  1. Hello! I want to use HX Stomp XL as audio interface. My problem is that simple audio playback and recording are as noisy as changing frequencies between radio stations. The sound is unrecognisable. Sound file attached. Of course, I installed HX Edit and the firmware, everything is the latest version. The pedal works perfectly with the bass, I can also work properly in HX Edit. I did reset Stomp to factory settings. The problem persists. There are no special settings in the Audio MIDI setup. 48000khz and Steam 1. (image attached below) I also checked the cables. Attached the Ableton settings image below. Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 was previously installed on the Macbook, which works flawlessly (and all other audio interfaces too). Could this be interfering with Stomp? OS and software versions: - macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 - HX Stomp XL Firmware 3.71.0 - HX Edit 3.70 - Line 6 Helix Driver2 Version 1.5.0 - DAW: Ableton Live 11 lite version 11.3.21 I read the HX Stomp maunal, asked Google, Youtube, AI to review the docs and asked him, but I couldn't find the solution. What did I miss? Any ideas? I tried it on Dell Inspiron with Windwos 10, that one is a bit older notebook. Focusrite was also installed before, tried with it, then uninstalled it as its possible. But the results were the same. Audio MIDI Setup Ableton settings xs-stomp-xl-rec-sound.mp3
  2. I am experiencing lots of crashes with the POD Go ASIO driver in Windows using Ableton Live 11. Recording goes fine until you switch off the power of the POD Go. That will almost always result in a fatal blue screen of death. So I'm suspecting a driver fault. Does anyone else have similar problems?
  3. So this is my very first time trying to use ableton and plugging in the Line 5 PODHD500 into it. I'm trying to have it connect w USB directly into my PC. I dont know what I'm really doing. My drivers are up to date. Will this board even work directly into my computer? Any help and or guidance will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hey everyone, I hope all of you are doing well in this ongoing pandemic and you are at a safe place right now! Recently, I set up a Ableton Live 11 Project with Songs, where I want to play guitar to for live gigs. In order to have the right snapshots in the right moment, I created midi clips that send over Midi control -> 69 Hold Pedal 2 signals to my Helix that are changing the snapshots. I also added clips where it changes the presets via program and sub. I set up the midi base channel to 7 because I read somewhere I shouldn't use the standard base one. I also turned off Midi PC Send and additionally I set up the snapshots to 1, 5 and 8 in order to avoid potential failure signals, because they might be too close to each other. Problem A: I tried it with usb, but my usb connection sometimes interrupts, thats why I use a midi connection. However, this is working until the 3rd scene in my Ableton project starts playing, then it doesn't adjust to the right snapshot in the preset (which is just a duplicate from the first one). For instance, it changes to Preset 1-> Snapshot 1 but it should be Preset 1 -> Snapshot 8. Problem B: When I play a bit with it and I change the scenes manually, it changes the right snapshots or presets but at one point my Helix is freezing. My setup is a MacBook Pro 2019, Mac OS Catalina and a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 1st generation and the Helix Version is 3.01.0. If you need any further details, please tell me and thanks in advance to somebody who is helping me with this issue! Best regards Fabian
  5. Hello, I use Ableton for recording and use my Line 6 Helix as my rig (and my soundcard). Upon opening the application it informed me it is "unable to connect to ASIO Helix Stomp". No settings have changed so this seemed odd. I've both updated the Helix to the latest version, restarted the machine, made sure all wires were connected etc. but cannot rectify the issue. I will note that before i updated from 3.0 to 3.01 that the only sound my computer/Helix was producing was static. After the update this issue was fixed so I cannot understand what is happening with its connection to Ableton.

  7. Hi together, I just received my HELIX LT and I truly enjoy it so far. However, I am running into issues whenever I try to sync it with the MIDI clock of my DAW (Ableton Live). I already searched for possible solutions in the support forum but couldn't find any reliable solution so far. In my current setup, I use snapshots and I change those quite frequently (sometimes mutliple times per bar), e.g. to switch the MIDI sync tempo of a tremolo or other modulation devices. The corresponding commands will be sent via a MIDI channel (currently channel 4) in Ableton Live which includes the different values for each snapshot in the corresponding CC (for snapshots, it is CC69). Whenever I do that, the MIDi clock gets out of sync or delayed in some sort. This is also represented in the blue tap tempo light, which flash is noticeably out of sync compared to my DAW metronome. I already did some troubleshooting and below you find my conclusions so far: - Occurs for both for slow and fast BPM. - Occurs both for sending commands via USB MID and MIDI Interface - Does not seem to be a "simple" delay, namely a latency which can be compensated within the DAW itself. It rather appears to me that the amount of sync error is fluctuating over time. I am really not sure if that problem is specifically related to Helix, but it prevents me from utilizing most of the great time-based effects of the HELIX. Therefore, I would highly appreciate any kind of support or ideas for potential workarounds. Many greetings!
