  1. Hi, This issue was fixed in the v3.71 Firmware update back on January 10, 2024 that was entirely bug fixes, including the Tessellator and Glitch delay issue. 3.71—Delay > Tesselator could exhibit unexpected behavior in 3.70—FIXED 3.71—Adjusting the Delay > Glitch Delay block's Time parameter could sometimes result in muted audio or other unexpected audio behavior—FIXED Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Hi, A few things to remember about the improvements in the Helix are, the main Core operating system of the Helix range of products was modified at version 2.80 of the firmware, and since that time many improvements have been made to the audio with almost every update since, including v.3.10 which included - Quote:- "Oversampling has been increased across the board, resulting in higher fidelity, fewer aliasing artifacts, and smoother decay trails, especially when running multiple distortion stages or with higher gain tones. Many people might not notice a difference, but those highly sensitive to aliasing will appreciate 3.10's smoother response. Amp and effects models have been optimized to accommodate these improvements without increasing DSP usage." Then at version 3.50 the new Cab Engine was introduced and brought in the option of movable microphone positions. Also in v3.60 a few of the 3.50 factory presets were updated to utilize 3.60 cabs where appropriate, and 3.70 added yet more updated cabinets. If you check the settings for the original (legacy) speaker cabinets you will find that the all default settings have Low Cut set at 80Hz and a High Cut at 8.0kHz and on all the new cabinets the default settings are 'Off". You might find your tones are made slightly warmer by rolling off some of the higher frequencies, as generally with a guitar speaker there is not much happening above 5 or 6kHz. These updates are not done on a whim, but are generally well researched and user asked for improvements, plus I have been using my Helix since late 2015 and I have no complaints - it just keeps getting better. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  3. Hi, You might find some helpful extra information in this thread:- Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. Hi, If you are going to do tone comparisons, then you have to play the identical scale, riff, chord progression, phrase or whatever by recording it absolutely dry, and then playing that example, back through the various presets you wish to compare. Your example doesn't comply with the reference standard. By comparing the audio waveforms it is clear that the second set of examples are played differently. Furthermore, you specified that you are doing a straight up comparison between firmware v2.92 and v.3.70. Not sure how you are trying to do that because there were major changes to the Cab Engine in firmware v.3.5. Also, the Factory 1 Preset 001 Essex A30 in the latest firmware uses the new Cabinet models whereas previous versions has the old 2x12 cabinets. Factory 1 Preset 072 Felix Engl is a totally different from whatever it is you have supplied in your example file. Your "Dire Straits preset from somewhere" is meaningless - we have no point of reference to check against. It is also recommended that when you change Firmware versions you should rebuild all the presets and perform a Factory Reset to bring all the presets into line with the currently installed firmware. You don't mention doing any of these things? You comment - "I have no idea when these "changes" have been introduced, so I'll stick with 292 for now. Don't really have the nerve to try out 196 different firmwares in order just to sneak a few new effects". Well those changes were made to satisfy the requests of many, many users and I don't understand where you get the idea that you have to load "196 different firmwares" - you don't - firmware updates are incremental, stuff keeps being added therefore you only need to load the latest iteration to have everything available. I have to agree with @Schmalle that any sonic differences in your wav are negligible and since the changes to the Cab Engine it would seem the majority of Helix users are very happy with the improvements made to the unit overall. You appear to be in a minority, but if you perform an audio comparison test properly and don't normalise the capture, check the waveforms, you may find that you have simply entered the realms of audio "cork sniffing", and it's all an illusion usually only available to bats. If I were you I would do a factory reset and rebuild the presets, and if you still don't like what you hear you can stay at FWv.2.92 in your own sonic isolation booth. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. HI, Have you considered that you could possibly use your Neural Plug-in an a similar fashion to how you would connect an external hardware amp sim, such as the Strymon Iridium. Your Focusrite 8i6 has enough ins and outs to give this a try. Set up a patch on your Helix to with whatever dirt/fuzz/OD blocks you want then a Send/Return block out to the Focusrite and into your DAW and Neural Plug-in. The output from the DAW goes back to the Focusrite and back to the Return on the Helix, which is followed by whatever time based FX, unique delay/reverbs you wish going to the stereo outputs. the Helix stereo outs then go back into the Focusrite to be recorded on a different track. I'm not sure if it will work exactly how you want, but give it a shot, you have enough patching options available. A bit of careful planning is required to make sure you have all your audio ins and outs set up correctly. