@HonestOpinion thanks for the guidance on the restore. Never had a problem before. - it worked like a charm! I searched high and low on my machine for the latest *.hils, finding all the old ones, but not this weeks. Where is it residing? Any idea why can't i see it anywhere on my machine? thanks

oops- ignore that, rd2rk.
Been running 3.11 since the release w no problems, so thought I'd check the community to see if the Cordy preset source file went bad or some other wonkiness other than my v3.11 .Judging from the acerbic tones, this has become a touchy subject with the gurus, but I've been fine until now ( Win10, not Mac) Apologies if i provoke your wrath. I noticed the 1152 downloads since it posted 9/1/21 . If it helps , I downloaded and imported other presets from the last few days with no problems. The Cordy preset is the only one giving me trouble.
So perhaps my Edit 3.11 went bad? nothing else is failing.
Thank you, SashaFranck , for reporting successful preset loading ( but did you download it recently,. or are you running an older ?) .
Thanks to the uber gurus, datacomm, and everyone else :)

HX Edit v3.11 and firmware up to date. Just downloaded from the Line 6 site https://line6.com/customtone/profile/HelixArtistTone/ Unfortunately, I am getting a persistent error "HX Edit unable to import the preset because it contains unrecognizable models". Any similar experience? Advice? thanks, all.

Sorry to bother- I cannot for the life of me find a definitive, updated answer- can the wording in the Scribble Strip be edited from a computer via the latest HX Edit? Or must one use the knobs on the hardware? thanks.

POD Go FAQ
in POD Go
Why NOT put Helix dual DSP, with auto impedance, in this form factor?
Hope Line 6 comes out with a Neural Quad Cortex-sized unit

I'm not good with IT stuff. Please pardon...
Any chance of writing HX Edit for Android?
Any way to run Edit on an emulator or such on Note 10 plus? Also assuming the 10 + is adaptable to USB interface.
Thanks

Sounds like a good plan! You set XLR out as line or mic?
Thanks, j

Timely subject - I'm looking for optimal settings for live, straight-to-the-board use with a variety of acoustic/electric and electric guitars. So... sounds like you recommend the attenuation of a DI box ( your post is too technical for my world- I'm an anesthesiologist, not an engineer) . In at he absence of a DI , what do you recommend ( in simple terms, [;ease) ? ( or perhaps I've missed the point ) .
would your recommendation be predicated on a variety of other settings in the chain?
cheers,
Dr J

Yep. I just found this YouTube channel today, and he is using a crossover split - not an a/b or y split.
Would the TILT EQ be a replacement for the 2 volume block crossover?

Yo, Helix brainiacs!
I miss the days of wirelessly connecting to the Firehawk for editing during live performances. Could actually get some crazy effects by tweaking the delay parameters in the middle of a trail , and other cool stuff. And there's a bunch of other reasons for live use of the editor that i'll spare you. As for the foot control- g'head , but it doesn't work as well as a tablet or laptop for me.
I've been researching and coming up with zip- any suggestions for wirelessly connecting laptop to the USB -B on the Helix ? Otherwise , i'll stick to my 10 foot USB cable.
Thanks

Hello, Line 6- Any progress towards running Helix Edit on Android or iOS? Would a virtual workaround be possible?
Would really like to have this option.
Thanks,
Jay

Frustrating to only be able to read the title of Snapshots 1-4 in Snap/Stomp setting ! Would be great if Snapshot names would auto scroll to 5-8.
thoughts?

Also, I hate to diss someone's work, but I think you'll have much better luck with Ownhammer, CabIR.eu, CelestionPlus, Redwirez, and the free Allure pack than 3Sigma. The 3Sigma stuff is very scooped and bright, might work great for some people, but not me, and I don't think my opinion is unique.
I have been using 3Sigma Acoustic IR's ( Taylor) live with good results. Acoustic guitar IR's, not cabs.

Been playing Tak and Ibanez acoustic guitars live through the Helix using 3Sigma IR's . Great tone, very little clip, fizz, etc. Much better than the Firehawk.
I asked for help on the acoustic stuff before - experience was the key.
I saw a post that described a way to scroll thru the IR's using controller-assignment. Just can't recall. Anyone have the link to the thread?

....Also, some of the effects parameters should be better explained, I know have a more or less correct Hall reverb for the acoustic after much experimentation. Still some way to go with regards to the TC Electronic Hall of Fame though ...
I move for a wiki-manual , drawing on the brains and experience of the community. It would be for understanding and using the various parameters for the effects and amps. It could be housed in the support section . It could include links to other info sources. The benefit is it would be easily accessible and indexed/ content-tabled, and specific for the product ( Helix). Unless Line 6 has the time to write about all the effects and such, this would be a great resource.
Line 6 , what say ye?

.... I wish there was more info on idividual effects parameters somewhere since I am not the authority in using the various effects to start with. There is next to no info on the settings of parameters so experimentation sometime is very tedious on elaborate blocs.

The octoverb help listed above is another shining example of how helpful the community can be .
Just wish Line 6 would publish important details - ones that have a practical value- like this info on the Octoverb . There are so many parameters on some of the delays and other effects that are hard to understand. Same for the deeper tube behaviors on the amps. I've seen great links to info spread out amongst the thousands of entries.

It'd be cool to attach wheels to the bottom like a suitcase - any ideas? ( got this idea after watching bandmate drag my Helix backpack like it had wheels)
i'll look on google

I've put anything that casts shadows in front of Firehawk and Helix, including gig bags, etc. I like the idea of a custom made hood (metal, plastic, fabric?)
As for heat sink, I reported that problem back in the POD days. Definitely a problem. Firehawk has suffered all sorts of of unpredictable effects, none good, in sunlight.
Let us know.

The converter seems too be removed which is probably because of legal implications as mentioned 3Sigma has some awesome acoustic IRs in use a tube preamp and compression and a Gibson 3Sigma acoustic IR with my Carvun AE185 and its Piezzo. it sounds very good
I assume this regards the "failure to load the IR " issue . I will delete them from the Helix if the converter is mission critical unless I'm missing an easy step.
Probably buy the 3Sig

Nice find. The Neumann U87 sits really nice in my acoustic patch. I'm using it in conjunction with a modified version of datacommando's patch: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/1802464/
I downloaded the Taylor IR's into the editor, but they do not appear in the block editor window so I can't get them into the IR block .
Any ideas?

Been with Line 6 since original POD. Just opened Helix LT box. Downloaded some great acoustic patches - tone is amazing . But some are silent and I can't figure out why. Tuner is fine, but no sound. Is there a mute block hidden?
I'm having difficulty assigning P1 to volume. Was easy on Firehawk, POD , etc .
What am I missing on these issues?
Lastly- is Helix editor not fully functioned ? i.e.- must I still go to the Helix for various tweaking.
Apologize for any redundant thread.

Disable Snapshot Control from EDITOR? (not just hardware)
in Helix
Posted
Sorry- remind me how to do this. The update notes seem to only mention accessing this feature from the hardware itself.
Also- can we assign a delay parameter to both a footswitch and an EXP pedal? I don't think so. I'm looking to toggle delay mix w a footswitch and also w an EXP. (one trick might be to assign different delay mix levels to snaps when the mix is also controlled by the EXp?
thanks
