOL Didn't even notice the date. Thanks for the heads up.
  22. If your amp sounded fantastic on stage but not so hot through the P/A then that is not the fault of you amp. Nor is it because of how you were using your Helix. It sounded great. It's the fault of one or more of several things: Sound guy issues P/A issues Mic selection or placement The "room" not properly being accounted for Could be any number of things You didn't "fix" anything by switching. You side stepped it. That's okay too and if you like it, great but don't try to make it sound like the fault was your amp or 4CM or that method of using Helix. It was human error. You had a great sound but you (or your sound guy) didn't learn how to get that great sound to the house. Lots of people, myself included, use Helix in 4CM and get great results both on stage and in the house mains.

  24. WTH is this sideways scrolling thing?
  25. Stomp has a loop so use the four cable method. It is not intimidating once you understand it and the results are worth the trouble of learning it. Traditional pedals in 4CM - dry effects to front of amp - wet effects in loop Helix Family of devices in 4CM - same thing Study these drawings until it makes sense to you