  8. Apologies if I'm missing an active thread on this but I couldn't find anything. I use Ableton Live and I'd like to re-amp a track through Helix to external effects and an external amplifier...and then mic that and bring it back into Live as a new track. I understand how to re-amp a track 'inside the Helix box' and I know how to connect a guitar to an external powered amp through Helix (found a video on this) but this is a bit different. Is there a correct way to do this? I sort of got it to work by setting my 'source track' in Ableton to External Out USB 3/4. Then on the Helix I used a USB 3/4 Input block -> a Send/Return FX Loop block...I used Send 1 to go into an external fuzz pedal (or whatever) and then into the amp. Instead of using the paired Return on the Helix, I mic'd the amp and brought that back into the Helix Mic Input. The 'new/re-amped track' in Ableton seemed to want to use External In USB 8. I say this "sort of" worked because I was able to record the re-amped signal but the results were underwhelming. I feel like I either missed something important or found a 'hack' that's not really the optimal way to do this. Does anyone else ever take a track from a DAW and use Helix to reamp it through external fx and an external amp that is mic'd and captured via Mic In? I'd greatly appreciate any widsom/hints on this! Cheers, Chris
  9. Hey all, currently trying to figure out a problem I'm having with getting my computer to recognize my guitar signal through my Helix LT. My usual set-up is using the 4CM into a Supro Blues King 12 amp and I absolutely love it. The Supro acts as a clean pedal platform amp, and the Helix LT gives me all the effects I could ever want, and helps me achieve my default tone with a compressor, noise gate, EQ and such. I usually play along to music on Spotify or YT, through 2 Presonus Eris E5 monitors & Temblor T10 subwoofer -> Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3rd Gen) hooked up via USB to my computer. I live in a house so I don't really have to worry about cranking the volume of my amp and speakers. However, I work odd hours (4am-12pm) and sometimes I'd like to play along with music at times where neighbors are asleep and I don't want to bother them. Basically, I'd like to be able to hear my finished guitar signal from my Helix LT as well as the audio from my computer while headphones are plugged in. In addition, I want to start recording guitar parts using the Helix LT, and I'd like to record directly into Ableton Live using the Helix LT. I figured that I'd be able to plug headphones into my Focusrite to hear the audio from my computer and somehow be able to have my finished guitar signal also loaded up on my computer, whether it be through USB with my Helix LT, or through the Helix Native plug-in. I have the HX Edit software installed on my computer, and using the USB cable, I have the Helix LT directly connected to my computer. So there is no issue with recognizing the Helix LT, as I am able to edit in real time with the HX Edit software. I also have the Helix Native plug-in, which I have been attempting to figure out within Ableton Live. I should mention I'm brand new to Ableton so figuring all this stuff out has been felt a bit overwhelming to say the least. The only way I can hear my guitar signal is to hear the dry signal when plugged directly into my Focusrite, this is less than ideal because it's just my dry signal without any compression or EQ, the same as if I was plugged directly into my amp. I guess I might just be struggling to understand at a basic level on how to play my guitar through the Helix LT into my computer.
  10. Hi! I previously used my ux1 for audio recordings only but now I want go get into dj:ing. My problem is that I can't get my ux1 to work with precueing: I can't send one track to the headphones while the main mix goes through the analog outs. Instead I get the same mix in both headphones and analog outs, simultaneously. I just wanted to check: are any of you familiar with if it is possible to send one track to the analog outs and another one to the headphones in UX1? If it is indeed possible, I will keep on troubleshooting. I'm using ableton but I can choose only 1/2, 1 or 2 as cue out or master out, so the UX1 isn't made for using headphones as a separate output? Whatever I choose I can't hear a separate track in my headphones. In the output config there are two alternatives available: "1 (mono) & 2 (mono)" and "1/2 (stereo)". I have chosen all as active. I guess if the headphones of the UX1 would have been fabricated as a separate output, then the output config would've said: "1 (mono) & 2 (mono)", "1/2 (stereo)" and "2 (mono) & 3 (mono)", "3/4 (stereo)"? Am I right? So I'd have to buy another external sound card to be able to precue while dj:ing?
