  1. Multiple mics on Cab Sims http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Multiple-Mics-on-Cab-Sims/813019-23508
  2. Hey, Boys and Girls. This is only for those who are handy with a soldering iron. So, I decided to take advantage of the Helix's IEC power connection and power the Helix as well as my RC-20XL looper with one IEC cable. I bought the following items to make it happen; 1) a 9V switch mode power supply 2) Barrel Connectors - 5.5 O.D./2.1 I.D. 3) an IEC "Y" Adapter •Important• With this power supply you'll have to reverse the polarity so that its output is Tip Negative. You can do the same thing for your pedalboard if its power supply uses an IEC connector. Here's the end result.
  3. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Multiple-Mics-on-Cab-Sims/813019-23508?submitted=1 It'd be great if we could have more than just one mic on the Cab Sims. A stereo pair of room mics and a polarity revered mic pointed at the back of open-backed Cabs would be great.

Yeah. This winter and now spring has been particularly windy. Maybe this summer, dude.

    Annnnd.....

Holy crap! Sorry to hear that. As far as I know, I'm the only one lucky enough to own a Helix on the island. I play every weekend at Rosario Resort and sometimes show up for open mic at Random Howse - like I will tonight. There are a couple of other taverns with music periodically.

    Helix Vs. AX8

Indeed. My post wasn't directed at you or anyone in particular. I just think people agonize too much on which is "best".

    Helix Vs. AX8

Helix, AX-8, which is better? Who knows and at this point, at least for me, who cares? I don't. I have the Helix now. Is it perfect? Not by a long shot. But... BUT, does it give me the sound that I want? That would be a resounding YES! Even if, for the sake of argument, one actually is better than the other, can the better one actually be immediately and easily noticeably better than the other? Like anyone could pick the "better" one out of the two in a heartbeat? In a blind test? Highly unlikely, I say. Especially at these loftier price points. We're splitting hairs here. If you think you actually can tell the difference, great! Make your choice... and then be done with it!
  11. Just a thought but if, like me, you are vertically challenged, the actual Helix bag may be awkward to carry unless you use the backpack straps. For folks like us, a horizontal bag works better.
  12. Gator G-Mix-L 1224 Like a glove. Better hurry though. They've been discontinued.
  13. Wow! Cool bag!
  14. Third gig with the Helix this weekend. Still balancing out the preset to preset volumes but that's about it. Loving' the thing! I'd started changing all my patches so that each one has at least 2 different foot switch accessible sounds thinking I'll use fewer presets that way... NOPE. Now I have 8 presets instead of 7 and most have 2 very different sounds - one has 3!! LOL.
  15. Yeah, forums are rife with people too eager to ridicule. I have to be mindful not to fall into that trap myself. I don't even like the "Down Vote" option at Line 6 IdeaScale. I think that to not vote for an idea you don't like is sufficient and the down voting thing just seems more like a slap-down to me. Completely unnecessary and borderline belligerent.
  16. Not USB - wrong connector type. The iPad wants to connect to a USB A (female) connector. The Helix's USB connector is a "B" connector like those found in printers and audio interfaces. He'll have to use the Aux In and sum the iPad's signal to mono. That's the simplest route. Or, for the complicated route, create two effects return blocks and two pan blocks (L/R) for stereo. Each Return and Pan block would of course have its own path - Path 1a and 1b.

    Helix Vs. AX8

No need to be humble about that opinion. It's true. And my back will be ever so thankful! :D
  18. It's one of the parameters of every Cab Sim - usually on the second page. I think it's just called "Rib 4038"
