  1. So basically, the Hold setting decides how long the gate will take to close once the Close Threshold has been activated? Decay on the other acts like a 'fade out' once the Gate closes?
  2. Hello all, Is there a way I could adjust my Dual Amp settings all at once with the Treble/Bass/Middle knobs instead of having to tweak it twice for each amp? Thanks!
  3. Does anyone know the significant differences between these two settings for the Hard Gate? Thanks for reading!
  4. Thanks for that reply, really helped understand those two terms better. What do you mean by it affecting the clean tone? How do I know if it's good or bad? Anyway, I was always under this impression that +4db are usually for stomp boxes while the -10db's for racks much like the HD. What about the 'Line' and 'Stomp' settings on the HD? Does it follow the same rationale in which Line equals -10db while +4db's for Stomp? Thanks!
  5. Hello all, I still can't quite wrap my head around the FX Loop +4db or -10db settings on my amp. I'm larely using my HD's modellers, bypassing my amp's preamp. I have my HD set on Line and connected via the FX Return as recommended by meambobbo's guide. My question is, which setting should I have it on for my amp? +4db or -10db? Also, what's the explanation for it? Lastly, anybody know what's the difference between a series and a parellel FX Return on the Marshall JVM210H? Thanks for reading!
  6. Interesting! But how can you tell. I did some digging of both gear and found out : Scarlett 8i6 INST - Frequency Response: 20Hz - 20kHz +/- 0.1dB - Gain Range: +13dB to +60dB - THD+N: 0.004% (measured with 0dBu input and 20Hz/22kHz bandpass filter) - Noise: -87dBu (20Hz/22kHz bandpass filter) POD HD Pro Couldn't find much - 1/4" line-level inputs (mono/stereo, +4/-10) - Mic input with gain knob, high-pass filter, -20dB pad, and phantom power I'm kinda confused with that. What do you mean by setting it to dry? Do you mean setting it on the HD's front or my DAW/Scarlett? On that second point, I'm sure you meant running the HD through the Scarlett's inputs. So that means, having either the analogue outs or the dry outs of my HD into Scarlett's preamp input. Correct? Thanks!
  7. Very cool ideas! Thanks for that. Unfortunately, the Scarlett 8i6 doesn't have a PAD switch. The only option of turning down the gain would be having to use the LINE input than the INST but I'm not a big fan of that. The levels are fine but it just sounded muffled, dead and unrealistic. I'll try your suggestion on having the 'vintage pre'. Appreciate the swift response too, Best regards.
  8. What's the most cleanest way to record Guitar/Bass DI's without clipping through my current chain of a POD HD Pro and a Focusrite Scarlett? I've read that the best would be through SPDIF as it's more 'direct' without any ADC going on. Is this true? I'm gonna be using mostly amp sims for my tones. So, would it be better to go : a. Setting HD as my interface, bypassing any amp sim from it? b. Using the HD's 'dry out' to my Scarlett's preamps set to Inst? I'm clipping if I run it through my Scarlett. The DI levels would peak over 0db and after a little bit of reading, found out it wasn't gonna work. Most of the guitars I have usually are fitted in with an EMG or JB. The active pickups are too much for the Scarlett to handle. I've tried running on Line through it but I get this muddy, unrealistic tone. I know for sure that a great DI Box would do but it would be a waste to not make good use of the HD Pro. I'm just looking to see what's most of the user opinions with SPDIF HD Pro hook-up/Bypassing HD's amp sim for the best clean 'DI' tone from my guitars (like plugging in through an amp) with close to minimal preamp color?. Thanks for reading.
  9. Thanks for that swift reply! Anyway, is there an option where I can enable the trails to not cut off?
  10. Hi guys, I seem to have an annoying problem with my POD HD Pro. I've got 4 presets in 6 banks and each time, I switch between them, I get this slight, millisecond silence. Is it normal or is there something going on with the HD Pro? Also, I've got like 24 patches for each show and each time I get thrown a different setup of amps. I've already set my HD Pro's tone EQ setting according to how I'd like it on my Rokit 5 and ATH-M30 for monitoring so I was wondering if there's a Master EQ on the HD to have the freedom of tweaking the patches globally if it needs be? Hope to hear from you soon, Many thanks for reading!
  11. I'd always have to use my ears to find the right equal levelling for all my patches. Is there a more systematic way to check and have all your patch levels equal across the board?
