  1. Hello, I'm trying to fully integrate the PODHD500x with Ableton Live so that I can use the "Looper" device in Ableton, because I want the master clock to be Ableton so that my loops are always in sync and in the right Time Signature depending of what track I'm running. So to clear some info about my setup. I'm already sending and receiving MIDI from Ableton through the POD. At this moment I can send program changes from Ableton to switch presets and banks in the hardware. Also I can even control specific devices in the Hardware, like for example sending Midi to the POD to activate FX and Modulate the Expression pedals. So this chapter is working like a charm. What is missing though is a way to use the Looper in the POD to control Ableton Live's Looper. So at this point I'm already sending MIDI to Looper. The way I've managed to don't have the POD's Looper over Ableton's Looper was to turn the playback volume of Looper on the POD to 0. This way I can only listen the Looper from Ableton. Now the biggest problem arises from the button behaviour in the POD itself when the looper switch is Activated. Because the REC and Overdub (as also the the PLAY and STOP) use the same Switch (alternately) mapping it to Ableton creates a problem that involves having to press twice for the Switch to do it's defined midi function. So the way I have it set up is by using 6 Switches. a) Switch #1 (FS5) - REC a) Switch #2 (FS6) - PLAY a) Switch #3 (FS7) - OVERDUB a) Switch #4 (FS8) - STOP a) Switch #5 (FS1) - UNDO a) Switch #6 (FS2) - CLEAR But for this to work as a normal Midi Looper too this buttons need to have an option to work as momentary and only send one CC event. So my suggestion is to have an option in the Hardware itself to "Bypass the Looper's Switches functions" (making all the FS switches "MOMENTARY" OR "NOTE") so that If anyone wants to use the Looper function as a MIDI CC's it won't be limited because of the way the Switches Work in the POD. Let me know what you guys think of this :) Thank you Andregmendes.com

POD HD500X and Ableton Live latency

I've had my POD HD500x for a few years now and used to use Reaper to record tracks, but recently got a new computer and now use Ableton. However, I get a lot of latency that I can't seem to get rid of. I use Windows 8.1, and Ableton Live Suite 9.1.2 64 bit. My POD has been updated completely. I've messed around in the preferences to no avail (I've attached a screenshot). I can't get the input buffer size to be any lower than 256. I've tried to adjust it to 128 but it just resets. I really don't know what the problem could be. Is it some 32bit/64bit issue? Is it the USB 2.0 cable into a USB 3.0 port? Any help at all would be appreciated. I don't want to go back to Reaper when now I have crazy powerful Ableton.

MIDI Triggering Patch or Effects Changes

I just got the HD500x recently and the other guitarist in my band has Ableton live running every show. My question is: How can we program Ableton to send patch/effects changes to my POD? Thanks!
  4. Hello there, first post et al. I really searched the forum and internet for an answer to this and i would be amazed if this were not possible: I want to sync a Pod 2.0 (newer one i guess) with Ableton Live 9. Basically i want the Tap Tempo to be aligned with Live 9 to record guitar tracks via audio with a synced delay. I know that i will have to adjust the right type (4/4, 8/8 etc.) on the Pod itself but basically the Pod should adjust with whatever Tempo i am recording a certain song in. I know there is a CC message for Tap Tempo (CC64) but that did not really work and i would really just like to just connect the Pod2.0 with a Midi Interface to Live 9 and strum away without having to build a midi track with sync data. I would also like to use the Pod in a live situation where other devices (2xKaoss Pad 3) are tempo-synced with a Macbook Pro. Is the Pod 2.0 really that old to not support this? Thanks for any help and again: I really did look for this specific question but did not find any conclusive answer.
  5. Hello all, I have a POD 2.0 running firmware v2.2 and controlling it with an an original Line 6 Floorboard: I am trying to map my POD 2.0 Floorboard controls so that I can control parameters in Guitar Rig Pro 5. I have seen videos and posts on users using the newer Line 6 floorboard models with Guitar Rig Pro but I have no clue on how to do this with the original POD 2.0 Floorboard. I have my MIDI INs and OUTs connected correctly and Ableton is showing that I am transmitting MIDI signals from my Floorboard. However, I cannot seem to find the right software to manually map the POD 2.0 MIDI CC#'s so that Guitar Rig Pro 5 can see them. For instance, when I move my volume pedal on my Line 6 Floorboard, I would like it to control a knob in Guitar Rig Pro 5. I have installed Line 6 Edit and Line 6 Monkey which I don't think helped my situation. Has anyone done anything similar with the original Line 6 Floorboard? With the amount of POD 2.0's still out there, I'm sure someone has tried to connect their gear with Guitar Rig Pro or Amplitube? Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

