As I wrote in another thread: Works fine here with El Capitan (Amplifi 150 with latest firmware, OS X 10.11.4, MBP 13 Mid 2014).
Yes...I got it to work fine on a friend's computer with El Capitan.....apparently it is just my computer! Some weird conflict that is unsolvable by Apple. I'm SOL!

Funny. My Amplifi is the exact opposite! Each I turn it on the default volume is way too low!

Similar issue:
I just went through a lengthy chat on line with Apple Support to find out why my Mac with El Capitan (10.11.4) cannot find or see my Amplifi 75 via USB. They went directly to Line 6's tech info and quoted a paragraph stating that only Mac OS up to Yosemite (10.10) is supported!! This is after about 4 or 5 tickets to Line 6 asking for the same help. No one from Line 6 could actually tell me straight out that El Capitan is not supported for recording via USB!! If this is not the case, I need to find out if any of you have had the same problem or can deny that this problem exists because you are using El Capitan on a Mac connected to your amp via USB! If this problem is real, when will Line 6 admit it and release an update so newer computers can see the amp! [bTW: I am running the latest firmware and app on the Line 6 side and I tested the connection on an older Mac computer running System 10.8 which worked perfectly fine!]
Any suggestions? Thx!

Hi. The answer is "no" to both q's. I'll have to take the amp to a Mac repair guy. If it works fine on their test computers than I guess the problem is my Mac. Likewise if their Macs can't see the Amplifi via USB than its on to Line 6 for a repair or replace!! Thx.I'm not a Mac guy, at least not yet, thinking of trying a Mac this year depending on the funds.
Is there another computer you could try it on to rule out the AMPLIFi being the issue?
Do you have other audio interfaces that your DAW is seeing without issues?

Hi TriUnfortunately the option is not currently available with the AMPLIFi series.
You seem to know a lot about this product. Any clue as to why my Mac with El Capitan OS cannot seem to see the amp? I have the latest updates on the firmware and app. All other features including BT work fine. Is there a simple test that I can try? Thx!

Update 2.1 allowed usb to PC/Mac works well enough for GarageBand
Hi Klonny...I've got the latest firmware on the Amplifi and I'm using a Mac with El Capitan OS, but the Mac does not see the amp. I've tried several different usb cables and all the various usb ports on the Mac and still nothing. Is there a simple test I can run to see if the problem is with the computer or the Amplifi? Thanks.
p.s.all the usb ports work fine with other devices like printers and such.

I'm using El Capitan it's the newest OS they make! I've tried 2 cables, both work fine on other devices and I've tried connecting to 3 different USB ports on the computer itself! Nothing. Line 6 asked the same questions but no real solution!I'm not sure but it could be the version of MacOS you are using. It has to be MacOSX 10.7 or above.

What version firmware is on the AMPLIFi
Hi It says the Flash is 2.50.2

The problem is my Mac does not recognize any new audio interface when I hook up the Amplifi. So what should I do?You have to download the driver for Windows. Mac doesn't need a driver. When you connect the Amplifi to your computer the Amplifi becomes your audio interface. You can hear whatever is playing back from your DAW as well as the input from the guitar.

It should not interfere with your Steinberg UR22’s drivers, however, with ASIO you can only use one device at a time.
Not sure which firmware they are shipping with, but if it is not current you just need to update it.
Best would be to check the return policy just in case you aren’t happy with the AMPLIFi.
Hi. I cannot get my Mac to recognize my amplifi 75. I'd like to play around with some tracks, specifically in Garage Band. Many posts and on line videos state that you just hook up the amp to your computer using usb, which I did and the Mac and Garage Band automatically sees there is a device. But it is only reading the sound from the internal mic. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Gkf9. There are several clean tones built into the Amplifi factory presets. I start with those. I'll try to upload some of my stuff to the Cloud later or early next week when I have time. Thanks!

As long as we're on this topic. What are people using and liking for DAW audio powered speakers to listen to their mixes, etc. something that can direct to computer or use an Apogee type of set up. I'm in the market to improve my audio interface and also have something FRFR to use with Amplifi when I want it. Thx.The USB is for direct recording over USB to your DAW.

Great thanks I'll certainly give your recommendations ago.
Another suggestion came to me: I like to develop tones on my own organically. So, I work like I would the old school way. That is If you had a tube amp and some pedals to stomp on. First I work with a totally clean amp sound. Then I copy it and save it with a new name. Then I add those mods, or delays to taste. Then I save again. So I'm working with that nice clean tone and adding a stomp or other effect to it, then each time saving with a slightly new name. Examples:
Clean
SuperClean
Clean Crunch
Crunch Flange
Crunch Trem
Crunch Chorus
Crunch DL
Crunch DDL
SuperClean DL
Etc.

