  1. Well, another Helix Floor update and another issue during install, however this one was actually called for by the manufacturer. I'm using a macbook pro updated to Ventura, and first downloaded and installed the latest HX Edit software as directed. As mentioned, I expected the update error and the HX Edit notification that this will be normal, however the unit itself is not coming out of it. Initial error message popped up in HX edit, but I cannot tell if it's an error message I'm getting on the unit cause it's not longer in english, just this static-sort of code. Although I followed the HX Edit instructions to power cycle the unit and continue the install, the unit is frozen with no connectivity to HX Edit and still displaying gibberish (see attached photo). I tried to power cycle in safe boot mode, test mode, global reset and still just gives me the same gibberish. Has anybody experienced this and/ or can offer a solution to finish the 3.50 update?
  2. Hello, I have a question that will help me decide if I should purchase the switchable Mission L6 for my Helix Floor: Can additional patches be assigned to toggle ON the L6 when wah is switched OFF. For example, when wah is turned off can the L6 remain active to control other parameters, gain level, delay level, etc... Thanks!
  3. datacommando, Thanks for your response. I am looking at both options now. Brings up another question that will help me decide if I should purchase the switchable L6: if using the Mission L6 (w/ switch) for wah, can Helix be programmed to still respond the L6 when wah is switched OFF. Essentially the L6 toggling between patches like the onboard footswitches. For example, when wah is turned off can the L6 then control other parameters, gain level, delay level, etc... Thanks all!
  4. The Helix Floor Volume patch control going to MAX every time I want to switch to Wah is not useful for me so I am looking for an external pedal to do control Wah. I've heard Mission makes one but clarity on a model # will help. Since I'm starting a thread, any other external expression pedals users prefer are also welcome to reply. Thanks!
  5. Hi rd2rk, Thanks for your quick response. I am a Helix Floor user. I read in some other forums that the invisible or virtual "clicker" from EXP 1 to 2 on the Floor does not work well on carpet. Mine is on carpet and thick padding so I am going to set it on a hard surface and maybe it will switch for me. It's possible the wah WAS assigning to exp 1 and I never knew it because of the switching issue. Sounds like I might be a candidate for an extension expression pedal because I def do not always want volume at 100% just to turn on the wah. Thanks again!
  6. Hello, I’ve seen demos Demonstrating Wah patches automatically assigned to Exp1 and Volume patches automatically assigned to Exp2. Although for me the Wah does not get assigned to either Exp. Also the Volume patches are auto-assigned to Exp 1 and will not assign to Exp 2 even when manually assigning it. The only way to get the Wah patch to function on any Exp is to first add the patch to the chain, then assign it to a foot switch, then turn it on, then assign it to Exp 1 through the manual switch assignment in the main menu. There are 2 main problems this issue creates, 1) the only way to activate the wah is to keep the patch on an assignable foot switch which does not seem right and takes up a spot I need for other patches. 2) Wah and Volume both only function on Exp1 which messes up the wah when the volume drops with the pitch control. I’ve even tried assigning the volume with the wah turned off to try to at least turn off the volume patches when the wah is activated but unfortunately Exp 1 does not behave the same way as toggling (2) patches on a single foot switch. I’ve tried to manually assign either the Wah or the Volume to Exp 2 but neither will assign. It’s like Exp 2 is locked out for some reason. I am able to assign either or both patches to Exp 1. Question 1: Why is the Wah not automatically being assigned to an Exp thus requiring a foot switch to turn only on/off but not provide any control? Question 2: Why is volume automatically being assigned to Exp 1 when I’ve seen demos instructing users that volume should automatically assign to Exp 2 freeing up Exp 1 for Wah’s? Question 3: Why are neither Volume or Wah patches manually assignable to Exp 2? Help is greatly appreciated!
