This thread was started in january. Just saying.

Thanks. Great Info'

I've just checked this (I've got a HX Stomp with a power supply)
The Helix, Helix Lt, Helix Rack and Helix Control can be PAT tested as they have an internal power supply. (They have a 240v power cable going into them.)
Be very careful which test you apply as a PAT Tester can deliver some harmful voltages to electronic equipment.

Thanks datacommando, i'm fretting right now and sorting out presets.

I had the power switch break once on my Pod XT, luckily Line 6 in the UK repaired it.
-
Great info' many thanks.

Hi
On a daily basis is it best to use the power switch to turn the unit on and off or. leave it on and switch the power suplly on and off ?
I ask this as the power switch does seem a bit tiddly and wonder if it last the test of time.
-
OK Thanks. I've just bought my unit sp i'm trying to understand everything.
-
Hi
The power supply says 3A which is quite a heavy load.
Does the HX Stomp actually draw 3 amps or is the power supply a higher rating than necessary ?
-
Which Les Paul do you have ?
I had a Les Paul Studio which i could never get a decent clean sound from.
I sold it and now have a Les Paul Traditional which sounds OK
Remember these amp modellers are like amps. If your guitar sounds bad you'll get something that's louder bad.
-
Is it for live or studio ?
The nearest i've got is by using a Strat' (Neck pick up) with something like the jazz amp or no amp at all.
As pianoguyy says try some reverb to suit

Cancel the last post. I'm going to buy the Stomp.
The Pod Go can't do 2 paths.
Thanks for all the comments.

Thanks for the input guys, i'm deffo going to get something new.
I now have new dilemma.
I only use Amps, Cabs, EQ, Noise gate and maybe delayn and only ever play into a pc.
So. would a Helix stomp have a better tone than a Pod Go ?
I've only just heard of the Pod Go
-
Which Helix is the same as the kidney shaped desktop Pod HD ?
-
That's sounds like the problem i've always had since the V2.
Many thanks for the info' i'll start looking now.
-
Thanks, My Les Paul is a Traditional but i don't fancy taking it apart. It's the basic amplifier / speaker tones i use most often.
I've always fiddled with the Pod HD which is not good.
I'm sure my Pod 2 has more pleasing tone than the HD that's why i'm thinking of trying a Helix.

Hi,
I'm debating buying a Helix. So, is it that much better than my Pod HD ?
If so, in what way ? I'm trying to get a Peter Green tone, if there's anyone that could help it would be appreciated.
I have a Stray, Tele, and a les Paul.

Thanks daveny5,
have you tried one that works OK ?
I've seen people struggling midi/usb in Windows10
-
Hi
I need a USB to Midi adaptor/ cable that works with Windows 10 and my Pod 2
Is there anyone can tell me which one to buy as i'm guessing there's loads that will not work.
-
Hi
When i'm playing the HD Bean after a few minutes the volume gets lower and lower.
The quickest work round is to press A,B,C, or D to slect another patch and then do the same to get back to the original again.
Any ideas to stop the volume fading please.

Stereo widener

Is it for recording ? if so don't do it. Record in mono and use the DAW when you mix down. ( I know you've said you don't want to use the DAW)
I use Cubase and found if you record in stereo you can get balance problems with some of the plug ins when doing a final mix.