Can you give me any good pointers or examples for tweaking some of the factory presets to get a better tone?
I've had my Amplifi 75 a good couple of weeks now, but I wouldn't know where to start to get better tones.
For example the American Clean tone sounds a little dirty to me.
I'm still learning guitar but I don't want to get bogged down spending my limited time messing about with the amp when I'm not sure what I'm doing.
I too love this Amp,and have got 1 or 2 user downloaded tones to match some songs very close.
I'm thinking of buying the FBV 3 advanced foot controller once it's released.
I strongly recommend going for the cleanest time possible before playing around with settings. The factory presets include several good clean tones. I especially like the Acoustic Rhythm and Fingerstyle presets. But there are others. When you want to tweak, look at the amp, cab settings. Some are better than others. I tend to go for the Fender amps and cabs, but play around with that to suit your taste. I then look at the EQ settings and try to balance hi's and lo frequencies to match the amp better. Also look at the "Comp. " is it in or off. This can give you added depth. I usually turn off or reduce the delay and reverb mix. They are set way too high on most of those presets. Have fun!

I've owned the 75 for about a month and have had zero connection issues with iPhone or iPad. Many of the factory presets were worthless to me. About a third were great once I tweaked a bit. The amazing discovery that totally changed my opinion of it was using a stereo Jack out of the headphone out to my computers audio speaker set up. I took that cable out of the computer and used a stereo 1/4 in. Adapter into the Amplifi. Wow! The sound and tones were 1000% improved! We're not talking recording studio quality but drastically improved! I'm going to invest in a Yamaha HS5 or 7! I have banks 1-14 totally filled with good usable preset tones! Having a ball with this thing. Got it brand new on Reverb.com for $280!!

I think the solution is you should have purchased the Firehawk FX or Firehawk 1500. These have incredible output choices and will do all of the above without any 3rd party mods and more!! Just sayin'Any update for this subject ? Is there a solution existing today?

I see your point and you probably should stick with the Mustang III. Very nice amp for the price. I only use the Amplifi to practice at home and jam with my playlist. Not for gigging!

Not sure what you mean by "Third Party Ap?" The Ap is a free download and it is a proprietary line 6 software companion to the amp series. It is nearly identical to the Firehawk software. I've used both and currently own the Amplifi 75. Also remember that 100 Watts of digital power is probably equivalent to 15 watts in a real tube amp. Another really nice digital solution is the Spyder series of modeling amps, esp the Spyder IV. They all work with the FBV foot pedal or short boards. I owned the Spyder IV 120W that thing could easily blast out a medium size conference hall!! You can get one used for $300!

Is your android device paired to the amp?

The Amplifi is cool but you are going to be pleasantly surprised by the HD amps and effects in the Helix! It's like comparing a brand new computer with DOS pre Windows 95! Just sayin!

Have you used Garage Band on a desktop Mac using USB from the Amplifi to the computer? Is this even possible? Will the Mac see the amp and allow you to record direct into Garage Band? The help file for Garage Band references using a microphone in several places instead of a line in connection. Just wonderingHello everyone
Thanks for the video link, I'd seen it a while back and my frustration was that I followed what I thought was the same set up as him yet was getting inconsistent results.
I'm now pleased to say that I have fixed the issue! I am now able to record through my amplify via USB into my iPad using GarageBand and the results are amazing. Sparklingly clear stereo recordings. The problem I was having turned out to be the 'camera connector cable'. I'd bought it off Amazon for about £8 or so... when I replaced it with an official Apple one (£25) it worked.
Here's what you need should you want to do this yourself:
AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to B-Male Cable with Lighted Ends Braided 1.8 m / 6 Feet

I've been looking at the Yamaha HS series for near field studio monitors to attach to my computer to listen to music, playback options and for use with the Amplifi. Thanks!

What about the Amplifi's big brother the Firehawk FX or Firehawk 1500? I had the FH FX for a while before selling it because it would not work with a standard Fender amp as an output device. I would have needed a StageSource or other FRFR type of powered system to get it to work. Really the same issues occur with pod 500, Helix etc. then they came out a month later with the FH 1500! Oh well!I'm interested in a Helix derivative, as it currently has more routing options than I need...but it's at the top of my GAS list. If I could sell gear I'm not using for a reasonable price, I'd get a Helix...I just have too much gear.
I'm interested in a nice quality DAW stereo speaker system I could plug into a computer, play music or to use with the Amplifi. Are you selling anything like that?

This sounds interesting and worth a try. Exactly how do go into the security permissions. I've never done that! Thanks so much!
