  1. I would like to know if there is a remote app that I can use to edit tones on my Spider V 240HC head for windows 10 OS. I used to have an older remote app that worked, however it recently stopped working. I have it for my iphone however it would make more sense to have it on my PC so I can edit tones while I record.

Model List The tone settings list numerous songs can be used to dial sounds in as well. If you would like to return your unit to the original presets, please perform a factory reset (see below). You can read more about Spider V and Android compatibility here. Setup/Connections Q: What are the inputs and outputs on the Spider V? A: Instrument in and headphone out on the front, and all this on the back. Q: Can the Spider V guitar input and the AUX input be used at the same time? Will I hear both of these devices through the headphones? A: Yes, you can use both and you'd hear them both in your headphones. Q: Can I use an FBV controller with the Spider V? A: Yes, the FBV3 and FBV Express/Shortboard MKII are recommended for use with the Spider V. The FBV Mark 1 series may work, but is not supported. Q: Does the Spider V have an effects loop? 3. I am confused after reading the manual for the Spider V 240HC. What I am looking for is a way to power a single 2x12 cab with the head. My cab is a Blackstar HTV212, 160 watts, 8ohms. I was afraid the amp's 240-watt output would overpower the cab. But then I read the manual and thought maybe there's a way. Here's what I read: "Connect your external speaker(s) here. Your speaker cabinet(s) should support at least 100 watts @ 4 Ohms or 50 watts @ 8 Ohms minimum." So does that mean I can connect a single 100 watt @ 4 Ohm cab or a single 50 watt @ 8 Ohm cab to the 240HC? Also the fact that there's a 2x12 version of the Spider V 240. So it makes me think there's got to be a way to power my cab with this head. Now, before people start suggesting a different setup, here's why I am doing this. So feel free to ignore this last part. I have a Blackstar HT Stage 60 2x12 combo amp and I use that to also power the HTV 212 cab so I have basically a half stack for gigs, and a combo for band practice. So I was thinking if I had the Spider V head, I could have a modular system where I use only the head for bedroom practice, the head + one 2x12 cab for band practice (don't want to lug a 4x12 to every practice), and the head + two 2x12s to make a half stack for shows. I wish Line 6 would've thought of this and created a Spider V 2x12 instead of just the 4x12 cab.
  4. I just got into the cubase program that came with my spider v 240hc, it works great and I have the drivers set up and installed correctly so I can record and playback with no issues. I am curious if there is a way to set up output to another device though because I dont like having to plug my mic into the phones jack on the amp, like I shuold be able to monitor form my mic out, or from my pc headphone jack. Is there a way to configure the spider v driver in cubase as input only, with another device (yeti mic) set for the output? Also can you configure multiple devices for input so I can have my mic and amp inputting adio simultanously? This might be a question for steinberg cubase forums but sine the programs is included with the amps I thought maybe someone here might have some info.
  5. NOTE: We have discovered that the Cabinet Modeling switch is producing unintended results. We have fixed this in firmware 1.04, available very soon. Please download and use Line 6 Updater, found at www.Line6.com/software, to update your amp. See this article for updating instructions: How To Update the Spider V Amp The Cabinet Modeling switch was added so that if you don't want to run your guitar signal in full range with cabinet modeling, you can disable it for just the external speaker outputs. A good example for when to use this is if you have your own particular cabinet and you want to hear the natural sound of that cabinet with no cabinet modeling applied (like a traditional amp head). You can still use the direct outputs if need be in a live situation (common for our older amp products like DT50). With no external cabinet: The switch has no function. Cabinet modeling remains engaged regardless of the switch position. With an external cabinet plugged into the speaker outputs: The switch toggles cabinet modeling for the guitar signal that's sent to the speaker outputs. Switch is ON - Spider V treats the external cabinet and built-in tweeters as a full range system for guitar signals, with cabinet modeling applied in the preset. It also allows full range playback for built-in drum loops, the aux input, and USB playback. Switch is OFF - Spider V disables the cabinet block within the preset and sends the processed mono or stereo guitar signal to only the external speaker outputs. Its built-in speakers are turned off. The XLR, USB and Headphone outputs are fed with a guitar signal that is summed to mono and processed with a Spider 4x12 cabinet and SM 57 microphone model. These outputs can be used for recording or as a feed for a mixing board when playing live. Additional Information - The built-in 4" low-frequency speakers in the head switch off as soon as an external cabinet is connected. - All playback such as drum loops, the aux input and USB playback will continue to play through both the external cabinet and the built-in tweeters, regardless of the switch position.
