  1. Just to be clear, are you thinking of buying a Helix Control to control an Axe FXII (in which case Peter's answer is the answer), or do you have a Rack+control, and also want to control an Axe FXII with MIDI commands (which you can do)?

I have a Helix, i love it but delays and reverbs (more used effects for me) are better in AXE FX II. I would like to control axe fx2 via midi with helix control (the best of the helix and the best of ax fx2).

    Thanks PeterHamm for your reply.

  2. It´s so easy. You can do it in differents ways, i prefer with snapshots, you can turn on/off a lot of blocks with only one switch.

  3. Thank you for your replys,

here's my shot at creating it in Helix.  Check it out and adjust as necessary.

Your preset is great, i´m working in my own preset in a few days i think that i upload it in custom tone. It´s difficult to get that shimmer tone for me. I think that rotary could be the key. By other way the pitch and chorus i think that don´t add much, if you mix with octo at 90% it dessapear.

  4. Shimmer is a multidelay with pitchshifter for differents times. And easy shimmer is 100ms +1octave 200ms +2octaves, then you can add a filter and a reverb.

Helix hasn´t any delay with this options. That´s is it the problem. Octoverb could work fine but is not the same, is similar.

    Other example:

Heard at 1:15 and better at 5:18

  5. I´m trying to make a good u2 shimmer, i used the octoverb but is it not ok, i needo something. I add a particle verb but, i think that i need another effect.

    What chain do you suggest??

    Thanks

  6. Yep, the reverbs (and 8 of the ten wahs) were taken from M-series/HD—everything else was built from scratch in HX. To be honest, we just ran out of time, and the only alternative would've been to have waited longer before release. Then no one here would be talking about Helix, because it'd still be top secret.

I think helix is a beta product that users are debugged. But it cost too much for debugged, you must pay to users for debug. I think that could be a great unit, but actually are other units better for the same price, i´m going to selling my helix and change for ax8. Maybe when line6 purified Helix I purchase it again or no. ye you are disappointing many users.

So, there it is, one update per month isn't enough for you. Okay, if that's your metric for quality, maybe you should simply go with the product that has the greatest frequency of firmware updates. (I kid, I kid... but...)

It is preferable to have less frequency of updates and bring to market a product established.

  7. The one thing about the Helix delays (well, one among many things) that's different than the HD series is the way the mix knob works. On the Helix, if you have the mix knob at 50%, that gives you equal wet and dry signals. If you go past 50, the wet start to get louder than the dry. If you want a delay where the repeats are not quite as loud as the dry, but almost, you'd want to have the mix in the 46-49 range. I actually like the Helix delays quite a lot. I liked the HD/M series delays, too, but I think the only one I really miss is the Auto Volume Echo. I would like to see that on the Helix eventually.

I try with dual delay is sound good, better than others, but to use in mono, i think that is not the solution. Helix delays could be enough but actually is faraway of fractal axe fx.

  8. I would just ignore the word echo in the name. Try switching between the dual delay and the mod chorus echo with a footswitch, with both producing the same delay. They both sound identical to me through headphones. No difference at all.

It confirm that helix delays are bads (or sh*t, sorry).

  9. I need a digital dilay with modulation, no a echo with mod, is it not the same.

I play in a u2 tribute band, in the past i used a m13, pod h500x or axe ultra. These multi fxs has digital delay with mod.

M13 has more effects, and betters delays than helix.

The better delays i played was in the axe-fx ultra, i think that helix was similar, but no. I hope that in the next firmware update Iwill improve the delays. If this does not happen soon I look for a ax8 or FX2 .

  10. One idea:

Helix is missing some essential things like delays, where is digital delay with modulation?

Another think is how to clone a tc2290, a sdd3000 or a eclipse?

    I suggest:

I prefer 3 types of delays with multiples settings. Or maybe only one block for delay with multiples settings.

    Types: echo, digital or ducked.

    Settings: mod, drive, flutter, etc.

    Infinity possibilitys and more versatil.

  11. Thanks for your replay, but you are wrong, pod hd 500x has more delay types.

Is essential a  digital delay with mod (chorus or vibrato),  Mod Echo is not the same. Ducket without modulation is not ok.

  12. I think helix in a large unit. Emulations of amps and cabinets are perfect.

But to improve among other things the delay block. No digital delay with modulation. Also no modulation duck.

I'm waiting for a firmware update with these delays do not understand how the podhd500 have these blocks and the helix no.

  13. I think the hexil is a great unit, GREATS AMPS SIMULATIONS!!!

Helix has a lot of potential but line6 has a long road ahead.

Another think to improve is to have presets references , for example to do simmer.
