Hey all,
So this weekend my HX stomp's rotary encoder #2 (of 3) went bad. The switch mechanism either gave out or was crushed internally, not sure. However, it stopped receiving button presses on encoder 2 under the screen. Long story short, I spent hours looking up posts, parts, sites, and came across what seemed like a compatible match. I soldered in the part a few moments ago and it works like OEM! I hope this helps anyone looking for the part.
With ALLL that said, I can't guarantee that his works for the Helix as it does the HX. I've taken apart both units a few times for maintenance, however I just can't recall what was in the Helix Floor. Likely the same part.
Here's the info:
Digi-Key Part Number: PEC11R-4015F-S0024-ND

Yeahhh, I ended up ordering some encoders off Digikey. Bournes 24PPR, no detent, Quadrature, Model/Part#: PEC11R-4015F-S0024-ND
Can't say it'll work just yet. I'll post my experience on here when after I put them in. I wish more people would chime in about these sorts of things, other than the eye-rolling "That'll void your warranty"... which isn't any help. Thanks for the link, by the way.
Thanks,
J

Contact British Audio and ask them if it's possible to order that part. If it's available to the market, they'll take care of it. Probably you'll have to buy more than one.

Or, just desolder the damaged one and check if it has a code to track it down in the general electronic parts market.

Has anyone come up with a list of part numbers or specs for the encoders on the Helix series? I need an encoder for 1 of the three non-incremental for the HX Stomp.
Thanks,

You sir just made my day! Running Logic on a new 2021 M1 Macbook Pro (Montery) and the only thing I didn't like about my new machine was Native not being available, even tho older projects that used Native loaded fine. Uninstalled, re-installed, tried this and it's now 'validated' without running Logic in Rosetta. Thank You!!!
So no issues with Monterey, eh? That's good to hear. After I'm done working on a couple of these projects I may try to update OSX to Monterey in hopes to resolves some hardware quirks with bluetooth, mouse, keyboard, and drive issues. I have my doubts if it'll help though.
Good luck and enjoy!

The uninstall/reinstall of Native didn't work. Going to try to find a copy of Logic 10.6.2 floating around the net. Ugh.

Well,
Now Native crashes with the latest revision of Logic, 10.6.3. Sigh. I wish I could revert back, unfortunately I can't. I'm going to try a manual uninstall and reinstall of Native. ARRRARARRG!!

Ok. Figured it out, thanks to another post on the forum. It requires you to run Logic in Rosetta, validate the plugin while in Rosetta mode, then you can Un-Rosetta it and run Logic in non-rosetta mode.
1. Close Logic. Install Native
2. Open up Applications folder, right click Logic, click Get Info, check Rosetta.
3. Open Logic, open plugin manager, rescan Native to validate. If it says "validated". Exit Logic.
4. Open Applications folder, right click logic, Get info, uncheck Rosetta.
5. Run Logic and verify plugin is still validated and works.
Note the I'm running the latest version of Big Sur as well, so this fix works on 11.4.

I'm experiencing the same thing here. I had tried out Native a few months back only to find it was very sluggish on my system. Fast forward to now, recently purchased it because I read that they had ironed out the bugs on M1 Mac and now it wont load in Logic.
I've reinstalled. Rescanned plugins several times. Rebooted. No luck. Thoughts?
Running the latest download of Native as of 5 days ago.

My 2-week old HX stomp has been doing the same thing for the past couple of days. Haven't played out with it. Hasn't been abused in the slighted. It's been upgraded to the latest firmware since day one.
The freezing takes place when I'm adjusting values on couple of the different amps. It will still process sound, so it's not like a full on crash, however none of the buttons or knobs respond. It'll freeze, but it won't ever recover, though I haven't given it more than 60 seconds of time to recover from the freeze. So I don't know if it can even recover from a freeze.

Would like to submit a suggestion for an envelope follower.
Somehow tie in an input sensitive controller that follows your dynamics to control the parameters on any effect or block. So, like an envelope filter, you can control the attack, decay, threshold, input sensitivity, range, and whether the effect opens up or down.
I would love to apply a comprehensive follower to things like delay tails, tremolo depth and speed, pitch shifting and so on.
Would be great to be able to attach the envelope follower control to the expression output to control outboard gear too.
EDIT: Just found the IdeaScale. I'll repost this there in a moment. Wouldn't mind discussing the possibilities of the topic here. I understand if you feel it's redundant and this post needs to be deleted.
Thanks for listening.

Baffled by this response.... Are you talking about pitch shifting (as the thread is about) or just an effect with no pitch shifting at all.
- If pitch shifting is involved... the Helix does not do polyphonic pitch shifting at this time. Never has, likely will in a future update... end of story, You will never get two notes to pitch shift at the same time.
- If you are suggesting it can't keep up with your playing (especially something like Wish You Were Here) within a normal patch without pitch shifting, then I completely disagree. Yes it can!
1. Yes, I am referring to polyphonic pitch shifting. And yes, I concur, it can not produce chords at other shifted intervals.
2. No, it can not play a hammer-on whilst another note is sustaining. If you can get it to do so, please, post a vid and show us your tricks.
I'm playing a clean P90 pickup into the pitch shifter with nothing in between... Exactly what a pitch shifter should be looking for.
Would love to see line 6 implement polyphonic pitch shifting, at least to a cleaner degree, for my purposes at least. BUUUUUUUT with that said, that's why they've incorporated their very well-thought out I/O, for these very instances where external effects can take the reins on these kinds of tasks.

Hello all. First time posting, new Helix user here(approaching a month).
I have to agree with the consensus that the helix, even after the latest update, does not track chords well, at all. A great example that everyone can try is play the intro to Wish You Were Here. The helix fumbles at replicating that hammer down from open A to 2md feet B while maintaining the G on the 6th string.
Now to reply to someone's comment about how there isn't anything that can track chords... Play the 5 year old Electro Harmonix HOG2. You get full chord articulation, mind you with a slight bit of latency, which I can handle.
The hog2 can even glissando between two chords, freeze chords, pitch shift while freezing a chord, and allows 8 shifts of pitch all at the same time from - 2,-1, 0, +1,5th, +2, 3rd+2, +3, +4.
5. Years. Old. The helix should be more than capable. At the expense of a couple of blocks? Or 5ms or so of latency, sure! I think we can live with that.
Also, I will commend the helix for its low latency processing on pitch shifting. Now let's just see if we can convince line 6 to improve that pitch shifting algorithm.

For those following this thread and still looking. I found the part for the HX Stomp and it works great. Hope this helps. I also made a dedicated thread for the info.
