  1. Install Monkey and when it opens select your device and then sign in, without Pod USB connected install the latest Drivers. After the Drivers are installed Plug in the Pod USB and the drivers finish installing. This is how I do it.

  2. Like AlexKenivel said, you can use the Aux input. There is a Volume, EQ, Comp, etc. settings for the Aux input. You may need to adjust as needed.

The other alternative is going into the CD/mp3 input. This way has only a volume setting. You'll need a 1/4" to 1/8" cable. I was using the one that came with the "Mobile In", it's a mono cable.

  3. Yes, like phil said, check the input setting. Make sure you've got guitar input correct. Make sure if a pedal is assigned it's set correctly. Check the volume levels of the mixer. Try starting out with a blank patch with the correct input settings.

  4. I had less than 4 hours of play time X.X. the amount was soooooo beautiful sounding though so sad to see it die. The Mesa rectoverb is kinda pointless though since I already love the DT. But at the same time I can go 2 weeks on no guitar amp; my 4 watt vox can't play with a 40 man jazz band and a drummer x.x here's hoping they get a new one or fix mine, quickly! I'd hate to spend almost $600 more on an amp (not really really sure it's even worth the $1250 they charge)

4 hours of heaven :) Not being sarcastic, I hope you get another real soon.

40 man Jazz band, Whoa Man! Sound neat.

  5. No, because when I turned it on this morning and went from standby to on, it popped, and now the channel area won't light up, Pentode and triode are off, and it shut off and back on. Called sweetwater, their amp technician said it sounds like a blown tube and transformer issue if it's power cycling like that x.x I can get channel IV to work on setting B, but A and 1-3 won't come on and It shuts off every now and then (consistently ever 10-20 minutes). They said it'll be 2 weeks before they get another amp in stock and asked if I just wanted the Mesa instead (extra $500 of course). Told their tech I'll hold out for another DT25 if I don't have another gig come up this week because I freaking love this amp

That was kind of quick. How much time do you think you have on it?

Was nice of them to give you the Mesa option.

The DT's sure do sound Great though don't they?

  6. ah ah :D ah.. probably you have turned your POD encoders less than 15,000 times!!..

and in my case I strongly suspect that summing the encoders turns made by the previous owner and the ones made by me until now, the limit of 15,000 has already been passed by some time, since I do always patch building directly on the device..

but from now on I will strive to use the editor

personally I'm still using a P4 notebook (desktop replacement type) bought in 2005-06, but at some point I had to change the internal hard disk and the CD/DVD burner, also periodically I did and still do the internal maintenance by removing the dust accumulated in the cooling system and lubricating the shaft of the two fans so that they remain silent when they start spinning fast..

I upgraded also the ram, and the notebook still works good for everything you do typically on a PC, DAW recordings with active plugins included..

in the meantime my partner changed notebook 3 times.. I'm still running on XP, she passed instead from XP to Vista, to Win 8 and tried Win 10..

often I help her for the things she find complex.. so I gatered some experience also with Win OPs beyond XP...

to be honest I hate them all!!.. except maybe Win 7

Glad to hear your getting some good life out your computers. I still have one from 2007 or so HP desktop with Win 7. Still fine for what I do and I take care of it by keeping it clean inside by every couple years removing the side panel and sucking out the dust and checking various connections. That's about it. Oh, I recently found that GWX Control Panel is a great tool for preventing the free install of Windows 10. It was free and worked great on 3 computers so far.

    GWX Control Panel<>Ultimate Outsider

  7. of course I can, it's my pleasure..

here are the patches attachicon.gifHD (simil Helix) in the Studio demo series patches.zip I used for the "HD in the Studio" (simil Helix) audio demo series posted time ago in SoundCloud..

to see some descriptions about which guitar models and pickups I used with each specific patch click on the title of the corresponding track in SoundCloud..

This days I'm without my old HD500, I brought it to an authorized service center for an estimate of the repair cost ..

already some time ago I started having problems with the encoder n.4 below the display, then the same thing happened with the encoder n.2 .. so I decided to try replacing both of them by myself..

