  1. Be sure to install the new drivers as well. I'll assume you are on Windows. Install that driver before connecting the amp to computer. Also check the USB switch setting in the back of the amp. Make sure it is set to PC Android. The new driver installer DL is on the Line 6 Software page for Spider V just under the new Spider V Remote software DL.
  2. ^^^^ Thanks to the Line 6 Team !!! Awesome!!!
  3. That's the nice thing about this amp. Direct Outs are not tied to master vol control.
  4. Output would be the Spider V or other output source like your computer.
  5. Great Video at Youtube on how to use the Spider V EQ block. 2 videos.
  6. Did you download the drivers? I assume you have Windows PC. http://line6.com/software/index.html Restart the computer once the drivers are installed. Install Cubase Software. Connect the Spider via USB to your computer. Run Cubase and start a new project. To record, select the Spider V as your audio input source for any track you want to record to. Arm the track and then record. Audio should stream and start recording. Cubase has Youtube videos with great demos. Just know that Spider V is your interface (they'll use their own)
  7. More and more users have found solutions. Either it's the OTG connector needed, or other issues that people submit a ticket for. It's a pain of bringing mobile apps to amps. Line 6 isn't the only co having problems with brands of phones, user's wifi, ISP, router mfg, and so on. Many have griped for computer editors, but that is not in the cards. I've learned too that the front panel editing is easy enough when I need to use it. I used it more when on gigs than I do the app. I also have not really used the custom tones of others. I seem to always have to adjust all those settings for my guitars anyway. Novel idea for some, I just don't find that working for me. I tested numerous phones and tablets. Sometimes the older devices worked and newer type did not. Then the OTG connectors were tried. Seem to fix a lot of problems with the app.
  8. I would have bought the amp and get the free wireless. Then if it didn't work with the device for whatever reason, the option to return is there. Try a unit at the store with your phone and see if it works. Not sure if being a USB 3.0 would be a problem. Also read hit and miss about the Diag. Some units require OTG connectors to work.
  9. Edge type delay. Dotted 8. Set to 1 repeat (feedback) and set mix so delayed note is almost as loud as played note. Brit type amp model, take gain to more a crunch type, boost mids. Light reverb
  10. What I heard- many were based on Amplifi and Firehawk which are based on Amp Farm. Then they were tweaked for these amps.
  11. What's the charge time of the G10T with this new cable? Considering getting one, but curious if it charges as fast as the amp or receiver base
  12. My presets are setup with some added EQ in the preset. Get them where I like for gig level. Global EQ is on our mixer channel if needed. Most of the time I run flat.
  13. Nice deal with the free G10T. The amp is nothing like a JCM800, but a JCM800 is nothing like this amp either. Not to say you can't get Marshall tones out of this because you can, plus tons of other sounds and amp models. Give those speakers time to break in. I ran mine on the drum loop for hours cranked up while I went to work. Other thing to check out are videos on Youtube about Spider V EQ section. http://line6.com/support/topic/28020-video-on-eq-usage-in-spider-v-good-info/
  14. Might take time to get used to the full range sound of a guitar cab. I use my 240 live all the time. Its a fun amp to use. It will get loud enough for me and my loud drummer. I only have to run the volume at around 11 oclock. It's very loud. Tube amp of 100W with a standard 412 cab will be much louder. You have very efficient guitar speakers x4 being pushed with 100W of rms power. That's also comparing a rig that can cost 4-5x what a 240 does. What is heard in perceived loudness is based on true power, speaker efficiency, and other things. Ways to compare the amps, but can a tube amp and cab get the sound of all the 240s amps cabs and effects, and is it stereo? Pros and cons to everything. What is in the 240 is very usable.
  15. Those are 4 ohms speakers in there. 16 ohm speakers will not help to obtain more power
  16. Mono or Stereo option is your choice or preference. Many effects are set up for stereo which will provide a fuller sound. The speaker cables they recommend are just standard speaker cables for amplifiers. Do not use instrument cables because the thinner strand signal wire cannot take the higher current of the power amplifier. Do not use patch cables for the same reason. These will work fine: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Pro-Co/StageMASTER-16-Gauge-Speaker-Cable.gc Get 2 cables for stereo. Only 1 needed for Mono (use left amp output)
  17. I noticed that my app now has My Tones on R side, and EDIT (amp models and fx) on Left. Edit part of the app no longer fills the screen. Only half.
  18. My 240 and FBV3 are pretty quick together.
  19. No. They are not exactly guitar speakers. You could use other speakers if disabling cab in presets.
  20. I know more players are going away from loud amps on stage. Mic the amp, run direct, use IEM's, crank the wedge. At many shows our sound eng's will like to minimize stage sound. Makes it easier to get a better mix and not worrying about louder amps on stage that make blending mixes more work. Amps and live work for me have changed a great deal. We play many more shows that want low stage sound. No 4x12 and 50w head. Spider V or floor type modeling like HD500 or so work nice for this. I think eq in post is used more to boost and shape frequencies in a modeling board or modeling amp more than it is a cutting tool like in daw mixes. Even presets you buy for modelers have all been "re-shaped" with some eq. Not a sound engineer just a player so I don't know.
  21. Watched these a couple days ago. Using the EQ makes more sense to me now. Makes the amp louder too.
  22. That exp pedal setting is fine. My amp is on 1.04. Haven't seen 1.11. I'm also updating on Win 10 laptop.
  23. The app should update if one is available. To update the amp, use the USB to a computer and use Line 6 updater software.
