  1. in the M series most effects were either mono or stereo effects and although i have not personally checked them all but i believe thats still the case

Well, I think this update is fantastic. I love the fact that we are getting legacy models.  So many more tools for the arsenal, especially the HX reverbs as I can use them for much more than guitar in the studio.

Just two question though, and it refers to what I have in bold quoted of yours:

Are the legacy FX mono, stereo, or just a mixture of both? If it is just a mixture, are they labeled clearly as either?

  2. 1. Yes, the controversy part was people THINKING that bring M series stuff would somehow have taken away from making new models... wasn't the case.

    2. all the tones get migrated correctly so none of your current tones change... the "legacy" category appears along side stereo/mono/legacy when selecting effects... it take no more or less steps to get to them... just a slightly different path.

I think its a great update, and the reverbs are pretty sweet!

I think where they figured there might be controversy was:

    1. People complaining "Hey! This update is nothing but a bunch of outdated, last generation effects, many of which we already had in Helix! What a rip off!"
    2. People complaining "Hey! All the reverbs I use just got thrown under the 'Legacy' category!  I want them under Reverbs where I've always had them! What a pain!"

Myself... it's not the most exciting update, but it looks okay to me.  Some of those M-series effects that had no HX equivalents might come in handy.  And I guess we'll see how those HX 'verbs sound.

  3. did you actually purchase a license?

if you got a free license or was included... .might just be for the plugin version....

or if you picked up a used/second hand toneport or pod studio... it may not have qualified for a pod farm 2 license....

    try pod farm 1

the product is not garbage.... doesnt sound like you ever used it.

license issues, do not define a product.

Followed Above. Still doesn't work. Says I still don't have license for Pod Farm 2. Deleted and reinstalled. Nothing. No sound. no signal. Nothing. Product is garbage.

  4. well yeah... lots of things WOULD be good... i was telling you what it can do....

it would be good if the footswitches gave my feet mini massages as well... but it cant do that....

for things you think WOULD be good... https://line6.ideascale.com/

Yes, as mentioned in my question already = saving every step.....

To the experts of you:  wouldn't it be beneficial to have an undo button, anyway? I sometimes hit a knob by accident and if I made several alterations befor that I had to go back from the beginning of my alterations. It is nasty to always "save" one step, in order to be able to get back to the last step. Moreover, a regular undo-button as I am used to in pc-software, usually can step back step by step and undo it.  Best

  5. might be wishful thinking... just with the LT not having a mic input.. they might think thats a limited use...

no reason it couldn't work, but i know they are trying hard to unify the products..... so they dont have a bunch of different scenarios like they did with the pod hd stuff.

i don't know anything either way.... just suggesting a possible reason i don't think it will come quickly.

I'm also expecting those on current Helix, man ;-)
    Am I too optimistic perhaps?

  6. far from underwhelmed... sometimes i get option paralysis.... overwhelmed with too many choices and options...

just a flip side of the coin.

I can easily get something useful out of everything available, but would be easier if it just showed  my favorites. :)

  7. just a addon note... native and the new HX edit i believe are sharing code now... possibly even the point of updating from the previous Helix editor...

so i think you'd basically get a tuner in both if it happens at all....

Audio is passed through the USB cable as evinced by the fact that the Helix can be used as an audio interface for your computer or with Helix Native. That should mean that a tuner is possible in HX Edit although it may require a more substantial coding effort than is immediately obvious. As you point out the editor is solely a controller interface right now. Maybe Helix Native will have a tuner before HX Edit gets one. There are already plenty of other computer standalone and plugin tuners available.for DAWs though so I suppose this may not satisfy the folks who would like to see one in HX Edit.

  8. be cool if there was a modular wireless add on port... sort of like a USB drive size thing that people can by a transmitter and receiver and easily integrate. and at multiple levels... meaning a cheap and cheesy G10 level when that does the trick then onwards with the likes of the G70 etc just build in the receiver parts that are common to all and the magic parts can be on the modules. (alot of assumptions.... clearly... but an idea none the less.)

  9. looper.... lots of looper....

    multiple stereo loops....

ability to store them and keep them and have them be portable etc

and if its possible, keep refining the UI... truly Helix's strong point!

not saying it needs anything... but whatever else you add from the wishlist risks complicating it!

i'd also avoid gimmicks... not everything needs a touch screen just because you can. :D

(not that it couldnt make sense in some contexts.)

  10. Nope, it seems fine for me. i have the rack and a separate pitch black rack tuner and can easily compare.

    both work, acceptably to me.

Am I the only one who thinks the tuner works perfectly fine?

    Lol

  11. only thing i might suggest is to disconnect EVERYTHING except for the power... including any guitar variax usb speakers midi etc etc etc EVERYTHING.....

then try power on while holding direction pad left.

if that doesnt fix it.... and you still want to try again... remove the plug overnight to allow any static charge etc in the unit to bleed off....

beyond that, you may need service.

  12. wow... only the actual cable and ports are universal.... all software interfaces need tweaked for the host operating system....

just added some reality to your post....

plenty of USB devices require driver updates to work...

please continue working on your issues with the support team....

i understand you're not happy with things as they are, but that doesnt mean we get to make up facts about how USB works.

This is poor driver implentation from Line 6. USB...UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS. Means just that, UNIVERSAL.

It should never be an issue with Windows connecting to a USB device. I have not seen an issue with USB connectivity in years or in decades. I asked Line 6 to give me the name of a PC laptop that would work 100% for sure, the support person said, "If you're curious, I've never had any driver or connectivity issues on my Lenovo Think Pad here at my desk.

works."   I am NOT curious, I need a product that WORKS. I'm still trying to get Line 6 support  stand behind their product (Helix). Clearly this is a issue that many people are encountering.

    Frankly this is unacceptable.

  13. it's just a controller... the answer would be in the manual for the device you are using the FBVMKII with.

I too just recently purchased the shortboard MKll.  Is there a way to disable the Volume pedal so it only performs the wah function?

  14. if you'd review the thread here, it clearly asks that you contact line6 support. they have numerous potential solutions for this including physically fixing the device if it needs it...

they wont likely reply here... you need to initiate contact. but the answer is there.

I have the same problem for 2 years now with windows 10. I cant understand how this could happen in a  such a big and famous company like you. Its never too late to show respect to your customers and give a solution to such a big problem that all of us have to deal with. I hope that i will get a reply soon to solve this frustrating problem.

  15. you cant record midi with it...

but you should be able to record audio and playback midi....

trick is you have to use the outputs on the UX1 also... so plug speakers or headphones into it.

at least i suspect that may be your issue.... if trying to play through another soundcard or built in speakers... that doesnt work.

if I bought a tone port ux1 from a dude off crags list, can I record into my Ableton in midi with it? Ive updated it, got license, got the monkey, got the drivers and authorized everything with my MacBook Pro retina on OS Sierra.... I can see and click on the drivers to use the tone port in my Ableton but there is no sound to master from Midi track #1..... Am I missing something here??? Problem... I asked the guy do I need a serial number? a login or anything??? He said naw...... Fml... Someone please help... thx!
