oh i thought it has been open quite a while..? i bought something a few weeks back

yes i often go into the aux in of various things.. often if it is a modelling amp it bypasses everything (including vol knobs eq etc) and i even use speaker blocks on my helix..  my experience is mostly with a roland cube and it works fine

i remember someone else posting about this after an update some time ago and it is the 2nd time this has occured to me so i’m just seeing if anyone else has had this happen, or it is pure coincidence..

Within a couple of days of updating my helix floor unit on 2 updates (not consecutive) i have had problems with the jog wheel.. the first time the ‘push down’ function died and now the scroll function has gone too.. so i’m left with having to edit on the computer with edit.. add this to the mic input/preamp dying and a non functioning touch capacitor , now i’m worried what will go next.. i wonder how many others have had problems like this.. I’m well out of warranty and i fear it’s going to be an expensive fix 

in the end i had to go on another machine- windows 10 (mine is win7) to be able to log on and authorise.. not sure the problem but fixed in the short term anyway

i’m very confused now.. i mucked around and got the machine online.. hx edit wanted me to go online to authorise the ir pack but everytime it tried to sign in i got a “cant find server” message.?? even tho my machine was online and i could browse on my browser.. nowhere in the market place did i see mention of needing to authorise too, before or after i made the purchase.. pretty annoying transaction so far :(

i bought some ownhammer player pack ir’s from the market place and transferred them to my offline machine that i use for recording/ helix edit etc but they wont load in to helix edit as it says i have to go online to authorise. is there a way around this.? i’d like to keep this machine off line as i’ve had problems with it online 

maybe put the pitch shift (fully wet)on a drop down path so you can process it separately too

oh i would have thought march 1st ..?? that’s when Autumn began here in the southern hemisphere..

it should work just the same.. flat battery in bass? are you going in the same input? if you use a return you’ll need to load a return block in your chain

just make sure you dont have an input active for signal chain 2 if you are not intending to use it.. it may be passing thru the raw guitar signal

posted this in bugs but thought someone here may have an idea about what is wrong-

i just bought an IR and tried to import but edit is saying all ir slots are empty (the helix is fully loaded with ir’s tho!) and i cant access the import button- it is just greyed out ..helix v2.60

i think i’d use it after in most cases.

maybe try lowering the volume knob on the guitar for cleaner tone too.

just wanted to pitch in.. i’ve had midi guitar on my iphone for quite a few years and it is an amazing bit of software, when paired with thumbjam app for sounds it is a quick easy midi guitar set up

Glenn, i think you could fool many people with that one, probably that fancy picking doesn’t hurt too .. as in a lot of things like this you need to have  the right technique to really help get the sound even if it is a realistic sounding IR.. is that IR available? i have a telecaster just waiting to sound like a banjo ;) haha

one option would be the midi guitar app (i’ve used it on ios) and using it to trigger a banjo sample (thumbjam has one) It wont be perfect but it tracks off your guitar pretty well and is polyphonic 

There are probably a few options for power amp/amplifier head to drive the speaker cab but for most versatility i recommend just replacing the cab with a powered fr/fr speaker, unless it is a very good quality cab that you are very attached too.

lets call it a 'lively' top end.. it certainly isn't brittle or harsh tho.. a bit of that high sizzle ingredient can be very nice in the right dish  ;-)

with the iphone you can plug in via a lightning to usb adapter and then straight into helix via the usb but i'm not sure how that works with android sorry

that's pretty cool.. i think a slightly broken up amp colored with a little bit of drive from an overdrive pedal might get you there.. the extra spank is from the way he attacks the string i think
