Hi i have the following Gear (1 POD XT PRO, 1 POD XT BASS PRO, 1 POD 2 PRO) i want to daisy chain them using their AES/EBU connectors to the AES/EBU input of my sound card (MOTU traveler).so i don't have any loss signal, and can guarantee a 100 % digital signal to my DAW, with no noise coloration of any POD but the one i m playing. For the cable connection, i start from the POD 2 AES/EBU as it only has output, no input, then go to the pod XT Bass, POD XT, and to the input of my sound card. All my gears are sync in 44,1 HZ, i got it right no problem here My issue is to bypass (no sound colorario, eq, volume...) of the pods which are after the one my instrument is plugged. For instance If i plug my guitar in the pod 2 Pro i put AES/EBU left as an input (with dry signal) on the POD XT PRO and put AES/EBU left on the POD XT BASS PRO but this last don't allow to select dry signal and it coloured (compressor work, volume...) the main sound (POD 2 PRO). Hope you get my point, and could help me in achieving the 100 % digital configuration i m after with no noise coloration from POD which are after the one i m playing. Thanks in advance.
  2. I have a Helix lT and a PowerCab+ . I recently got a AES/EBU cable to connect the Helix and Powercab. I thought that with that cable I could use the Helix to change speakers as I change amps on the Helix. I have read here that in order to do that I need to use MIDI cables then others have claimed that the Link cable can do it all. The main thing I'm looking for is to have speakers change to go with what I have selected on the Helix. I do concerts and sometimes the back up bands can be placed in tight quarters. I have to go back in forth with electric to acoustic guitars and I need the PowerCab+ to be able to go from a Celestion speaker to Flat response for the acoustic. Does the AES/EBU cable have that ability
  3. I have a modeler, and really like the look of the 212 plus for running stereo through digital I/O (no Line6 link for me unfortunately, meaning an additional MIDI cable). But I also would like to use it for a full range signal (either a console mix, or from a microphone pre for when I sing backing vocals). Anyone know if you run digital stereo out to the 212+, if you can still run a (mono) analog input to the Aux input in monitor mode? Or does this mean the digital signal will be summed to mono, because you can only have 2 channels total???
  4. i drive two selfmade FRFR active monitors in a stereo setup via AES/EBU on the Helix floor. Still a week ago, everything worked fine. The monitors are powerd each by a Hypex Module PSC 2.400 wich has multiple inputs (analog + digital) wich are autoswitching. Yesterdy i wanted to play (OK - i call in playing) and there was nothing. No sound, no noise - just silence. Did'nt change anything as far as i know. Tried then first to reboot, other cables, changing sides - nothing again. Via Headphone, everything ist ok. Via XLR out, everything is ok. Every output block is set to multi and as said - i changed nothing. The only thing i did the last time was the update to 2.82 but i'm not even sure, if the digital out worked once after the update or not. After a while, i found the digital output configuration in the globals set to S/PDIF instead of AES/EBU. Changing to AES/EBU - and everything was fine. So just in case someone has similar problems - check the global setings ;) - they might have been changed with the update. P.S. Sorry for my bad engish :(
  5. Working on doing some reamping here with the Helix. I find little information on the AES/EBU port specifications in the documentation for the Helix or even in this forum. Specifically what I want to know is when I interface the Helix via the AES/EBU port to my RME 802 I get an indictor light on the RME device that tells me "NO SYNC" or "lock". Anyone know why? I have all sorts of specs for the RME AES/EBU port and next to nothing on the Helix. So I am trying to narrow down what the issue is and I suspect it is the Helix. I am using a 110 ohm cable and the RME specs for the port to achieve sync is a Lock range of: 27 kHz – 200 kHz. So a further question is this. Does the Helix fall in the Lock Range??? That is a pretty wide frequency range and I would think the Helix "should" be able to do that. But can it? Thanks for any help you can give. LB
  6. Hey guys, this is my first post in the forum. Right now I'm using a Gibson Les Paul with my HD500, using headphones. The sound is OK, but I'm looking to buy an amplifier. I'm considering buying a DT25 combo, but before I do, I have a couple questions. 1. Firstly, I have ran out of DSP a lot on my HD500, mainly because I use dual amp configurations. What I am wondering is if I can still use two amp paths with two different (pre) amps modelled on my HD500, and have the DT25 combo output both amps (both paths) in only one speaker (I will be using the combo amp). Another thing that I'd like to know in relation to this is whether or not using the HD500 in conjuncton with the DT25 will free up DSP. I heard that (since the 2.0 update), the DT25 models the pre amp instead of the HD500. Is this true? Will it model both of my pre amps, allowing DSP usage to drop on the HD500? 2. Secondly, I am wondering which cable to purhase to use with L6 link. I understand that Line 6 reccomend an AES/EBU type cable over everything else. However I also see that they recommend a Classic Series Microphone Cable by Planet Waves, which as far as I'm aware doesn't appear to be an AES/EBU type cable. I live in New Zealand, so I cannot purchase brands such as Mogami, in fact the only AES/EBU cable that is stocked in my local store is a HOSA AES/EBU cable.
