  1. I've been having issues with this on my PG (not a wireless). It happens both when I have it hooked up to my FRFR speaker and my PC. Has to do with cell phones causing interference with the unit somehow. Like I said, it happens at home when I have it hooked up to my PC, and I thought it was maybe my headphones, but at a gig we verified it as well with the speaker.

Anyone seen this? Have any solutions?

What I'd really like to see is some sort of contextual help.

What I wish would've been done, was giving all the amp/effect the explanations the patches give with the new stuff. The notes on what each knob/switch is meant to do is a real help when playing around with something. All the original stock stuff would've benefited greatly from that, IMO.

real knobs and rotary selectors make them really easy to use on stage.

I can't agree more here. Being able to just quickly turn a knob is something that's seemingly overlooked these days.

I'm really liking the new amp model. I'm also a mostly blues player, and it's got some great tones for that. I'm always happy to get an amp that has a good clean tone which can be built on. And the HP filter control really allows you to dial in a fat/thin tone depending on what you're going after. I can really get that "edge of breakup" that is often sought after which then cleans up nicely with just a slight volume adjustment on my guitar.

  4. I just learned about this issue and IMO it really needs to be addressed. I suspect Line6 doesn't want to have a mass recall of units however. I've been using a joyo roll boost pedal on my input for months and now I know why it sounds so much better. I use mostly clean-ish tones so it makes a huge difference.

I'm sure my PG is still under the 2 year warranty, so I think I have to send it back for service, but I have gigs which I need it for in the near future.

  5. I came across this issue quite by accident. I've been using a Joyo Roll Boost pedal for a simple volume boost when I need one, and I use it directly inputted and not in the effects loop. I noticed my guitar tone changed (and for the better) when it was plugged in, so I've been using it the last couple weeks. Come here and read all this, and now I know why.

So, a simply Joyo Roll Boost works well as a cheap pedal if you want to add it to the list.

  6. I'd love to get a sound approaching that so I could play rhythm and mimic a B3. Nothing crazy with solos, really just simple slow, held chords.

Anyone tried this? I'd guess using one of the rotary speakers would be a good start, but beyond that I'm starting at zero.

    Edit: well...why not try myself?

It's not terrible I think. It's best fingerpicked instead of strummed.

  7. I just bought a laptop bag from a thrift store. All my local thrift stores have large selections of laptop bags. IMO they are almost perfect - many are padded and some even have hard inserts which provide even more protection. And they all have multiple pockets for cables, power supplies, etc. Just make sure you measure and get one right sized.

    Cost me $3.

  8. My Headrush arrives this week and I'm curious what EQ or other settings people may have noticed they needed to change when going from headphones to the powered speakers?

Also, any tips for when playing with a live band? I'd assume you'd maybe need more midrange to make sure you stand out a little better?

  9. Doesn't seem like your link actually goes to your patch. I'd like to try it tho.

This is v4 of my BB King patch. It's meant to be used with my semi hollowbody and have an eq setup to approximate Lucille's variac switch in position 2 (which is apparently what BB used). Snapshot 1 starts of clean with a bit of breakup and each one gets progressively more gain and really doesn't sound very BB King by #3 I'd say. But it works for a wide variety of blues guitar sounds on my hollowbody guitar.

apparently the error is in the pod go edit. according to jason, if you edit the preset on the pod go, it goes down to 400Hz... maybe they fix this in the next "Pod Go edit" update..

Nice! Gonna definitely give this a try. Thanks for the head's up.

I think this enhancement is only in Helix, not Pod Go, as far as I'm aware.

Not yet. Didn't Jason (the youtube video guy who we all know and who's last name I don't remember) say it was supposed to come to the Pod Go? I don't see any reason this change can't be made for us.

Keep it simple. If the borrowed amp has an fx loop, I'd just go into the FX return to use it as a power amp, and let Pod Go and your normal settings do the work.

Otherwise, go through the front, keep the amp clean and your normal patches will still likely be OK.

But in case, set up a basic fx only patch with what you need, e.g. a distortion, reverb, light delay, and modulation e.g. phaser or chorus, and I'd set the EQ as a lead boost at the end of the chain. That way you have a simple stomp arrangement to control your tone as you need it.

In my view 4 cable is a pain and I honestly don't recommend it. It's hard enough to get everything balanced with your own amp, let alone with a strange rig.

Ok, some interesting choices I didn't consider.

