this is very cool to have makes for a great backup for modeler like boss katana.Gonna save up and grab the 212

helix was shutting off but its coming back next week not a bad turnaraound.Im looking forward to update.I have the hx effects so I got alot of the update features and I have to say that dynamic plate reverb is freaking what ive wanted.its imo didnt need tweaking for me it was the just amount of reverb ive been looking for its just sounds good as soon as I used it.The whole update is great thanks again line 6!!!!

I have a Pod go and I bought a headrush mx5 before the price went up to 499. I wish the POd go had more process power not sure if its because headrush less amp, effects but I like how it doesnt have set effects and I an use alot slots and not run out of dsp.I played with the headrush and no pc editor makes it a pain to edit,the pod go is easier to dial in great amps and effects,except those dedicated slots and run out of dsp isnt great.A mixture of both units would make for a great unit,just my 2 cents.

I made a ticket just asking helix lt goes on about 3 5 mins later screen goes off and exp 1 2 pedal flash nothing on screen no sound

yep that is what happened to me about an hour ago,bsod interrupted update.The helix edit is easy and great but my freaking computer screwed it up so yes the old line 6 updater worked thank God.After update then helix edit recognized helix its all good now yaaay.

I was considering a Duncan PowerStage 170, but the Katana is $50 less.   I am wondering if the PowerStage sounds any better?   Certainly there is a difference in form factor also, but it's just crazy how cheap the Katana line is.   Okay, I really don't care for the Katana sound myself, but the head makes a reasonable power amp, and if ever needed, could use some of the other features.

I bought the Seymore duncan because you can still use the 3band eq on it,on the katana you can only use the power amp, everything else is cut off except for vol.

I use a Seymore duncan power stage 170 works fine with my 212 blackstar cabs in stomp used and it sounds fine.

Anyway possible to put a couple of amp sims into hx effects like the iridium just 3 amps like they have to cover all genres for a backup or quick gig scenario?Clean fender Marshal and a revv would be cool.

I love saving effects and the save my amp setting. The extra blocks is great it leaves alot of options if you run out of dsp then just buy a helix floor. it covers (imo) everything you would need to get a great sound. Thanks for the new update Much appreciated!!! Now im off to play with new amps and effects.

thank you guys I tried what I read on here and it sweetened the sound I had.

The Variax/Firehawk combo is a pretty decent one, but the Helix is obviously much more capable, and the reamping/dual amping, better effects (esp distortions), and snapshots are things you want and would make for better recordings (in a virtual cover band) and live ensemble performances. If you sold the Firehawk to defray the cost of the LT, you'd end up about $800 out of pocket.

I purchased the OwnHammer 412 RECT today and I am really happy with them.I didnt think it would make a big difference because you can only hear so much on you tube but now I can see why people like them.To the guys who can make the stock cabs sound just as good I tip my hat(if I was wearing one) to you because that is awesome if you can do that.Maybe when or if I get an helix lt again Ill try it.Im using a stomp now with hx effects so I think im good for now. Ihave a headrush 112 on a stand and the bass is not overwhelming whne I had it on the floor yes more bass,but i liked it.ANyway but on a pole should be fine.I rahter have a 212 cab frfr if I could but for now Im using this and waiting to get a power stage 170 again so I can use my black star cabinet.I like that the best it sounded pretty good with helix speakers and with out.

I have one and it sounds pretty good.You can only use the master volume once you connect into the power amp part of the katana it disables all of the controls except master volume.I like the boss because its a really good amp also and it would make a great backup.

it did sell quick.I hope they enjoy it I left some nice presets on it.

Well I was sad that I had to sell my helix and I missed it so much.I bought a Boss katana to hold me over and it is a great amp but its not the same so I just put my extra money down On a hx stomp from Zzsounds and Im paying it off monthly payments.Im so glad I got some sort of helix I really love and miss it.I still get the same type of amps and effects etc so Im happy,but to my surprise plugging in My Stomp into the Power amp in on the katana sounds freaking great.If anyone is looking for a power amp to use with the helix I suggest trying this,not only it sounds great but it makes a great backup amp.

Ive used a headrush 112,a powerstage 170 with a blackstar 212 cab and now Im trying a katana mkii 50 112 speaker and imo I like the guitar cabs with the duncan or the katana better.The headrush is good I just like the guitar cabs a little better.I dont follow the you should use and amp cab with a non frfr speaker,I use amp sim and it sill sounds good.