I collected their specs, ie 24 step encoders with 25mm long shaft and 6mm diameter, and I ordered 5 of them here: http://it.rs-online.com/web/p/encoder-meccanici-rotativi/7295804/

so after disassembling the POD I desoldered the bad encoders (proper desoldering for a inexperienced tech like me is definitely the most difficult part of the work, also because I don't have professional tools)..

the good news?.... encoder n.4 works wonder!!

the very bad news???... encoder n.2 (new) doesn't work at all, the old one was working at least a little... but the worst part is that suddenly also the encoder n.1 and the preset/setlist encoder don't work anymore, which were working very good before my crazy attempt to do technician work.. maybe I have burned something on the main board or caused a short circuit.. however luckily the POD still works..

so as you can imagine I'm a bit angry with myself..

now while waiting for the verdict, I dusted off my POD Farm 2 fully loaded (X3 modeling technology) which I didn't use for a long time, and I re-discovered some sounds not bad at all, like with the Cali Crunch, I turned down the cab ER to about 15%, I changed mic and put a 67 condenser, drive around 60-65%, using a bridge P90 or humbucker..

and the result?.. a fat nice boogie saturated blues tone, not as dynamically responsive as with the HD but surely a very nice and usable timbre.. ah ah.. useless to say that for playing also Santana tunes works very good

Also sorry to hear your HD Pod isn't doing so well. Glad you found something useful out of the older tech. I still use my X3 Pro. My HD500 is still functional but I may not have used it as much as you have yours.

I gave my UX2 to someone a while ago and I think that's still going strong. The problem I see on my end is that my computers aren't lasting as long as my Line 6 devices.

  8. ah ah :D ah..

I will reply to your statement above using the same words of Cheyenne (Sean Penn) in "This Must Be the Place" movie:

"That's not true but it's kind of you to say."

  9. Hello.

I have an iPad Air and I want to connect it with my DT25.

DT Customizer seems to be the best solution for me but impossible to download it via iTunes Store or App Store.

How could I find it ?

    Is it discontinued ?

    Thanks to any help.

I know it's old, lol, but you never know if someone reading it. :)

In case someone needs the DTCutomizerToGo App here's a link >> DTCustomizerToGo 2.1

I was using with my iPhone 4s and Original iPad.

  10. Hey,

just bought the amp today, was playing and everything was fine.

came bace a few minutes later and it told me 'Corrupted Firmware Incorrect Ecc'.

How can I fix it, and why did it happen?

    thank you!

    Hi,

DId you get it working? Did you check out the knowledge base FAQ's about the Spider Jam?

    Spider Jam Knowledge base

You may need to reinstall the firmware or update the firmware.

  11. I originally got my 500X to make my live stuff easier to deal with. The band I was in did a lot of songs that would use multiple guitars, effects and complete soundscape changes in a single song. My arthritis has gotten so bad that live playing is not in my future anymore. I decided to set up my home studio and do some recording so I hooked up my 500X just to see how it works as a recording device. WOW!! I am impressed. I think it will be an even more useful tool for me as a recording interface. Just for fun, I wanted to get a Return To Forever vibe going for a song and by the time I was done tweaking, I had a useful Al DiMeola sound on my left and a unison Stanley Clarke sound on my right. What fun.

Yeah Man! I'm with you. It took me a while to get the hang of making patches since I never had experience when I started but once I got it whenever I pull out the HD500 I'm having some fun. I still use my X3 Pro too.

Yesterday I pulled out my Spider Jam, cranked the master volume and tuned in some patches using my Epiphone Special II tuned to Open G and went at it. I'm really impressed with how it sounds even still. So I played hard for about an hour until I smelled something akin to a hair dryer when it heats up and gave it a rest, lol. Maybe some dust inside was burning off the chip or something. I don't know but it sure does sound good clean, crunchy or insane. :)

  12. I went to the knowledge base for Mobile In and read up on the FAQ's.

I deleted the app on the iPhone and then plugged in the Mobile In. Then got the message to install the App. After it installed it unlocked the content. It works good now.

