  1. after 6 years using direct pod to the mixer, every weekend, I learned to relax, I learned that in each PA the pod behaves differently, and found that to get a good tone from the pod is necessary an quality PA ,when I started using I almost went crazy. in every show I changed all the parameters of the pod, but it's not how you do it depends on the PA

there are days that my sound is beautiful and there are days  it is horrible,

one lesson I learned is that the pod has excess bass, especially in marshall models, which are the ones that use,
On PA, it is very evident, work with little bass and little gain

    so is the pod,

there is not much to do

  2. this is a very small audio example of what I get from the AC-30 model with its default cab miked with a 87 condenser mic

    https://soundcloud.com/hurghanico/ac-30-tone-test

at the beginning starts a chords progression played with a LP Junior (P90 pickup) model, placed slightly on the left side..

then I added a solo/melody with a LP Standard placed slightly on the right side, there is a Tube Screamer, and after the amp an analog delay with mod, reverb..

to me it sounds quite fat and warm..

    cab resonance is at zero..

amp standard controls are all at noon except Cut and Channel Volume at 100 and Presence at zero, (Treble could work good also up to about 60 to get a more bright and slightly nasal tone)..

tube screamer: all defaults, except output at 50..

all default settings for the analog delay/mod and reverb

very nice tone, but i think that vox(default parameters) direct to the pa sounds very different, at leats for me

  3. Hello group.

how can i get a fatter sound out of the A30-TB?

    Using Bridge Humbucker.

My chain has in it: [ with the settings so far]

Noise Gate  50  50  ( only used when using signal coil)

    Boost Comp   61  33  56  3 o'clock 3 o'clock

    Tube Drive    53  50  47   10 o'clock  4o'clock

    AMP  A30TB  56  69  100  65  50  100  27

AMP Parameters : standard no change

CAB Parameters : only changed the Low cut to 9 o.clock

Mixer  A+B  PAN Centre and  +2dB

    Volume Pedal

    Reverb  Hall   38  82  40  27

Thanks.. any help would be appreciated......

changing the cab, use a marshakll 4x12

  4. I run my pod hd 500 in Looping my jvm marshall, I do not use any amp and drive from pod ,just use for modulations, noise gate, tuner and delays. Do you think that in this case, should I use the 4 cable method or just run my pod in jvm the loop? as I've been doing already

  5. I did the update and it happened all ok, I changed some parameters of global eq and now want to go back to the original parameters, anyone know the original values of each frequency?

  6. I was very excited manly with the peter jcm patches because when I tried the first time it was on a Great PA and souded very good, but after that, I did several gigs in pa not so good

conclusion, the jcm manly sounded very bad,

conclusion: run the direct pod in the mixer depends almost 100% quality of pa, but not necessarily just the soundman, because sometimes the band is sounding very, very good, drums ,keaybords and bass but not the guitar. because guitar sound depends on many factors, many frequencies and tones.

  7. me too , hated and ignored jcm 800, I thought this jcm 800 garbage and completely useless, but after peter everything changed ahahaha .

this afternoon I had the opportunity to try all his patches  in soundcheck in a venue that I will play tonight, great PA and playing too loud, they sounded really good, even garbage jcm 800 aahahh,  and treadplate that I could never be satisfied on pa now got.

    Thanks peter

  8. youre talking about the hd workbench right?

Just today pop up my idea to improve my lester model, due to the pickups, sound too hot. (Remind me the 500T 496R that I had on my Flying V) which actually are the worst pickups IMO. So, I stared checking the humbuckers in workbench, and found a great match with the semi humbuckers . The sound became istantl vintage, 70s era, the clean and drive sound get awesome... So I thought, what else I don't like? The semi 1,5,3. Same as above, put the gibson  humbuckers and sound became more woody. Finally adjust some of the jazz, installed the 89 neck on 5 and 3 position... Awesome!!

Thanks line6 for ths great guitar!

  9. Should I mute the chanel b or is not necessary?place the pans to the right and to the left side is going to turn down the volume a bit, this is normal right?

by "pre position" I mean pre split position, or in other words: the chain is not in path A only..

and if I understud well you are already using the default pre split position.. so let's go ahead..

you should put pan A 100% to the left and pan B 100% to the right..

the amp model is mono and therefore will render to mono anything coming from before it

  10. open the pan is to put pans to the righ or left side, in my case i use in the center boths channels of mixer

my chain is mono , i dont use 2 patchs , just one patch, what do you mean  pre position?

Im asking what i shoul do to have the more clean sound, without any distorcion .and whithout doubling the signal

    sorry my english

what do you mean exactly by "open the pan completely"?

where is your chain?.. all in path A,.. or in pre position?

also, you're asking what you should do, but it is unclear for what

  11. My question is, as I use the mono pod,  Irun only one XLR or 1/4 of the pod out,   should I mute the  b channe in mixerl or open the pan completely ?

putting the pan in the center is almost as doubling the signal level at the output of the mixer, therefore if you put an amp after, it will change both its distortion and volume levels, compared to the pre mixer position..