    X3 Live Pod Farm 1

Hello, Can anyone advise me on the POD Farm plug-in, my x3 Live shows all model packs and a podfarm 1 license, although I cannot seem to get POD farm to work in standalone mode when the X3 is connected, all the packs show up as installed on the splash screen then I get told that there is no compatible device connected. I have also tried the plugin from withing Ableton Suite and nothing shows up in the plugin section. Thanks for looking. Shane
  7. Hi, I have been using an Shortboard mkii with Snow Leopard on my 2007 MacBook Pro to control Ableton Live for about a year. I have recently upgraded to a new MacBook Pro running Mavericks. To get the Shortboard to function properly, I have to plug it in to the USB AFTER the Mac has booted THEN run Monkey. If I don't do this, Live 9 sees the Shortboard but won't receive messages from it. Weird - never had to do that on my old setup. According to Monkey, I have the latest firmware and software. The Shortboard is being plugged directly into one of the Mac's USB ports - I am also using a USB keyboard controller and a USB Korg Nano Kontrol but these never caused problems with my Shortboard on my old setup. Any one else having this issue? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Steve

    Pod Hd500 And Ableton

Has anyone connected their POD to ableton? I'm interested in connecting my POD HD500x to ableton via midi not as a controller, but to have the POD synced with ableton (meaning that my patches would change throughout a song without me stepping on any of the foot switches and my delays would be synced with tempos of the tracks in ableton). Is this even possible?
  9. Hey everyone, Im trying to use my old Pod xt live as an audio interface to record on Ableton Live 8. Ive got everything set up to where I get a signal on Ableton, but Im getting two output signals from my Pod to my monitors. One signal goes from the pod output straight to the monitors and the other one goes to Ableton through the usb cable and then back through the pod to the monitors. (So that if my Pod tone is clean and I have a distortion effect enabled on Ableton I hear both the clean and distorted tones at the same time) The only output cable I have is a 1/4" from the l/mono output on the pod to the monitors inputs and my Pod is connected to my pc via the usb cable. Is there any way to have only the signal from Ableton play through the monitors? I want to use effects from the pod as well as effects on ableton.
  10. Hi line 6 community, i'm searching for a good usb midi foot controller for Ableton Live and i would like to know if is possible to use the line 6 shortboard MK1 (not mk2). I want to control especially the loop function and effects on/off. Is it complicated to configure? I can't find the manual of that product, is there something online? Thanks
  11. Hello All, I need help, I want to know can I midi map my floorboard to an electronic rack in ableton live and if so can anyone tell me how. PLEAAASE!
  12. For those getting started with a POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 device and following through the Ableton Live Lite 7 tutorial, there has been some inquiries of confusion regarding page 5/12 in the starting tutorial. There is reference to the Line 6 Audio-MIDI Controller Mapping preferences menu page; if you continue reading down the tutorial, you'll see that this particular section refers to setting up a Line 6 KB37 (UX2 + MIDI keyboard controller) for Ableton MIDI CC mapping assignment. The POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 is not a MIDI controller device whatsoever; the only two parameters that appear in the Audio-MIDI menu are for Footswitch 1 & 2 assignments only. The inclusion of this content is specific to KB37 owners wishing to try out Live Lite 7. We apologize for any confusion in the documentation to POD Studio GX/UX1/UX2 new users.