I played around with for a about 45 minutes and the battery was depleted but it wasn't fully charged and I know it was better than 75%. So far I like the tones.

  13. Will I be able to continue to use my Mobile In with my iPhone 4s? It worked at one time but now it says is incompatable or something like that. What gives?

I had the Mobile In plugged in and opened up Mobile Pod and a message pops up about buying the app and or restoring a purchase? Do I need to "Retsore a Purchase"? Since it was working.

I suppose things have changed while my "Mobile In" was taking a break. I suppose the updated IOS was the cause of most of it.

  14. I have a DT50 & Pod HD500 over L6 link with AES cable.

Last night I had a live gig and in the second set, in a middle of a song, the DT50 suddenly stops working!

In some kind of panic I switch over directly to my DT-amp, to ensure that my HD500 was ok and try to find the problem. The DT50 was no sounding at all, but the power lamp was lightning. I tried both channels (A & B) with no success. I turn it off and on and nothing helps me.

To save the situation, I had to plug in my HD500 direct to the PA. Unfortunately I had'nt any Patches for that, so the sound was terrable with low volume because I use Pre-amp patches.

The day after I check out my DT50 to find the problem, but the Amp was working and sounding!

I check the fuses to be shure and they were ok.

My question is, anyone else who had this problem and can it be so, that the amp stops working if it's too hot? I have the master volume on max and set the output with the lokal volume.

I had a very similar problem with my DT50HD and shortly after this issue it didn't work at all and had to send it in to Line 6 for warranty work. You may want to do a support ticket with them. Either call them or do it online from your Line 6 account. Don't be afraid to call them. I had to talk to them several times. They were cool. But when the amp stops working there is no joy.

You should try to work on some PA patches pronto so your prepared for plan B.

  15. Hello, i recently buy a pair of studio monitors with the idea of connect them directly to the POD HD 500.

But I'm not sure about using the pod as interface, because: "how i'm going to know if my monitors are clipping?" I mean... non of this have an indicator... so, maybe i connect the monitors and they will broke.

How can i use the POD without buying an interface?

I just use my ears. I've been using the fx return on a DT50HD/Cab. Haven't used powered monitors but I don't think you can over power them with the Pod. It'll propbably just sound like the garbage if your settings aren't good.

  16. I've been using the fx loop too. It only works on one path at a time so I use the same settings on tone 2 for the fx loop and different settings for the guitar on tone 1. Then I just copy that to the next channel. For example 1A to 1B then adjust tone one (guitar) as needed. So when I switch channels my drum machine (fx loop, tone 2) stats the same. Works ok for me.

If there's a way to make the fx loop work on both channels at the same time I don't know about it.

  17. When I play it regardless the guitar plugin I use (Amplitube, Revalver etc) I have this noise that is heard on low volume passages and I have a noise gate effect (even with noise gate effect totally off) and the sound cuts off if there is no playing. Normally there would be some hum/buzz, instead here it gets cut. When I play low leve passages I hear that problem in the noise.

Here is a clip I made to demonstrate the problem.

I am using an HP i5 laptop that I have used in the past with many other interfaces without a problem. Also I have windows 10. I tried ASIO4ALL and still...

    https://soundcloud.com/pureanalog-1/ux2-sound

When I listen to tracks being played back (recorded with other interfaces) everything is fine.

    Thank you

Sometimes noise is picked up through the power supply or other things like nearby lights, fans, TV's, the lap tops monitor, cell phones, etc. Try unplugging the laptops power supply and see if there's an improvement.

  18. Try changing your soundcard sample rate to: dvd quality ~ 16 bit and 48000 mhz. You may have to uninstall/reinstall the driver's too.

I don't have Win10 but it worked for some other peeps.

Just to be a squeaky wheel...Windows 10 support would be appreciated. Maybe my pod xts guitar & bass is too old and need to be ditched....hope not. Looking for other options....

What BillBee said. I'm still using my X3 Pro, just used it today. I have 2 PC's, 1 with Win 7 and one with Win 10. Both work fine for me. I don't use Gearbox much since I use the X3's interface to tune things in and record with RiffWorks.