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. Hi, Open a ticket with Customer Support: - https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html Type “Native” into the Search function box and hit return. When it pops up a window saying that nothing matched your query, you will also see a button that allows you to open a ticket. On the next page - click the “No Product Applies” option and fill in your report in the space provided. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Hi, Global Settings > In/Out - USB Trim 1/2 - Sets the level of incoming audio from USB 1/2, which bypasses all Helix processing. Normally, this should be left at 0.0dB. (Adjustable from -60dB to +18dB) Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. Hi, From the HX Stomp XL Owner’s Manual - Page 7 ”EXP 1/2, FS 7/8 Connect an expression pedal here to adjust a wide variety of parameters.* With a Y-cable (tip-ring-sleeve 1/4" jack, split to two tip-sleeve 1/4" jacks), two expression pedals can be connected. Alternatively, you can add one (or with a Y-cable, two) external footswitches to access additional stomps, presets, snapshots, etc. (FS7=tip, FS8=ring). To set this jack’s function(s), see page 57. By default, this jack is set to accommodate a Mission SP1-L6H Line 6 Expression Pedal, which has a toe switch that toggles between EXP 1 (Wah/Pitch or Poly Wham) and EXP 2 (Volume/Pan). For external footswitches, the momentary (unlatched) type should be used.” From Page 57. No - Stop! I am not going to re-type the entire Manual when you can download it and read it for yourself - here: Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi, As a noob to the Helix world, and wanting to dig beneath the surface of the usual stuff, you might find that purchasing a copy of this would be a good investment. Full of good stuff. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Yes! You were supplied with the correct information needed to assist you, and I would suggest you leave your bad attitude at the door. Try that over on TGP (The GearPage) and see how you get along there with a response like “I DON’T WANT TO READ 75 pages of the manual”. Yeah, right! Great first post and follow up.
  11. For anyone else who may encounter issues when trying to get Native up and running, those nice folks over at Sweetwater provide this info:- https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/start-helix-native-trial-sweetwater/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. Hi, When seeking assistance from other users it is a great help to know exactly what your Computer, Operating System and DAW are. Generally you can simply download and install Helix Native 3.71 and if it is not registered as a fully licensed version it should run as a fully functional version for 15 days. I'm not sure why you have a version that doesn't do that, and it's not something that I recall having seen previously. I have been using HX Native since it's first release. Anyhow, you said that you couldn't raise a support ticket because you don't own registered product. I'm not sure that you need to own any hardware contact support as you have already created a User Account in order to post here, I would suggest that you click on the SUPPORT item in the Menu above. Then click on the "Contact Support" icon on the page that appears. On the next page you have the option to "Open a Support Ticket" (click the link on that page), or you can call Line 6 on the number supplied. It maybe that you just need to authorise you computer through your user account. There is also this:- Hope this helpsmakes sense
  13. Hi, You have encountered the Gatekeeper which is built into the MacOS. To save me from lots of typing, go to this link, and follow the information given there. The new Helix Native v3.71 installed without any issues on my iMac running Catalina. EDIT: Your LT, HX Edit and Helix Native all need to be running the most up to date versions to avoid conflicts. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, Information regarding "Synchronizing Tempo via MIDI" can be found on page 60 of the HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a418962611d636e7c51b/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Hi, It appears that the Custom Tone interface has been updated (well, it looks a little different), but I just went into the Helix section and managed to download a couple of files as a test. Clicked on the download icon and a message pops up asking if I wanted to download the selected item, click on download and whoosh, transferred direct to my download location. I don’t visit Custom Tone that often, so I have no idea when the page design changed, maybe it was in a state of flux when you tried to use it and that was the issue. Try again, and report back with your result. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  16. Hi, I downloaded your FTLOG preset and it is missing the IR which you have used when creating the patch. I’m guessing that it was something in the regular 4x12 cab family, so I used a Marshall Greenback IR that I had, just to try it out. Yes the first thing in your signal path is a Noise Gate block. and regular contributor “cruisinon2” possibly thought you had not done that, and was pointing out the the very first input section of the Helix already has a noise gate built-in, therefore you can use that and save a block for something else. Anyhow, you preset doesn’t seem that different to lots of other high gain presets- string noise comes with the territory. You probably need to master your string damping techniques. See video: Maybe you should also check the height of your pickups. