Oh Brazz I feel for ya! I have herniated discs 3 times and momma-mia you are correct the pain is a new level and you never forget it. Not being able to walk, sit, lay down (or enjoy a #2 ;) ) blows.
You ain't sh!ttin' LOL My spinal cord was also affected as number one was an issue as well.

OMG man, what happened and you had to pass this surgery?
I was moving many tons of weight manually every day sometimes every other day for 4 years straight (no vacations) after having all jobs in the 16 yrs. before which were arduous. Resulted in a bulging herniated disc that frayed into a nerve path which was already compromised with arthritis. Which resulted in an acute sprain of one of the main lateral muscles that run along the spine. Which then caused more damage to more nerves and paralyzed me and was so painful water streamed out of my eye sockets for about 4 feet and puddled up on the floor in front of me as I fell into a white out, lol. It was so bad I never fully recovered and am still in pain all the time. After dealing with it and the pain for years now I'm a different person. No one can upset me at all, I never get angry or mad any more, lol, If someone tries to make me angry they usually end up angrier than I simply because I don't play into it, lol.
Cool stuff Ari! It would be cool to see/hear what happens to the sound when a hot chick walks in. :)
Hahahahhahaa Good one!

Ok thanks. Will dive into that.
I assume I can look at each patch and get those parameters matched as close as possible through all patches?
Try one at a time to see what gives so you don't get too lost.
Don't forget theirs a volume pedal and boost comp in there too. I'm not expert on leveling patches but I make do. The more you use the HD500 the better you'll get with building patches on the fly. I don't even bother saving patches anymore other than to upload them to custometone or to send them to a friend so they check it out.

This topic is the closest I found to my problem and sorry if its hijacking but I am staying on topic................ When I change patches some of my patches are blaring and I have to turn it down on the amp itself. I saw a post above that mentioned having to even the volumes out between patches.............how do you do this? POD HD 500.........when your jamming along to a track it sux to have to change the volume right in the middle.
Thanks
You might try using a combo of the mixer, amp volume, studio eq and using the guitar volume knob. The studio eq alone can boost or cut. If I use the studio eq I put at the end of the chain.

Very cool stuff indeed! Thanks for sharing that Aris!
Doctors used something like that on my forhead while they operated on my spine and nerve canals. I guess,.... so they could watch my brain activity while they cut the authritic bone and splintered disc away thereby relieving the pressure on my nerves. I'm not totally sure about this since I'm not a doctor but it makes sense to me, lol.

Dang, Behind the 8 Ball again. LOL Doesn't matter much to me anyway, I'll still use them. :)

Maybe I will.
LOL

Anyone else have this happen? I never really used the little mono cable that came with the EX-1 Pedal I got. So I used it yesterday to make my first spoken, off the cuff, little musical thing and when I tried plugging it in, the plastic that covers the cable end just shattered into tiny little pieces, lol. Then I did the other end and the same thing happened to that.one hahahaha.
Then I got the other one out (I have 2 EX-1's) and that cable was exactly the same way, lol. I couldn't believe the plastic molded around the jack was so thin and brittle. I should've took a picture of the tiny little pieces it became just by the slight pressure it takes to plug it in the jack.

from one opposite to the other :D

"Onnnnnnnne is the Lonliest number that I ever seeeeeeeeeen" lol. That's cool hahaha
I always said all you need is one string. Just pick and bend the sh!t out of it, lol.

Ha! You beat me to it. That's the best part about this story. 30 years hence, eggs are no longer the enemy. Seems that high-cholesterol foods have a negligible impact on one's serum cholesterol level. It's the carbs and refined sugars that are turning us all into fat diabetics. Oops. Today's "expert" is tomorrow's village idiot...
You said a mouthful there! hahaha Only special people know this, Sssshhhhhhh hahaha

Charles in Charge was amusing I admit. :)
Ole Scott Biao really soared after "Joanie Loves Chachi".
Bwhahahaha!!
\m/
What about "Chico and the Man" ????? hahahahah

Not exactly state-of-the-art anymore, nor 'all that power', but still.....
Cool, I have Mobile In and can get some pretty good sounds out it but I can't figure out how to control the volume pedals, wah's and other parameters, lol.

The PODHD can run perfectly well into a guitar amp and cab or FRFR. I'm glad Line6 gave us the choice. Each method has it's merits. I still plug my PODHD into a tube guitar amp and cab because right now that sounds better. But as soon as I get my FRFR system sounding the same the tube amp is history. I'm tired of lugging around all that bulk and weight.
Wouldn't be great if you had all that power in something that fits comfortably in your pocket and all you need to carry is your guitar, lol. Someone's gotta be using something like that.

Damn those VanPattons!!!!
BTW not to derail the convo but "eggs are ok again" right? :P

Hahahah. I never thought they were bad for me, :)
When I watched this show - even though at the time I told myself I don't watch this show, damnit! - I always had to laugh at Tommy Bradford. And later when he was in Charles in Charge. :D
LOL! I only watched it 'cause my parents watched it.

At least I'm not the only old man in here, lol ;)
Hey wait a minute, lol, I watched 8 is enough too. I specifically remember the time his cholesterol was up and the ol' man was at the table getting ready to eat sunny side up eggs and his daughter took 'em away from him, hahahahahah

There is something to be said for tonal overlap. 7-8 string guitars, baritones et al have a place. Who knows how it will evolve. Google 10 string bass guitars, then 12 etc.. it does look like there is a string war.
Oh yes I've seen them before. I've got a Ibanez RG7 and a Schecter Omen 8. They sound great but I think I've got enough strings now, lol.

I think the bigger issue is --- who needs 8 strings on a bass?
Yeah, I think it's just a status thing. The one who buys it can say "Look what I got" lol

YOU CAN USE THE 6CA7 TUBES IN A DT50 I AM USING 2 MESA 12AX7 TUBES AND 2 JJ 6CA7 TUBES AND IS RUNNING FINE
They're working for you? Have you been using them for a long time? Thanks for the reply. I can't believe you found this thread man. Did you search for it or just stumble on it.
Have a Great Day.

Hopefully Line 6 works on it and refines it more. It's an awesome platform of an amp. Man the thing sounds amazing in all areas of sound.
I like to think DT stands for "Dynamic Tone". It might burn out but it won't fade away anytime soon, lol. I'm not interested in the L6 Link part of it' cause since I got it back from Line 6 the last time it hasn't worked, lol. Maybe it's me, I'm not sure about that but the rest of it works now and I love the way it sounds. I just go into the return anyway and use the preamp as a separate channel for another guitar.

I set up using headphones from the pod this way I hear what I'm recording. Good tips from the 2 before me.

Not familiar with the smashing bit you're referencing, but I can imagine him proceeding to use some of the more destructive types of woodworking tools...
Maybe I didn't use the right words, lol.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...
So true! try pulling Pete Townsend's guitar smashing bit with that beast. I always look for the lighter guitars, lol.

H0Iey $chit! LOL

But that means you're recording a Stereo mix of ( say ) the iTunes track mixed with the guitar feed - on the Helix ( or Pod ) itself, whereas I want my guitar to go to a separate track in Ableton and the iTunes Stereo track to go to another track in Ableton and be able to change mix levels after recording. I'm afraid its not quit what i'm after but thanks for the suggestion :)
Actually I would like to find out how to do that too :).

Thanks! Now I understand why years ago the elders that were around me would say things "Old men don't fight, they just shoot" lol.
