  1. Cool! but what are they?

    "Various bug fixes and improvements"

Guessing its no new 'features' worth mentioning. Is there anywhere in Line 6 support where it talks specifics about what bugs or optimizations were done?

  2. What happens in this scenario

Lets say in a bank I have 4 presets:

    1. Clean

    2. Crunch

    3. Lead

    4. Speciality Lead/FX

I am playing live with my band. Because we are human or the drummer is a doofus we are playing faster (or slower than normal). At the beginning of the song I have a clean sound with some delay, so I tap tempo on the firehawk switch to get in sync.

But...what about the other 3 presets (2,3 and 4) I want those presets to have the same tap tempo as what I just tapped for the intro/first preset so that when it comes time to hit on the lead patch, the tap tempo is the same.

From what I gather this is not possible?

As an aside...how does tap tempo work if the line 6 switches are on release? I find you have to be more 'tappy' with your foot to try to get it in time?

  3. Dumb question about the FX Loop block when working with patches....

Is this for the actual physical FX Loop on the device itself (for external pedals, etc) or can it be used as a digital representation of an FX loop in a simulated chain - ie - you want your mods and delays in your patch to be in the amps FX Loop, so you put the FX Loop after the amp? Does that make sense?

Or ...with the way the patch chain works, as long as your delay/mod blocks are AFTER the amp block in a preset, then its acting as being in the 'fx loop' so to speak...

  4. I just bought into the Firehawk FX line this past weekend and I love it.

Unfortunately, I feel like Line 6 is prob done with dev. of this product as well. So long since the last update. Look at the Helix getting updates on the regular.

  5. Can anyone else chime in on this? I am trying to determine how the guitar volume slider relates into standard live playing with the amp? It definitely does something beyond balancing guitar and mp3 playback during jamming.....

Should I increase this to 100 percent while playing live to get the most headroom or signal?

  6. I understand this guitar volume slider affects the balance when jamming with BT Mp3's and whatnot, but it also appears to affect the headroom of the guitar when just playing normally. Where would you set this if you were just playing live with a band and the firehawk FX was your main unit? In that case would you set it to 100?

  7. I just got my firehawk fx and I am sort of having issues with this. I am using the tweed man in a 'tom petty' patch and the amp volume without a stomp pedal seems SO LOW. Even with the volume maxed on the amp channel. Given that this is the lowest volume one I have, I need to go through the rest of my presets and bring them all way down to suit.

  8. Besides the lack of color customization with the FBV3...what else is 'challenging' or 'wrong' with it?

I saw one poster say the Tuner on it was absolutely terrible.

I also read that patch switching was slow?

I also read that FX/patches don't enable until switch release (instead of press)....

Is anyone happy with this thing? The reason I ask is because I just ordered one and I think I'm already regretting it. I am in the situation where I might just order the firehawk FX instead because its the amplifi 'brain' plus proper switching, etc. for way less money than the Amplifi and FBV3 together.

  9. Just purchased an Amplifi 75 over this past weekend and its my first time diving into this system. To make a long story short - I totally dig the system and I am now looking at my options. This led me into the path of buying the new FBV MK3 floorboard to control my amp and patches....however....

that got me into thinking I could buy the Firehawk FX (which is everything the amplifi is, and the FBV3) but does NOT have the speaker. I am a Dad / busy / hobbyist guitarist and I like the idea of having the amplifi in my office to get me jamming out a few minutes each day. The Firehawk gets me more 'things' per se - the floor board control, the HD amp models, all the iOS control, etc. but just no speaker. I would be basically removing the live speaker element out of the equation and likely only ever playing with headphones.

I paid $549 for the amplifi. The Firehawk FX is $599.

If I purchase the FBV3 to go with my amplifi that is $549 + $349 = a hell of a lot more than the Firehawk current....again, with no speaker or sound.

    What would you do?

  11. Even though the color's do not work on the FBV 3 when using the Amplifi line, can you at least (using the iOS app for Amplifi) put all OD's on Switch1, all Mod's on Switch 2, Delay on Switch 3 (so on and so forth) for each patch so there is at least some consistency even with the lack of color coordination?

  12. I just picked this Amplifi 75 up at my local Long McQuade here in Canada. I took it home, plugged it in and was noodling' within minutes (after creating my line 6 account).

I gotta say, I understand the 'hate' this thing gets from the real gigging guitar player, but there is a major demographic of people that this thing appeals to and I would consider myself at the top of this heap. Consider this:

Been playing guitar since I was 15 (I am now 35). I have gone through the years of learning, playing in bands, dropping guitar for a while, coming back to it, playing in more bands - breaking up with those bands, getting married, having kids, etc. etc. Guitar has come and gone in my life a few times now and I am sort of getting this new wave of playing. I am settled and have a great family life; with that comes responsibility and jobs, blah blah blah - you know the drill.

I have the Amplifi 75 in my office next to my computer desk with two guitars right in front. I can now easily pick one up, load up a tone replica and just GO! I am not after the holy grail of tone - for the 20-30 mins a day I might get playing, I want a solid and easy approximation of a fender clean, or a Dave Gilmour lead tone, etc. This amp gives me that really in an instant - I can even take those presets, do a quick modification and it sounds better for my room, guitars, etc.

I would say this thing inspires me to play more than any recent gear that I have bought. I could go downstairs to where my drums/setup are and plug in all my pedalboards, amps, etc. and blow my family through the ceiling with my Marshall DSL but no one wants that. Every once in a while I do that, and its fun, but the amplifi gets me playing more often; practising more often and basically just having more fun day to day.

*I do have a fender mustang IV and while the amp is nice, the lack of support of the software from Fender and the general poor UI of the preset management makes the Amplifi software on my iPad/iPhone look really really great in comparison*

    Thanks so much Line 6!