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. Huh? Why? There is nothing to compare as they both do entirely different things. HX Edit is exactly that - a free editor for any of the Helix family of products. It also allows you to edit, manage and collate a library of your presets. It cannot produce any audio. It's a remote control for the hardware and cannot function without being connected via USB. Helix Native is the same as a fully functional, full blown Helix in plug-in software form, capable of running inside a DAW for creating and playing back absolutely anything that you could create and playback in the hardware, minus a few bits like Send and Return jacks noted above. No comparison! Now - where did I leave my potato masher? Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Hi, Helix Native is the equivalent of the “software brain” that lives inside your Helix floor. It does everything that your hardware does, but it doesn’t have some of the hardware specific features such as a Looper, or the Send/Return jack sockets, etc. It lives inside your DAW as a plug-in, that you can use to process any audio track you like. HX Edit is (quote from HX Pilot’s Guide) - “HX Edit is a simple, but powerful, editor, preset librarian, and IR manager application. It allows you to easily customize, backup, and manage your tone presets and setlists, as well as manage the Impulse Responses on your Line 6 Helix or HX device.” Download a 15 day fully functional trial version of Helix Native here: https://uk.line6.com/helix/helixnative.html For more info please read: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f1542654ead6ac7570/application/pdf/Helix Native Pilot's Guide 3.70 - English .pdf https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a4167cd654eae06274c7/application/pdf/HX Edit Pilots Guide 3.70 - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. Just like the hardware - when weird, unexplained stuff starts to happen... REBOOT!
  20. Here we go, once again, There are no Line 6 staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). This link is where you need to go to have any hope of your suggestion been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. Then you should use this “sticky thread” in this forum to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. ------------------------------------------------------ Regarding your request, well, that all depends on how many people vote for the idea, which at the moment stands at eleven votes. https://line6.ideascale.com/c/search?query=microcosm The concept of the Hologram Microcosm emulation would probably use up at least the best part of one of the DSPs already in a Helix unit. Plus the helix already has a lot of the stuff built in that is in the Microcosm, it simply requires a little thought and experimentation. You have a Looper, Glitch Delay, Euclidean Delay, Poly Capo and many reverbs to try out in various orders. IIRC, John Nathan Cordy came up with a preset using those ideas, I think it was named "Icicles". Do come back at let us all know when you have managed to make your own software version as a preset, or failing that, pick up a pre-owned Microcosm on Reverb and stick it in your FX Loop. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. HI, I usually only use GarageBand on my iPad for grabbing ideas quickly which I can then load into Logic in the studio later. Anyhow, I have a copy Of GarageBand on my studio Mac, and opened it up to see if I could find anything obvious. O.K. the situation is, when you create a new audio track to record the HX Stomp processed audio that comes on USB 1&2, you can see the level meters respond to the input - good. Next you should set a second audio track with mono line input to USB 5. Then if you right click (or use Option T on the keyboard) on the highlighted Audio track you should get a pop up menu where you set "Record Enable" shown as a white dot in red square - you can now click it on in the AudioTrack so that it is armed ready to record from your selected USB channels. Before recording anything save the Project as a template that you can load up next time and you should be ready to go. Also, if you have previously recorded within GarageBand some processed audio on USB 1&2, and dry on USB 5, you could make a duplicate of that file (always work on a copy) that you can load up again and then delete the existing audio which should leave you a "blank canvas" already set up to record from your Stomp. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Looking at your screen grab, this appears as if it should be something directed to Eventide rather that Line 6, but virus check your computer system NOW!
  23. Hi, This has been an ongoing issue for quite sometime now, but it recently came back to the top of the list of problems with "amp sims", that will also include Helix Native. To save me from lots of typing, you may want to get some insight from a few videos on YouTube. Here ya go:- This is what started the ball rolling. Even more info. Even more info. Hope this helps/makes sense.