  11. Hi I have Line6 Pod Hd500x as a multi-effect unit when I play with my guitar. At the same time, I want to use Ableton Live 10 during live performances to launch midi clips (e.g. a Violin part). I know how to map midi keys from controllers or laptop. So, I know how to do this using a dedicated midi controller (e.g. M-AUDIO Keystation32) or my laptop keyboard. My question is can I also map the knobs of POD HD500x (e.g. FS2, FS3 etc.) as midi “keys” in Ableton so that I don’t have to use a separate midi foot controller for this purpose? Has anyone done this with Ableton Live and Line 6 POD HD500x? Thanks in advance George
  12. Hi, I heavily depend on my pods ( XT Live, Farm, etc.) for production and live performance, having used both software and hardware at shows. Recently I decided to just use Pod Farm 2.5( as plugin) to perform as it makes more sense for me creatively and logistically and while working on the setup I encountered the fact that Pod Farm 2.5x does not respond to the midi learn function when used as a plugin… Stand alone works fine but this is a little inconvenient since it is much more effective for me to be able to work on my tones on a recorded dry signal in context ( I use stems in Ableton Live ) while moving on the road… Of course I can record on Ableton, work on the tone, save and open in stand alone… but this limits my possibilities as well as adds extra time which in a hectic soundcheck even a second counts. Pod Farm 2.02( plugin) on the other hand works as it should in regards to midi learn but the GUI shows up "broken" which is not good for performing. It looks like the midi learn function on Pod Farm plugin has not been working properly since 2.51 and we're in .56 now I suppose I'll have to use it stand alone but I'd appreciate any help or info as to how and if this issue can be resolved. Many thanks! ps. is the same in OS X Mavericks and MOuntain Lion.
  13. Hi, We would like to know if it's possible to synchronise the loop tempo of the pod with the session tempo of Ableton Live ? We used the midi input of pod but the tempo wasn't right (120BPM in live / 119.8BPM recognized by the POD) and the loop didn't keep synchronised... Any ideas please ?
  14. Hello, I'm trying to fully integrate the PODHD500x with Ableton Live so that I can use the "Looper" device in Ableton, because I want the master clock to be Ableton so that my loops are always in sync and in the right Time Signature depending of what track I'm running. So to clear some info about my setup. I'm already sending and receiving MIDI from Ableton through the POD. At this moment I can send program changes from Ableton to switch presets and banks in the hardware. Also I can even control specific devices in the Hardware, like for example sending Midi to the POD to activate FX and Modulate the Expression pedals. So this chapter is working like a charm. What is missing though is a way to use the Looper in the POD to control Ableton Live's Looper. So at this point I'm already sending MIDI to Looper. The way I've managed to don't have the POD's Looper over Ableton's Looper was to turn the playback volume of Looper on the POD to 0. This way I can only listen the Looper from Ableton. Now the biggest problem arises from the button behaviour in the POD itself when the looper switch is Activated. Because the REC and Overdub (as also the the PLAY and STOP) use the same Switch (alternately) mapping it to Ableton creates a problem that involves having to press twice for the Switch to do it's defined midi function. So the way I have it set up is by using 6 Switches. a) Switch #1 (FS5) - REC a) Switch #2 (FS6) - PLAY a) Switch #3 (FS7) - OVERDUB a) Switch #4 (FS8) - STOP a) Switch #5 (FS1) - UNDO a) Switch #6 (FS2) - CLEAR But for this to work as a normal Midi Looper too this buttons need to have an option to work as momentary and only send one CC event. So my suggestion is to have an option in the Hardware itself to "Bypass the Looper's Switches functions" (making all the FS switches "MOMENTARY" OR "NOTE") so that If anyone wants to use the Looper function as a MIDI CC's it won't be limited because of the way the Switches Work in the POD. Let me know what you guys think of this :) Thank you Andregmendes.com
  15. I picked up a HD500x yesterday and before i was using a focusrite sound card. I got rid of it so i could just use the pod to do the interface part. i have a question though. I can hear everything and all that, so thats not a issue. What is an issue is i can barely hear the drums i have programmed in Ableton live when i am trying to track guitars. My guitar is PLENTY loud. Any ideas on adjust levels like that? I have the volume on the track all the way up on the drums.