For just going to the FX return on the amp, what output would I use from the Pod Go? The Mono main out? I've read a bunch of stuff about the amp and speaker coloring the sound too much when using the Pod Go's own amp/cab models in conjunction with the physical amp and speaker, so that would worry me a bit in this situation where I need to be plugged in and ready to go ASAP.

I'm probably playing though an older Fender(and I wouldn't be 100% that it even has an FX loop), so I really just wanted to add the Klon to color my sound a little and maybe the Tube Screamer if I needed a more distorted lead. The EQ for lead boost is a good idea tho, I'll certainly give that a try. Thanks.

  13. I want to take my Pod Go to a local jam where I'll be using someone else's amp. I don't have an amp at home to practice or test this on, which is why I'm asking here.

I only want/need to use maybe a couple different overdrives and the wah/volume. So please tell me if I have this correct for this sort of setup:

In the Pod Go, I'll turn off all the amp and cab blocks and just setup the overdrive and distortion I want. Then: guitar into the Pod Go, and which output do I want to use to the front of the amp? Do I want to use the Main Out/mono or the Amp Out?

Also, any tips or things I might want to know about setting up this way? I want to make this as quick as possible to setup.

For clean boosts eg a 3dB lead boost, as I don't use the FX loop (typically FS2 in the factory patches) I merely assign FS2 to the output volume 'level' and with pedal off it's at 0dB, and pedal on its +3dB. Because it's output level it doesn't change my tone, just makes it louder. And because it's not linked to a pedal, the level boost can be used regardless of what FX I have switched on whereas in the above example, if I turn the compressor off then the EXP2 does nothing.

Thanks, I'll give a try to using a simple switch like you mention and see how I like that option.

This is probably going to sound confusing, but you have to separate the controllers, EXP1 and EXP2, from the actual physical pedals, EXP1 and EXP2. The actual physical on-board pedal is EXP1, regardless of the fact if you have it set to act as EXP2 by toggling its function with the toe switch. So that setting only changes the polarity of the physical pedal. If you had an external pedal connected to the EXP/FS jack, it would be EXP2, so the respective polarity setting for it would affect that pedal.

In any case,  most of the time it's not necessary to mess with the pedal polarity settings. It comes into play when trying to get certain external pedals to work correctly.

You are right, that is confusing. :)

But thanks for the explanation. I guess the manual could be more clear here in making that distinction, as it seemed to me perfectly logical to want to be able to set the polarity one way when it's being used as volume, and another for wah.

Just reverse the min and max settings on the compressor and resave the patch.

You know, I didn't know I could do that. I'm not sure how it's done, but I'll look into it. Using the PC editor, can you just drag the min or max over the other one?

At any point I think I'm going to rethink how I'm doing a volume boost, and just place the volume pedal at the very end of the chain instead of just boosting the last effect in the line.

  17. 3 hours ago, phil_m said:

In this instance, EXP2 refers only to the external pedal. The EXP1 setting controls the on-board pedal regardless of whether it’s set to act as EXP1 or EXP2. That’s why the EXP2 setting isn’t doing anything in your case.

Hmmm, ok. But then the manual says that EXP1 is assigned to the Wah block and EXP2 to the Volume block, and you use the "hidden toe switch" to toggle between them. So then why would EXP2 change? Is it because I'm assigning it to control an effect's setting?

The PROBLEM is that WIndows 10 does not work with the PodGO with the provided usb drivers in the download.

There is NO UPGRADE ONLY, if you go to the downloads page and ask it to give you a download the download it gives you for 64 bit WIndows WORKS FINE with Windows 7 and NOT with windows 10.

Brand new Pod Go user here. Windows 10 and working 100% fine for me using Pod Go Edit.

Maybe actually read what Voxman55 took the time to explain to you before simply disregarding it as not being a problem on your end?

  19. I've a new unit I just purchased a week or so ago, so maybe I'm missing something here....

In the global settings there's a setting which allows you to reverse the pedals. IE: normally the pedal full forward is 100% open and back is 0% closed.

I've been trying to set the volume pedal (EXP2) to control the volume of the compressor in my chain. I remove the assignment from the pedal and bypass it so it doesn't control volume at all. And now assign it to the compressor as normal and set the min/max on the compressor volume with the sliders. It works and changes the volume as it should, except I'd like the pedal itself to be reversed so it's full on when back and off when forward.

Setting this in Global Settings, EXP2 polarity, has no effect whatsoever. However....if I set EXP1 to reverse polarity, then it works. Except this isn't EXP1, and then the Wah Pedal is reversed too.

So it seems this is a bug? Or am I missing something here somehow? I should also add that I am fully upgrade with the newest firmware.
