After setting up the four cable method, the helix and amp sound great together, but I only get a response from stomps I have placed before the send channel. For example, the volume pedal/comps sound good. However, when I try to add delay or reverb after the return stomp, I get no delay or reverb.
I also tried using the 4CM template patch, but I got the same results. Any thoughts on how to solve this?

Thank you for such a quick response! I have downloaded HX Edit 2.71 and Line 6 Updater 1.16, but my mac cannot download the firmware because it is a .hxf file. Any suggestions there? Again, Ive searched the web but haven't had any luck. I have an older Mac and I am running on Sierra OS if that means anything.
Also, the latest Driver I am seeing on the site is v1.0.5
Thanks again for your help

Sorry to bother y'all, I know this is a basic question... I bought my Helix July 14th and want to start downloading patches from the site but, after watching videos and looking at other forums, I still cannot figure out how to properly set things up.
I have downloaded the Line 6 Updater as well as the Helix sidebar thing for dragging and dropping patches. However, after hooking the helix up to the computer and trying to drag and drop a few patches, errors kept coming up and failed to download. Clearly I technology is not my strong suit... do I just need to update something? Please help! Thank you

I have a Marshall DSL40C, that I use as my home practice amp.
I pulled it apart and put in a new Celestion Creamback speaker, a larger choke, and new Tung-Sol power tubes.
The thing is a small(ish) beast. Way more clean power than I need in my basement, but it sounds amazing.
Then, I got my Helix a couple months ago...
I originally had it plugged into the front of the amp... sounded like crap. So, I went out and bought an EV ZLX-12P.
I'll admit, the EV monitor sounds really good with the Helix... but it doesn't have that brute power that I missed with the tube amp.
This morning, I decided to try plugging the Helix into the Return line of the Marshall amp.
This effectively cuts-out the Marshall's preamp, and just goes straight into the tube power amp section.
HO - LY - CRAP! It sounds friggen amazing!
I'll admit, it's not FRFR. I won't be running vocals through it.
But for guitar, it sounds incredible. Much better than the E-V powered monitor (in my opinion)
For anyone who has a guitar amp, with send/return on the back, I'd recommend giving this a try.
I know this isn't a new idea... but I just wanted to relay my experience and feedback.
Hey! I just picked up the Helix and I have a Marshall dsl40c as well. I want to set it up like how you explained (through the send/return) but I can’t figure it out. Could you help me out with where to plug everything in?
Cannot Import because it contained unrecognized models

Hey, this is probably a basic question; I'll admit I'm not great at remembering to update my Helix. That being said, I have backed up my helix, updated HX edit to the latest firmware, and have updated line 6 updater but a preset pack I bought that was created 8 months ago (I think on Firmware 3.0) will still not import into my helix while I have it plugged up.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or what I have neglected to do?
Thanks!
